Some of the strangest weather on record continues all around the globe, while we are warned of the approach of comets, hidden planets, and solar flares. The Arab spring has turned into the Arab summer, with continued unrest and mass demonstrations, especially in Syria. Our national leaders can’t seem to agree on how to fix our sluggish economy, but the Afghan war drags on with no end in sight. That illusive bogey man, Osama Bin Laden was supposedly killed and then hastily buried at sea so as not offend Muslims, but six-year olds are patted down at airports by the TSA goons, because they might be terrorists. Lawlessness is on the rise as gangs and violence escalate, and the death toll continues to rise along our southern border because of the drug wars.
With everything that I mentioned it’s easy to become overwhelmed with the “news of the world.” Sometimes we need to take a step back and realize that the prophecies that were written thousands of years ago were penned so that we wouldn’t be taken by surprise, when these things begin to happen. (Hey Dark Starr & Sawyer – you would do well to read Matthew 24!) In fact we are admonished to look up when we see the wars, famines, pestilence, earthquakes and troublesome times. Why? Because these events are a harbinger of His coming and that coming is the greatest event in all of history. He told us this 2000 years ago as a warning to us!
His coming finally puts an end to the evil system that mankind has been enslaved under for millennia. There will be no more war, hunger, disease, murder, ethnic cleansing, segregation, abortions, poverty, sickness, avarice, corruption, dictatorships…. In short He will rule from Jerusalem as the prophecy tells us. He will destroy the dragon, Satan, our adversary, the serpent, with the breath of His coming.
There is a war that is raging in another dimension and I believe it is about to spill over onto our world. We are told that at some point Michael and his angels fight with Satan and his angels, but Michael proves to be the stronger o f the two and the enemy of our souls is cast out of his fortress, that of the second heaven, and he is now bound in our space/time domain, that of earth.
In the meantime we need to realize a few things.
1. We have not seen the fulfilment of Isaiah 17: This is the destruction of Damascus.
2. We have not seen the rebuilt temple where the Jews will once again engage in the Levitical system of animal sacrifice. ( Sorry John B. we differ on this)
3. The Psalm 83 war has not yet appeared.
4. We are not in the tribulation but in the birth pangs, so we have at least 7 years before He touches down on the Mount of Olives, therefore we will not see the destruction of earth as the 2012 crew states ad nauseam.
5. The Ezekiel war – described in chapters 38 & 39 – has not yet been fulfilled,
6. The anti-christ has not appeared.
In closing today’s post: If my position is correct, that we are in the birth pangs, we should see an increase in the events that we are told will precede the tribulation, which I believe we are seeing, However, we need to grasp that all of this leads to a climax and that is His return!
