Sunday Go-to-Meeting – BUN!

Sunday Bun

L. A. Marzulli

1 Cor 15: 13  If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.  And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.

For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.  And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.

Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.

I lost two friends this week, Wayne Kendall – who was also my first mentor in the Christian faith –  and Andy Radford, Host of the Edge Am – see link below.  Death is never convenient and the sting of it reminds us that at some point in the future we will all pass that way.  Everything that has breath on this planet at some point succumbs to it.  No one lives forever and the wealth and possessions that we accumulate will be left to another.  We come into this world with nothing and we leave with nothing.

As the verses tell us above, if there is no resurrection from the dead then everything is useless, jejune, and we might as well adopt a Nihilistic attitude and world view.  However, He rose on the third day and this is our hope, that at some point we will also be like Him and conquer death.

I believe that The Shroud of Turin is forensic evidence, or as I prefer to call it God’s calling card that shows us that there is another reality, a super reality and there is a personal God who loves us and is not bound by the laws of physics as we know them.  There was a miracle in that tomb almost tow thousand years ago and the lifeless body was brought back to life.  The empty tomb of Yashua/Jesus is our hope that for those of us who believe on Him, will at the sound of the last trumpet, rise and meet Him in the air.  These are not empty words but are our blessed hope.  At some point I will see Wayne and Andy again.  Death will no longer have its sting.  We will live forever and be with the author and finisher of our faith, our king, our redeemer, Yashua/Jesus.

In closing the Bun!  As Christians we have a real template to look to and that is the resurrection of Yashua/Jesus.  Without this we have nothing.  This is what separates what we believe from any other religion on the planet, that, and the prophetic thread that runs through all of scripture.  We shall all be changed, in a moment in a twinkling of an eye,  the dead in Christ will rise first and them we who remain alive will also and greet the Lord in the air….

I’m off to OK city today to be a guest on Prophecy in the News….

  1. Dear LA:

I give you my condolences today. It is never easy when we have loved ones and people we care about leave us in death. But your post is the truth and the hope that holds us up and together. Death is not the final answer for the christian. God’s mercy was so great to us that He provided a way for us to overcome and the empty tomb is the evidence we need to remember. God bless you today as you travel and do the Lord’s work. God bless your friends that have gone on before you to their reward. We will be with them again and sooner than we may realize. Just like your friends, know that your labor is not in vain. God bless you and your family always and thank you for the work you do as a blessing to the body. Amen!

  2. Mark 9
1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

    Mark 12
26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living:”

    2 Corinthians 5
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

    • You’re welcome Gina!

May we ever echo and ring true what our Lord Jesus has written on our hearts and brings again to mind through the ministries of His Holy Spirit.

  3. I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSSES THIS WEEK. Soon we will also get to go home to be with the father, may you find some peace in knowing that fact .Thank you for continuing to blog during your sadness, we will think of you today especially!

  4. Lately, every Sunday the scripture you decide to post is either the same one or same topic we just got taught @ Church. bingo ~ again today.

Last night I just started reading the Ancient Book of Jasher. It’s a non-divinely inspired ancient History account which covers the same info as Genesis & Exodus but w/more detail possibly written about 3500 yrs ago. (The same time frame Genesis was written.)

The book of Jasher is referenced in the Bible in Joshua 10:13; 2 Samuel 1:18, and 2 Timothy 3:8. Rabbi’s used this History book in their studies in those days.

Anyway, I was reading the Genesis 6 account & I couldn’t find that it mentioned the “sons of God” coming down to mate w/human women. It spoke only about the evil deeds of men – unless I’m missing something in the translation which is very possible.

But what really struck me is that the very thought I’ve had about the wise men of God passing @ this time in our generation ~ is actually spoken of here in Jasher. It was in “the days of Noah”………. This subject is repeated in the story but I’ll pick out a verse here:

    Jasher 5:20,21

“And all the days of Lemech were seven hundred and seventy years, and he died.

And all the sons of men who knew the Lord, died in that year before the Lord brought evil upon them; for the Lord willed them to die, so as not to behold the evil that God would bring upon their brothers and relatives, as he had so declared to do.”

So does this have something to do w/the Godly of our day? I don’t know. We do know God chose only Noah & his familly to go onto the Ark & be protected from His wrath. Will God decide to take some people who follow Him now ahead of the next Judgment & before the Rapture?

I guess we won’t know 4 sure ( Any prophets in the house?) but I thought it was interesting whether there is a parallel for our day or not.

  5. You will see them again, L.A. I know you know that. We don’t grieve as the heathen do, but we do grieve. My prayers are with you.
