How much technology will be left after the Tribulation period and what will we do with it?
When we read the book of Revelation, penned almost 2000 years ago we discover that 1/3 of the waters are turned bitter:
A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter. Rev 8:11
1/3 of the trees and grass are destroyed:
The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. Rev. 8:7
With the current population at over 7 billion, over 2 billion people perish from the earth.
A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths. Rev 9:18
True to Yeshua/Jesus words: Unless those days were shortened no flesh would survive…
The question I have been pondering as of late is this; how much technology that we use now will actually be “allowed” in the Millennial age.
Think about it for a moment. Will TV still function? Will we still have the telecommunications system—the Internet—that is in place as I write this? Will airplanes still fly? Will Cell Phones function? You get the point.
How much of what we see right now in modernity, and have come to rely on, will make it through the Tribulation period? Will any technology be present in the millennial kingdom or will it all cease to exist?
I believe that those of us who come riding into the Battle of Armageddon, with Yeshua/Jesus, will keep our flying white horses, but what happens in the aftermath? What will be left of the world as we know it today?
Will Yeshua/Jesus use some of the technology that exists, or will he eliminate it all?
We know from scripture that every person on the planet will see the two witnesses in Jerusalem. When this was written it seemed like fantasy, yet in modernity we know that this is easily accomplished through our satellite network. In other words, most everyone has access to the Internet or Television. so the words penned by the prophet almost two thousand years ago, could certainly be taken literally:
“And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.”10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.” Rev. 11:9
In closing todays Bun. We don’t have all the answers and don’t see how everything will play out. However, we know that Yeshua/Jesus will reign as King over the earth. At this point, when He returns with the armies of heaven, those of us who are with Him, have glorified bodies, i.e. bodies that can no longer get sick, age or die. We are immortal and I believe we will help with the clean-up of the planet, as much of it lays in ruins.
I also would suggest that in helping with the clean up we might be able to do so using what we would call supernatural means. In other words we will be like the angels and thus be able to manipulate matter and energy just like we see the angels do all through the Bible. Think of the angel in Peter’s jail cell. He opens the cell door without a key, and then switches off the guards so everyone is asleep and then, opens the prison gates! Astounding. Think of Phillip, after talking to the Ethiopian eunuch he is taken and transported to another town! Think of Jesus feeding the 5000 with just a few loaves of bread and a few fish. Will the kingdom operate in what we would call the supernatural and thus the technological wonders we have today become archaic?
Lots to think about and ponder….even so Maranatha!
