Obama’s ‘Good War’: Afghanistan in Ruins Eight Years Later
“As President, I will make the fight against al Qaeda and the Taliban the top priority that it should be. This is a war that we have to win,” Obama vowed in a major 2008 campaign speech on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama also vowed to turn the “good war” in Afghanistan around and pull out all U.S. service members.
Today is the last day of President Obama’s eight-year disastrous administration. You may recall that in 2008 Obama vowed to: Bring our boys home from Afghanistan. Eight years later the carnage continues, the body count grows, the opium trade is thriving and many of our men and woman who return are committing suicide every day. This is Obama’s legacy, his promises collapse of their own weight.
Interesting that the sycophantic, kiss-Obama’s-ring-news-media never, but never mentions any of this. Nope. Obama gets a pass. He can do no wrong in the eyes of the liberal left-wing media that informed us for months before the 2016 election that Trump had NO CHANCE OF WINNING.
Obama’s promise of ending the war in Afghanistan like his other promises of hope and change amounted to nothing more than lip-service and talking points to rally his base.
Obama leaves office with a record 95 million people un-employed. A sluggish, and all-but-dead economy. A middle Class that is reeling from the burden of a 35% Federal Income tax, and a disastrous immigration policy, which Trump will have to deal with once he is sworn in tomorrow.
Obama’s legacy can be summed up in one phrase that I read a few years back when the writing on the wall became very clear. I hope I have some change left when Obama leaves office.
In closing. I believe the powers-that-be, the Military/Industrial complex controls what happens in Afghanistan. We have a complacent media that never reports the ongoing suicides by our men and women who come back from “Over there.”
Is there a shadow government? Remember this, JFK was going to splinter the CIA into a 1000 pieces and then take down the Federal Reserve and bring our boys home from Vietnam. I would posit that these three positions is what got him assassinated in Dallas. (I’ll be doing a special report from Dallas on PPS Report soon)
Will Trump drain the toxic swamp that is Washington? Will he end the 16 years of fighting in Afghanistan? Will he go after the rogue elects in the CIA? Will he audit the FED? Only time will tell.
In the meantime our media rails against him at every turn but is all but silent in pointing out the disastrous legacy of Obama’s eight years in office.
