“If any among you are sick call for the elders….!”
I spoke all day yesterday and by mid afternoon I was exhausted. My host and pastor of the church, Jerry Tomlinson, came up and asked how I was doing. “Not good,” I said, and then added that I thought I would end early, eat dinner and go back to his house and rest, thus skipping the evening session. Jerry nodded and looked concerned and went back and sat down. This was at a break and after a few minutes I resumed the presentation. As I launched into another section I asked the folks who were in attendance to pray for me as I wasn’t feeling up to it. Rhonda, Jerry’s wife, admonished him saying, what are you waiting for? Then, Jerry came back up front. He called the folks to come up and lay hands on me and pray. He then anointed me with oil and the people prayed. Then everyone sat back down and I started up again….
We are used to having immediate gratification in our culture. I call it the McDonalds syndrome. Here’s what I mean. We go to window one and place our order and then proceed to window two, and within a minute receive our order. It’s almost instant. I believe that we have taken this mentality into our prayer life and sometimes expect instant results. While there are times when we get instant results to our prayers there are other times when the answer comes a year later, or perhaps a decade later. Anyway, back tot the story.
I finished the Power Point presentation of Politics, Prophecy and the Supernatural, and then we broke for dinner. I ate and felt a little better and then we headed back into the hall for the evening session. Now at this point, things changed. I was on fire for the first time since arriving in Kentucky. I had energy to spare and was practically jumping out of my shoes with excitement. I was on a roll and went for about 2 hours with the Messengers of Deception, presentation.
All of that above to say this. There is no sickness in the Kingdom of heaven. There are no people walking with a limp, there are no withered hands or blind eyes, or deaf ears. There is no cancer, or any other disease. Yesterday, prayer was answered. We touched heaven and the God who is there, who loves us, responded. Thank you Father!
Prayer changes things. It creates a different atmosphere. Praise music and worship music also changes the atmosphere. There are times when my wife and I leave worship music playing when we leave the house. We just let it play over and over again. When we return home we can “feel” the difference. The house is washed! I love it!
Now onto some prayer needs:
Please pray for Shannon who is 16 years old and is suffering from depression. She is also cutting herself. Let’s break the hand of the Fallen One and give her victory in Yashua/Jesus name!
