A Christmas Cantata
by L. A. Marzulli
This was written in the fall of 1995 and was first performed at Malibu Presbyterian Church.
In Bethlehem was also performed at the Malibu Vineyard, The Church of the Nazarene, and Church of the Living Christ. It is a musical production taken straight from the Gospel account of Luke.
Years later I was finally able to get the Cantata recorded in my studio. Thanks to all who made this possible as you are listening to hundreds of hours of work by many wonderful people. It has some great moments and it is my gift to all of you… Send the link to your loved ones and friends.
The King was born, lowly in a stable, and laid in a manger. Later he would die horribly on Calvary. We celebrate His Virgin Birth but look to His sacrifice by which all men and women can be reconciled with God.

UN Jerusalem vote: General Assembly rules against US, declaring recognition of Israel capital ‘null and void’
In a humiliating blow for Donald Trump on the world stage, the United Nations General Assembly has voted by 128 to nine to declare his controversial decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital “null and void”.
Just days after the US used its veto power at the UN Security Council to block a similar measure, the General Assembly resoundingly condemned the America’s unilateral action, which most observers said would hamper efforts to secure peace in the Middle East.
While the vote has little practical impact – it is not legally binding – it is a considerable embarrassment for the US as it reflects global opinion.
As the US licked its wounds, Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas’s spokesman Nabil Abu Rdainah seized on what he said was a “victory for Palestine”.

Talk about spin!
In a humiliating blow for Donald Trump! As the US licked its wounds?
Really? Who writes this drivel.
What this vote from the United Nations shows is the global Anti-Israeli bias. My gosh even Britain voted for the measure. Thew same Britain that 100 years ago penned the Balfour Declaration!
Here’s what our president had to say, and frankly it’s about time someone stood up to what amounts to extortion from some of these countries.
Speaking to members of his cabinet on Wednesday, Mr Trump said he liked what Ms Haley had spelled out. “For all these nations, they take our money and then vote against us. They take hundreds of millions of dollars, even billions of dollars and then they vote against us,” Mr Trump said.
Bully for President Trump! Bully for Nicki Haley!
Prophecy tells us that in the later days Jerusalem will become a stumbling block to all the nations of the earth. Guess what? I think we’re there.
Why is this happening?
In my book The Cosmic Chess Match, I posit that the reason for the vitriol against Israel and the blatant anti-Semitism has a supernatural root.
The worlds Messiah—notice I didn’t say ours. He’s the Messiah of the entire world!—was born of a virgin, a Jewess, Mary. He, Jesus, traces his lineage to King David and then to Adam. He is the savior of the world and He has crushed the head of the serpent.
This is why the god of this world, Satan, hates the Jewish people. This is why for thousands of years they have been hunted and persecuted. Satan hates them because the one who crushed his head and took his kingdom away from him, thereby redeeming men and women, was a Jew, from the tribe of Judah.
It will be interesting to see how Trump responds to this “vote” from the bogus UN. will he stop the flow of money? Frankly I hope he does.
Enough of the charade and the tap-dancing around the issue.
Jerusalem will be and is the eternal capital of Israel.
What was written will come to pass. What was foretold is unfolding!
L. A. Marzulli
OK. So nothing happened, we didn’t get “raptured.” A lot of folks are really dissapointed and I understand why. I want nothing more than to greet the Lord in the air. However, He’s given me a ministry and I’m going to work that until he takes me home. or I greet Him in the air. In short, keeping hand to plow!
This is why I stated very clearly and reasonably in a YOUTUBE video I made on September 22, that we are to spread the good news and destroy the works of the devil. That’s it for me. That’s the mandate, the marching orders, the prime directive, the modus operandi, the final word, the reason why I get up every morning and head to the studio.
We are told by Jesus to go out and spread the good news. In doing so we are destroying the works of the devil. It’s a simple plan and it works.
That being said. I’ve been “taken” twice. Once about 37 years ago when I first became a Christian and then again about 8 years ago. The last time I was getting ready to go take a shower. I suddenly found myself in a heavenly scene. As Paul states, whether in the body or out of the body I do not know. It was like that for me too.
I was there for about 3 seconds and then I returned. This is what I saw…
Second One: I was standing amidst a great host of people who stretched as far as the eye could see. We were all looking in the same direction. We weren’t squished together but there was space between the people gathered there.
Second Two: There was a holy, reverential silence that permeated the scene. No one was talking, there was not a sound. No one was questioning what had just happened and where we were. We all knew we had been raptured.
Second three: I suddenly realized, to my astonishment that my sin nature was gone. I raised my arms in a gesture of amazement and stared at my chest. (You can’t make this up!) Then , suddenly, I was back and found myself in the bathroom.
I fell to my knees and wept. I was there, in the heavenly scene, in the air, and at some point it will happen.
We will rise to meet our King, savior and Lord in the air. It might sound like complete nonsense to a non-believer, but this is our blessed hope and as I have stated numerous times: What was written will come to pass. What was foretold will unfold.
In closing the Bun. Moving forward we should love one another as we are told by Jesus: They will know you are my disciples by the love you have for one another. We shouldn’t engage in “I told you so!” People make mistakes…
Second focus should be on destroying the works of the devil. We are immersed in a world that is perverted, unjust, cruel, blasphemous, and violent.
Then there are the signs that Jesus warned us would herald the last days i.e. the wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, famines and pestilence. We should pray about where we are to serve and then go for it with all the gusto we can muster. Even so, Maranatha.
I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
There are many different interpretations of this verse. Let’s examine it and see what we can glean from it.
First, Jesus is making a statement, stating a fact. He tells the Jewish leaders, the Pharisees who are gathered and asking Him who he is, that He, Jesus, comes in His Fathers name, i.e. Jehovah.
Remember this, Jesus—Yeshua—means God with us. Interesting yes? We might call to remembrance when Jesus states: He is from above. Also: Where I am going you can not follow. (At the last supper) Then: If you have seen me you have seen the Father.
It seems very clear that Jesus is making himself known to anyone who has ears to hear. He’s not playing games. In fact, He backs these statements up by performing miracles, like raising the dead, healing the sick, casting out demons and controlling the weather—the storm He rebukes in the boat!
Then He states the second fact: … and you do not receive me.
I am reminded of this statement by what Phillip says in regard to Jesus being Messiah: Can anything good come out of Nazareth?
The Jewish leaders could not accept Jesus as Messiah. The one statement that infuriated the Jews was when Jesus declared: Before Abraham was I Am.
This is what got Him killed, because Jesus compared himself to the Father by using the word I Am. It was deliberate on His part and once again He states a fact.
Finally we get to the last statement.
If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
Some commentators point to this verse as the Anti-Christ. While the Jews have had numerous deceivers and anti-messiahs’ throughout history, I would posit that this verse may point to THE seed of the serpent, the son of perdition, the anti-christ of the last days.
Remember, This man makes a covenant with the Jews to rebuild their Temple. This is how the world will know who the A.C. is. (Of course I hold to the view that the church will be long-gone by this time.)
If this is true that Jesus is pointing to the A.C. as the one who the Jews will receive it is a chilling statement.
In closing the Bun. Do you know Him? Is He, Jesus alive in your heart? Have you invited the Prince of Peace into your life?
If you think you know Him but you don’t know Him, then, you don’t know Him.
Jesus fulfilled numerous prophecies regarding Messiah. When we acknowledge Him who was sent—that He came in His fathers name—and confess our sins we have eternal life. We become born again. If you don’t know Him, I would ask you to sit still for a moment and reflect on todays Bun.
He stands at the door of your heart and knocks, let Him in today…

For all of our un-saved family members.
“Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”
Most of us know the story. Jesus has been falsely accused by the Jews, handed over to the Romans and now he has met one of the cruelest of punishments ever devised by man, crucifixion.
The Roman soldiers taunt Him as do the Jewish leaders. They scoff and jeer and hurl insults at Him. Remember not only was Jesus scourged within an inch of his life but he carried the wooden cross beam and then was pierced by three nails, which held him fast to the ancient implement of torture and death.
With all this in mind, He looks down at the people who are more like “raging bulls of Bashan,” and utters what may be one of the most profound remarks found in our Bibles.
Father forgive them for they know not what they do.
Jesus’ statement in the thick of being tortured to death, sets up a mandate for us who are His disciples. Essentially we are to forgive everybody, everything… period.
We are to pray for those who spitefully use us.
We are to bless and not curse those who insult or injure us.
We are to turn the other cheek to those who strike us.
We are to walk two miles instead of one.
We are to love our enemies.
Who among us can live up to this ideal? Yet, this is what the Christian walk is all about, learning, through the circumstances that life brings our way, to model what our savior did while He was on the earth.
