Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. KJV
I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, NIV
“I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me, NLV
“I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; NASB
“After this I will not be speaking much with you, for The Prince of the world is coming and he has nothing to use against me. Aramaic Plain Bible
The above passage that the Lord impressed upon me on Friday night, at around 2:30 am, is profound in its implications. There is much to be gleaned from this short sentence. I have deliberately used five different translations, my favorites being the King James and then the Aramaic Plain Bibles, to get the meaning of this passage across.
The scene is where Jesus, is about to enter into the time of his testing in the garden at Gethsemane, then His illegal trial, scourging, and finally the crucifixion. This 24 hour period has about 21 prophecies that are fulfilled in this window of time, but I digress.
Jesus tells his disciples first, that He’s not going to be speaking with them any more. In other words He knows that he is going to be separated from them and what’s more, his disciples will scatter and Peter, His “rock,” will deny him three times before the rooster crows.
Then Jesus gives us an incredible insight, as He proclaims who is the ruler of the world, or in the KJV The Prince of this world. Of course it is none other than the Fallen Cherub, Satan. Here, Jesus identifies the rightful ruler of planet earth. The one who has legal right, the one who usurped that right thousands of years ago and with it doomed mankind to the kind of insanity we see everyday on this planet, beheadings of children by ISIL, wars and the atrocities that go with them, murders, lies, the killing of 1 BILLION unborn babies and so on….
It becomes obvious who is still in charge of this planet, even though by His crucifixion Jesus/Yashua reclaimed the title-deed to earth. Talk about Sci-Fi, a Cosmic Chess Match indeed!
At some point, and I would posit it will be soon, Yashua will come again and claim His rightful Kingship over the earth. See Revelation 19, which by the way when it occurs and we ride into battle with Him, afterward, we all get to keep our flying horses! (Can’t wait for that!)
The next part of this single sentence is sobering and pregnant with meaning and should be one that every believer ponders on; and he has nothing to use against me (Aramiac) or and hath nothing in me. (KJV)
In other words, The Fallen Cherub has no hold on Jesus, there is no sin in His life, there is not one point in every temptation that The Fallen One could through at Him, that Jesus stumbled over. The Fallen One has NOTHING to use against Him, to accuse Jesus of. Who is the accuser? Satan.
Jesus is faultless, spotless thus He is The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. This is the good news of the Bible; Jesus takes away the sins of the world. Your sins and mine, in short everybody’s. This is the first part of salvation, realizing what He did, the other is to accept Him as The One who was sent to earth to redeem all mankind. When we ask Him into our lives for our sins to be forgiven they are, and we have eternal life; are taken out of the “matrix” of the world, and our old nature begins to die away as we are born of the Spirit of the Living God.
There is another point to consider before I close the Bun and it is this. The Fallen One has nothing to use against me. Think for a moment of the doors many of us open through anger, bitterness, deceit, pornography, drugs, alcohol, lying, playing with the occult, taro cards, Ouija board, lust, pride of life, covetousness, course jesting and the list goes on.
This is why all of us need to take every thought captive and weigh it against the word of God. This is why we have to put on the armor of God daily—see Ephesians 6. This is why we must walk under the power of the Holy Spirit, The Spirit of the Living God, and be still and Know that He is God.
Taking inventory of our daily lives is a must, especially if we are to be used in the Cosmic Battle which even now rages about us. Close any open doors. Forgive everybody everything, call out to Him who is our savior and keep ourselves from the idols of this world. In short, leave no foothold for the accuser of our souls….
