The Pope, Palestine and Peace…

Posted by lamarzulli on May 13, 2009

POPE!The Pope is visiting the Middle East. He made a visit to Bethlehem and thousands lined the streets, under heavy security, to catch a glimpse of him. The Pope called for the creation of a Palestinian state. With the King of Jordan declaring recently – see yesterday’s BLOG – that unless there is a Palestinian state soon, there will be war within a year, it seems that the Pope’s visit is no coincidence. There may also be a hidden agenda, as his real visit to the Holy land may be to secure Rome’s control over the sacred sites of Christendom that are in Jerusalem. Is this what the international community is pressing for? Is the end game for Jerusalem to be controlled by Rome and perhaps the United Nations? One Rabbi told the Pope to go and split Rome! The emotions run deep. As the article below points out, it appears the Untied States has put the pressure on Israel to submit to a two state solution and do it quickly. Here’s what we need to keep an eye on. The King of Jordan is trying to broker a peace agreement and a two state solution creating an independent state of Palestine, with Jerusalem as it’s capital. The King is the only person in the Muslim world that holds the ‘keys to the Temple Mount,’ in other words he has the final say as to what happens on the Temple Mount. The Temple Mount is what is left of where the Jewish Temple, one of the wonders of the ancient world, once stood. It is an area that is hotly contested. The Jews are looking to rebuild their temple on the mount. In fact they have the stones already pre-cut and ready to be set in place… once they get permission to build it. The only person on the planet who has the power to allow this, is Kink Abdullah. Connect the dots. We know that the Anti-Christ will cut a deal with the Jews and allow them to build their temple. I’m not saying that Abdullah is the Anti-Christ, but we need to see how he is involved, if such a deal goes down. With Netanyahu set to meet with president Obama next week, the stakes are high… Interesting times we live in, yes?

Pontiff calls for Palestinian state

The pontiff stood alongside Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as he delivered his strongest public support yet for Palestinian statehood. “Mr. President, the Holy See supports the right of your people to a sovereign Palestinian homeland in the land of your forefathers, secure and at peace with its neighbors, within internationally recognized borders,” the pontiff said. Benedict acknowledged the difficulties faced by the Palestinians, although he stopped short of singling out Israel for criticism. “I know how much you have suffered and continue to suffer as a result of the turmoil that has afflicted this land for decades,” he said. “It is my earnest hope that the serious concerns involving security in Israel and the Palestinian Territories will soon be allayed sufficiently to allow greater freedom of movement, especially with regard to contact between family members and access to the holy places,” the pope continued. “Palestinians, like any other people, have a natural right to marry, to raise families, and to have access to work, education and health care. I pray too that, with the assistance of the international community, reconstruction work can proceed swiftly wherever homes, schools or hospitals have been destroyed , especially during recent fighting.

Obama’s Signal to Israel: Submit

By Mona Charen

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | In early April, Vice President Biden was asked if the administration was concerned that Israel might strike at Iran’s nuclear facilities. “I don’t believe Prime Minister Netanyahu would do that,” Mr. Biden replied. “I think he would be ill advised to do that.”

A few weeks later, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explained the administration’s solution to the threat of an Iranian bomb: “For Israel to get the kind of strong support it’s looking for vis-a-vis Iran, it can’t stay on the sideline with respect to the Palestinians and the peace efforts … they go hand in hand.” And on May 10, National Security Adviser James Jones spelled it out further: “We understand Israel’s preoccupation with Iran as an existential threat. We agree with that. … By the same token, there are a lot of things that you can do to diminish that existential threat by working hard towards achieving a two-state solution.” By what reasoning has the administration decided that pushing Israel to permit a new Palestinian state would — in any way — diminish the threat from Iran? Do they believe that Iran’s (or I should say the Iranian leadership’s) genocidal hostility toward Israel is the result of lack of progress toward an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza? Will the Iranian leadership, which has characterized Israel as a “cancerous tumor,” declared that “Israel must we wiped off the map,” and promised that “Israel is destined for destruction and will soon disappear” is going to change its mind if Israel enters into negotiations with the Palestinians? “Obama will be a great friend to Israel.” So said a Jewish Democrat in a pre-election debate with me. I asked her whether she had any hesitations about someone who had been steeped in academic pieties and Hyde Park leftwing intellectual fashions, and who had tamely absorbed the Rev. Wright’s sermons for 20 years? Her response was to mouth some of the platitudes about support for Israel that were to be found on the Obama campaign’s website. I wonder if she is having doubts now. Does it give her pause that Rose Gottemoeller, assistant secretary of state and America’s chief nuclear arms negotiator, has called on Israel (along with Pakistan, India, and North Korea) to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty? By including Israel on a list of nations known to either have nuclear weapons or be close to acquiring them, the Obama administration is introducing a sinister note of moral equivalence to the problem of nuclear weapons in the Middle East. All previous U.S. governments have implicitly accepted that Israel’s nuclear weapons pose a threat to no nation and are maintained only to deter Israel’s enemies from genocidal attacks. Like other liberals, my debate opponent probably believes that Obama’s apology tour of global capitals was pitch perfect. Of course, it’s one thing for the United States, still the world’s superpower, to delude itself that winning international popularity contests will make us safer (though it’s a dangerous delusion), but Israel, which always sits inches from the precipice of destruction, cannot afford such fantasies at all. We have recent history to guide us. In 2000, Israel withdrew from the security corridor it had established in southern Lebanon. The world had long been clamoring for Israel to do this. The Iranian-sponsored Hezbollah movement immediately seized the area — trumpeting its triumph in driving out the enemy. In 2006, southern Lebanon became the launching pad for Hezbollah’s missile campaign against northern Israel. Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. The Iranian-backed Hamas movement moved quickly and took control there (not without significant internecine bloodshed with Fatah), and again used the territory not to build a peaceful Palestinian enclave but to launch 10,000 missiles against southern Israel. Fatah (which is called moderate because it wants to destroy Israel on the installment plan rather than all at once) retains tenuous control of the West Bank. But even Mahmoud Abbas admits that if Israel were to withdraw completely from the area, Hamas would gain control in a heartbeat. Next week, Prime Minister Netanyahu will meet with President Obama in Washington. It is hard to see how this relationship can go well. President Obama has sent abundant signals that his foreign policy is 50 percent wishful thinking and 50 percent leftwing mush. There may not be any easy answers to the problem of a nuclear Iran. But pressuring Israel to take suicidal risks is clearly the worst possible approach. Iran will conclude, as its proxies Hezbollah and Hamas at various times concluded, that force and the threat of force work. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. … We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. –Sir Karl Popper

As for the Pope, sounds like the groundwork is being layed for the scarlet woman to ride the beast! We’ll see. As for land for peace, all the Palestinians are trying to do is get a firmer foothold in Israel so that their Arab neighbors can help push them into the sea! If they need a country so badly, why don’t some of their Arab neighbors offer them part of their country? In Lebanon and Iraq I have heard there is a lot of unused land. Let the Palestinians use it! Israel is so small, I don’t see how they get the people they have in there!

I had a friend move to Georgetown last summer. I got emails about how beautiful the weather was, no humidity! Then I got emails about how beautiful fall was. The trees are so beautiful you just can’t imagine! Then I got the winter email. It’s freezing cold, always below zero and always snow! My question, why do you want to live in a deep freeze? I use to live in Texas. Now I live in South Carolina. Both states are south and about as far north as I care to move! When you see snow once every two years, you appreciate it! LOL!

Are we witnessing the final push for “peace & safety” in accord with Apostle Paul’s prophecy ? It seems so to me.

Concerning the rebuilding of the Temple. I hold a different view to most of you.The Question I ask is in the light of The Apostles word 2Thes2:4. He says that the Temple in which the lawless one is to Sit is the (Temple of God)
The implication of Paul’s words reveal this Temple as belonging to God. God already has a Temple “A spiritual one” which came into existence at Pentecost built on Christ The Rock.

IF there is to be A Temple Built on the old site IT cannot be The Temple of God. Throughout the History of God’s people there was only one Temple at a time.
Now,Presently, God only has ONE Temple, it is in existence Today.(God seeks not a dwelling made of human hands, it was never His Purpose. That is why the Curtain of the Holy of Hollies was rendered in two at Christ’s Death.
God was telling us that The Nature of the Temple Is Now Changed. And today this is a REALITY, Old things have past away.

This is understood clearly when we come to Know who the “true People” of God Are Today. (The commonwealth of Israel made up of Jews and gentiles IN Christ Jesus who IS the SEED of Abraham)Gal3:27-29.

John, Since the Tribulation is the “Time of Jacob’s Trouble”, the temple will be a Jewish temple. God will restore law and allow temple worship among the Jews. They will not recognize the true Messiah however until they realize who the false one is (Antichrist) at Tribulation midpoint.
The true church will be gone either at the beginning or at midpoint, so the Temple of the Holy Spirit will not be involved.
Unless you don’t believe the church is to be saved from the wrath that is to come and will go through the entirety of the Trib. Even then, it is a stretch.

    • john B said

I don’t reckon there is going to be A pre-trib or mid-trib rapture. In Mat24:-31 The Lord tells us when we are to be Gathered.
The Law has been abolished once and for all times Heb10:1-18.

If there is a restoration of the Law, It certainly will not be by the Hand of God. That would be abolishing God’s Perfect sacrifice. God is not about to do that. I have already pointed out by the Apostles word, it is God’s Temple in which the lawless one Sits and not A Jewish one.

God can certainly shelter his people from Wrath here upon the earth, He has done it many times before.
Ex: the plagues of Egypt, The destruction of Jerusalem 70AD.

We must be careful of theology dear friend, She is satan’s Bride & he practices Polygamy John B.

    • Christine said

I also believe the temple wil be a Jewish one. Mostly because at the midpoint of the tribulation the antichrist will cause the sacrifices to cease. The sacrifice of Y’shua/Jesus will never cease. I do not believe the law of G-d is abolished. It is fulfilled. I do believe we will go back to G-ds laws during the millenium. The only thing that won’t be done is the sin sacrfice and that is because Y’shua/Jesus was the perfect sacrifice! If you dig out the laws and what G-d told them, He wasn’t demanding something that was such a stretch. Most of the laws He gave them was to protect them and ensure a long life. Y’shua/Jesus said in Matthew 5:17 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets, I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. If you remember Y’shua/Jesus said that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. The New Testament didn’t exist at that time. There isn’t anything wrong with those laws! Anyway, I know we can debate this from now until the Lord returns and I don’t want to stir up anything. It’s just something to think about. I have wondered if the temple antichrist will sit in will be an actual temple building or if it will be set up like the tabernacle in the wilderness.

Christine, your view reverses everything that Jesus has established forever.
We are not going back to the way things were under The mosaic System of life. that was a “Shadow” of the Reality now established forever in Christ Jesus.Heb10:1-18.

In like manner, the Promise Made to Abraham is (((fulfilled in Christ))). Our Lord is the Seed of that Promise and we in Him are The recipients of that promise.
There is no second chance of salvation for anybody outside of Christ, be ye Jew or Gentile. The Apostle said “Today is the Day of Salvation”. That implies NO tomorrow.

When the Lord Jesus is revealed from Heaven with His Mighty angels to Gather us Mat24:30,31. that will be the Judgment of the Great & terrible Day of the Lord. your friend in Jesus John B

as for the antichrist, my leading candidate calls himself “Holy Father”, claims to be infallible., and believes all the souls of the world are under his authority – if that’s not pretending to be equal with God, I don’t know what is

    • Christine said

I personally don’t know which one to look at. I understand what you are saying about this person. I don’t know if they have the political clout to pull it off. I am thinking it will be someone who is more neutral as far as religion. Maybe someone who beleives all roads lead to heaven. I do believe that, if the nephilim appear, and show great wonders, they will gain the following of the entire world. Then, if they have someone who is willing to give up their faith to worship them, I am sure they will have no qualms about making a leader out of them. The world will probably follow because they are so enthralled about the new “gods.” I believe the nephilim could well be what is worshipped. It would be very hard to get Christians to follow Allah, or Moslems to follow anything Catholic. Likewise, the Jewish people would follow neither. If the nephilim appeared and did great wonders, I am sure they would draw a huge following, anyone who isn’t rooted and grounded in G-ds Word. There would be something physical human beings can look at and believe in. The Word says that if it were possible, even the elect of G-d would be tricked. In the Complete Jewish Bible Daniel 11:38 says “But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold an silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. This makes me believe that the antichrist won’t worship a God who is worshipped at this present time, therefore, it won’t be a current religion that reigns. Since it is a god his fathers knew not, there must be something new that he puts all of his treasure into. The nephilim?

    • cottonwoodcreekfarm said

Yes Christine, I believe a fallen angel human hybrid- Nephilim -will be the antichrist and possibly the false prophet. They may come with all their unholy ones from high places- UFO’s. I also believe a literal third temple will be built. If the Orthodox Jews get permission , they could build it in five months and they already have their 200 Levite priests. Babylon is also being rebuilt- the seat of satan.

    • john B said

One Thing for sure, 200 Levite priests are not God’s Priests, They cannot be so Cottonwood, because you and I are His priests Rev1:6, 1Pet2:5

Jesus is our High-priest, not in the order of Aaron but Melchizedek. Heb7:11-19. It is only through Him that we can draw near to God Vs19. 200 levites can’t do that, they are of the WRONG Order. God has Finished with Them.
So, if there are 200 levites ready then it part of the Deception of the Last Days.

The predetermined will of God cannot be reversed,Jesus Is The High-Priest Forever, Like wise with The temple.
Pro-Jewish theology like many others sets out to undo what God Has forever Ordained before the World was created.
again I say with the Apostles “Old things have Passed Away” John B.

  12. john B said

It is a sad state of Affairs when one’s theology over rides the plain words of Jesus & that of his Apostles.

When God Almighty sends the STRONG DELUSION, All will give servitude to the Antichrist.
He will be a Man Rev 13:18. worshiped by Jews, Gentiles also the Atheist. IT is God’s Delusion worked upon the mind of humanity which will bring the Worship of the Beast. there is room in that the Ufo phenomenon. John B

    • Steve said

Actually John there is room in all of this for ufo phenomenon.

God uses us to spread the gospel of Christ, but when someone is saved does that mean that we saved them and not God? Of course not…and although God may and probably will use ufo phenomena to send a strong delusion, it will still be him who sends it.

As for the antichrist, the Bible says he will be a man and yet will ascend out of the bottomless pit. Sounds like a demonic hybrid of some sort to me and there doesn’t seem to be anyone who fits the bill quite yet. Daniel also indicates he will be a “king of fierce countenance”. That would seem to leave out Abdullah and the present pope, but if the next one looks like a gargoyle, I’m going to be watching him REALLY close.

    • Christine said

It could be that the antichrist is a regular man, in the beginning of his work. I do believe that, if the nephilim are here at that time, he will be an avid worshipper because Daniel 7 says he will not worship the God of his father, but a strange god. He is suppose to die and resurrect after 3 days, an imitation of Christ. He is suppose to appear on the world stage on a program of peace. It could be that, since he lends himself to the worship of the strange god, when he dies, this strange god would inhabit his body. Not really a resurrection of the man, but an inhabitation of the nephilim, demonic, fallen angel spirit. This would probably give him a fierce countenance, since the eyes are the windows to the soul.

    • Steve said

Good point Christine…I had considered that the head wound that the antichrist apparently receives might have an effect towards his fierce countenance, but you state it much better.

  13. John B said

A mans “Soul” can be so Full of the Demonic That He can be A spiritual Hybrib, The Soul is The Real person.

Jesus said that “the Eye are the lamp of the soul”.

The Fierceness referred to may be only seen in His eyes revealing the state of his possessed Soul. Outwardly he may appear as an Angel of Light As Judas Iscariot the betrayer was. Specially so as scripture reveals that the lawless one is the Son of perdition, a title also given to Judas who became possessed by satan .

    • Christine said

Satan himself was beautiful and seen as an angel of light. I would think he would choose a beautiful appearance as a reflection of his pride and vanity. Closer inspection of the eyes would probably send a chill through a person, if a person could look into them. I don’t know if I would want to look into the eyes of pure evil!

  14. Doug said

John, thank you for the good advice regarding theology. Good that you take that advice yourself, my friend.
The saints will come with Christ at his appearing I Thess 3:13 Therefore He will have to come and get them first.
Why would Christ leave his bride on earth as it is going through rock and roll and shake and bake?
If God allows the Antichrist to persecute the church, He will be persecuting Jesus Christ himself. As in Acts 9:4 Saul of Tarsus was asked “why are you persecuting me?” spoken by the Son of God.
We are reminded many times to watch and pray so as not to be surprised by the coming of Christ. If the church goes through the trib they would not need this admonishment.
The Church is spoken of in the first 3 chapters of Revelation and then never mentioned again until chapter 19 when she returns as “The Bride of Christ”.
Every eye will see him at his coming. Not a situation for “a thief in the night”.
1 Thess. 1:10 “We wait for His Son from heaven whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.” Nothing ambiguous about that.

I am not here to debate this and blow a lot of time going back and forth. We will find out the truth of it, soon enough. I am currently busy enough trying to deal with a bunch of New Agers on UFO sites.
But again, thanks for the advice.

    • Christine said

I have been researching all of the possibilities of the rapture. I have come to the conclusion that I am going to keep looking up and when it happens it happens. All of the arguements are good. Two verses that stand out for me are 1. Luke 21:36 “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all of these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man.” and 2. Revelations 3:10 Because thou has kept the word of my patience I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Both of these promises seem to indicate He will keep us during the times that our coming. Whether that is by rapture, or carrying us out into the wilderness to protect us, we will see! The one thing I haven’t figure out about a post tribulation rapture is Zechariah chapter 14. It says the mountain will split when Jesus puts his feet on it and His people will flee through the mountain valley. Now it seems like, if He is making a way to escape through the mountain, He wouldn’t rapture us up at the same time! I believe that we will definitely be raptured before this. It is possible we will see a pre-trib rapture and that the saints the antichrist wears out will be the ones left behind who refuse to take his mark. The ones who have heard the Word and know the Word, but didn’t give their lives to Him before the rapture. Then again, we may be here. I just pray the Lord will help me to be strong and ready, however it turns out!

  15. John B said

I would also like to point out that the Leading body of the Reformation period, (without which we would all be in darkness). They gave us God’s word to read for ourselves. They held the view that the “Papal seat of Authority” was antichrist and that babylon was its associated “System of deceit” by promoting a false Gospel.
I believe they were correct and the instrument of God in restoring the Gospel message. “That there is no salvation for any person outside of Grace in Christ Jesus”.

It is a Great concern that many denominations and independent churches who confess Jesus no longer recognize this truth.
For they have succumb to the Babylonian Spirit being smoked-screened by modern Theologies (doctrines of demons lodged deep in the recesses of the mind).

It is going to be a sorry state of affairs for many pots-modern christians when satan energizes the wounded head of the Beast & the Son of Perdition (the New Judas) is revealed, most will not recognize Him but for a Godly remnant. John B

    • Christine said

I don’t believe anyone can be saved by the law of Moses. Only by salvation in Y’shua/Jesus. No works of our hands can save us. Once we are saved, He wants us to learn about Him and keep His commandments to the best of our knowledge and ability. Being saved gets us to heaven. Then we will receive rewards (crowns) according to our works. We will then lay those crowns at His feet! It is up to us individually to read His Word and ask Him what He wants us to do. I do believe that we are presently in a rehearsal for the coming wedding! The Word asks us for obedience. Romans 6:16 and also Y’shua/Jesus tells us if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. We must be born again, then learn to be obedient. Our walk depends on us individually and our relationship with G-d. He tells us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. It’s not so we can judge others about their walk, but we must concentrate on our walk and see what the Lord would have us to do. What I feel I must do in my heart to meet His requirements may be different than what you feel like He requires you to do. That is because He knows our hearts, and my battles are not your battles. However, we are to encourage one another and uplift one another in the Lord!
