Bun!!!Sunday Bun

If the son sets you free you are free indeed!

A few weeks ago I was awakened at midnight and for the next three hours the Holy Spirit led me through a cathartic inventory.  I was amazed at the scenes that popped into my mind.  Memories from early childhood, boyhood and my teen age years all the way to the present.

One of the focuses was on words that people had spoken over me.  I was taken aback by some of what the Holy Spirit was calling to my attention and I realized these people, whether intentionally or not, had cursed me in some particular way.  One of the most glaring was when I was playing piano and an elderly women came alongside me and said, Is that all your going to do today? You’ll never amount to anything.

There were other scenes with similar words being spoken over me, as this went on for almost three hours.  Now, we can go to shrinks and “discover” all of this and feel rejected, hurt, broken, and take some meds to make us feel better, or we can take all of this and lay at the cross.  This is what I was led in, the Spirit of the Living God had me take each and every scene and lay it at the foot of the cross.  Then forgiveness was added to the one who had hurt me as well as me saying, I am dead to you and you are dead to me.  I was free from the past!

He wants to take each of us to this place of forgiveness and cleansing.  We don’t have to carry the weight of the past around with us.  We can be free.  As the scripture tells us: If the son sets you free you are free indeed!

In closing todays Bun.  My mentor Wayne Kendall used to say, human beings are garbage dumps.  When he first said this I didn’t understand, but now I do.  All of us have words spoken over us which are not only hurtful, but can set us on path that we will travel unwillingly for years.  Today, ask Him to come in and take these ill spoken words.  Let’s bring them to the cross and be done with them once and for all.   We can be free with His help.  This is one of the secrets of the early church.   Therapy?  We don’t need no stinking therapy!  LOL!

Great idea, L.A.! I have been “seeing” hurtful things from the past for months now. Disgorging things. I want to lay it at the cross, as you do. I want to be rid of that stuff. Of course I forgive all of those who said the hurtful things, for they had been hurt, in an endless descent from generation to generation.
And yet the generations blessed me too. My grandma was a Christian and no doubt prayed for me, while I was raised in an atheist secular humanist home.
It’s easy to forgive when you realize who you are.

It’s a great blessing and relief of burden
      — not worrying about the unknowable…
      – unknowable pasts and futures
      – unknowable distances and depths
      – unknowable dreams and delusions

We have more than enough to attend to
      – in this world and solar system
      – in living generations here
      – including those now with Christ
      – just beyond the veil…

      Nonetheless…
      – the weapons of our warfare are not carnal
      – but mighty to the pulling down of strongholds
      – casting down imaginations and every high thing
      – that exalts itself against the knowledge of God
      – bringing into captivity every thought
      — to the obedience of Christ.

      Likewise…
      – we wrestle not against flesh and blood
      – but against principalities, against powers
      – against the rulers of the darkness of this world
      – against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Prayer, with Christ, extends our reach
      – to the utmost, though not our control
      – so the final disposition remains
      – in the hands of The Lord

I do pray, in accord with you I hope…
      – that your grandchildren and your house
      – be certainly saved
      – by way of our only sure hope
      — Our Rock, Jesus Christ, even Yeshua Messiah

The only certainty is in Messiah.

The Lyrid Meteor Shower coincides with feast of unleavened bread this year. The Lyrid meteor shower technically begins on the first day of the counting of the Omer this year. It peaks on the last day and final sabbath of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The peak is very important in terms of meteor showers. The blood moon appears on pesach (passover) and then the meteor shower begins. This is another sign in the sky at one of the divine appointed times. This is a sign for sure. I personally believe it symbolizes a countdown to the tribulation. I just learned this on a secular site that did not connect the two. This information needs to be distributed far and wide. Here is the link to EarthSky speaking of the Lyrid meteor shower. This is no coincidence this is happening with the first blood moon of the tetrads!

      Hey James……get this!

Just yesterday I saw a “still shot” of a guy who was SKY DIVING….who claims he “almost” got hit by a small falling object !!!
you can see the “object” in the photo taken from his helmet cam! Didn’t have “a tail”….but the guy said …”it was mooovin’ fast !!”

THAT would change your day for sure!

  2. ‘Morning! Your comments are right on! Thanks for sharing. Unkind words spoken over do carry weight to the receiver. A few days ago I was saying that depression is very real. Depression is not visible, cannot be touched, cannot be tasted, but it’s “there” with its full blown ill effects.

The only remedy is Christ Jesus. Laying it at the Cross and leaving it there by not “reliving” the circumstances is necessary for Christ to complete the healing.

I won’t say that the enemy won’t try to bring back those awful memories because he will try. Again the remedy is by pleading the Blood of the Lamb over one’s self. Pick up yourself and go on. I know because I’ve been through it and made it to the other side of the spiritual storm.

  4. Amen to all of that, L.A., and great post. The enemy loves to use peoples’ harsh words, when possible, to hurt others.

yes, Richard! How very true! How wonderful a God we serve to provide us the opportunity for an abundant life!

  6. Also … wow … didn’t have a chance to read the HUGE comments section since Thursday night. Maybe just as well! What an eyeball-full … especially the suicide issue.

Just want to say to Richard, Ally, Mrs. Kim, Mrs. M., others of you who have been through the horror of suicide in some form or another … so sorry to have read what you’ve been through. Whether suicide, or any other sin (except the unpardonable sin of unbelief, per Matthew 12:31), a lot of Christians still can’t come to grips with what Christ’s salvation covers … that it covers every sin except unbelief.

That’s not to say our Lord gives the saved a “free ticket to keep sinning”. We struggle to overcome. Even the saved will struggle with sin at various times until our life here is over (remember Apostle Paul’s words in Romans 7:15-25 … where he doesn’t understand at times why he does what he HATES, and knows is wrong, which is due to the sin nature, etc..)

Hoping if anyone reading Friday’s blog commentary has been tormented about the salvation question over losing someone to suicide, or just confused about it, that they will find Kirk’s 3 videos, and some of the replies from Corey, Richard, others, a helpful start. Hopefully all of that will encourage them to study the scriptures on it (in context), also.

It is a sinful world with many sinners, including ourselves. But when a young child is led to believe they are worthless, it turned that sin into something far worse than a lustful look. God bless you in your adults years and your belief, I am sure, is bringing you some peace and contentment. Blessings! Brenda

Amazing. I Read the blog and the song “all I know” started playing in a random playlist on my ipod. The lyrics “I bruise you, you bruise me, we all bruise too easily, too easily to let it show I love you and that’s all I know”. Great timing with today’s blog.

Amen, LA. Hurting people hurt people. Our Lord has provided so much for us. The ability to truly forgive others through the power of the Holy Spirit is one of the most powerful blessings we have, and we cannot experience the abundant life without it. What Satan means for harm, God uses as part of the mix to become the unique person He designed us to be. What an awesome God we serve. Let’s also pray that we will become a source of blessings and not curses to those God brings into our path. Maranatha!

In the 70s I was a psych major with an art minor. It came so easy to me…..probably because of my dear parents who taught me and guided me to turn my life over to Christ. I had a 4.0 grade pt. avg and did all but the internship with the goal of using my art minor to work as an art therapist with “delinquent” kids because I thought those were the kids who were questioning and therefore more teachable than the ones just coasting and being blindly obedient.
But then I was suddenly struck by the silliness of calling it a science and realized that it all came easy because I had been living in it all my life and that it is a sad commentary on our society that a profession had to be invented to take the place of what Christ, family, Bible teaching and fellowship already can do. I quit college and took a job managing an art gallery rather than be an emotional prostitute getting paid outrageous dollars per hour to give what Christ already told us to give freely. Yep, I chose to be a starving artist LOL
But then just to be sure I stayed on my toes, the Lord led me to have 4 sons who all ended up teenagers (not quite delinquents :-) but they had their moments!!!) and a lot of years in professional theater and bar tending to support my art habit! Whew, if those all did not put me in places to witness, I do not know what would!
Thanks for the great bun! There is only one real therapist and our real job is to aim the hurting toward Him and we will have a much better reward someday than $75 an hour. (That was 40 years ago, probably much worse now!) Still glad I am a “rich” starving artist :-)

Great Sunday Bun this morning. Forgiveness is really the key,but at times the most difficult thing to do…..I know in my life I could only do this with the help of the Lord.

  15. Jay said

God bless you L.A. Excellent Sunday Bun! (I look so forward to these each week!) :)

I really needed to hear this today, as I’m sure many here did as well! I grew up in a home with the most abusive, neglectful, alcoholic parents anyone could ever imagine. Nightmare childhood. To make things worse, we were dirt poor and did not have good clothes or even a pair of shoes sometimes. That made for an interesting time at school to say the least. We were teased and taunted everyday! I grew up feeling totally worthless with zero self-esteem. Needless to say, my attitude toward myself made me make some very bad choices and many regrettable mistakes.

Thank God for praying grandmothers!! My “granny” prayed over us grandkids and I know the Lord heard and answered her prayers. One night I had a breakthrough. I was sitting alone in this decrepit old apartment – broke, busted and disgusted. I had been laid-off from my job, my car was repossessed and the bills were piling up. I started evaluating my life, and a flood of memories washed over me. Some so painful that I was knocked to floor. All those horrible things spoken over me and my siblings – all the physical and emotional abuse. All the horrible mistakes I had made – all the people I had hurt. I wept for what seemed like hours. My life had no meaning or purpose and I wanted to die. I was crying out to the Lord asking Him why? Why did this happen? Why was I even born? I felt like I was the most horrible and unloved person in the world. I was so worthless. How could God love me?

After I calmed down, I heard that beautiful still. small voice saying to me, “All the terrible things that you are feeling and thinking about yourself are what other people have spoken about you – that is not how I think of you. I love you and you have infinite value to me.” I literally felt the Lord’s arms wrap around me and for the first time in my life, I truly felt loved. God loved me! He died for me! I had not felt that free in many. many years. Truly, whom the Son sets free is free indeed!

Forgiveness is the key. The forgiveness must come. Sometimes it comes slowly. I had a lot of things and a lot of people to forgive, myself included. It was not easy. But, when you envision our Lord hanging on that cross, dying for your sins…how can you not forgive others?

What a wonderful Savior we have! Praise God!

God bless everyone here! I love you all!

    God bless you too Linda.

  17. This timely bun really hit me between the eyes because I’ve been struggling my entire adulthood to put behind a very painful past (particularly my childhood and teen years), and even though I’m a believer, I still feel, after 30-some years, trapped, not only by the tormenting memories, but by the detrimental effect all my negative experiences have had on me physically, mentally and emotionally. I long for freedom and healing, but all my attempts over the years to find that freedom and healing have led to only temporary relief at best.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, or whether for some people it just takes longer, but I confess lately I’ve started to lose hope. I envy you, LA, and all those who’ve been set free. Sometimes I doubt my salvation because I’m not the victorious Christian I know I ought to be.

Anyway, none of this was meant to provoke any sympathy for myself, simply to point out there are many like myself that, for whatever reason, aren’t “free,” however much they’d like to be. Or maybe we are, and we just don’t know it? I don’t know anymore. But I appreciate the words of encouragement in the bun and I hope one day I can experience that kind of freedom.

    • Corey said

Princesinha… I too wish that I were the victorious Christian like many other are. I still struggle myself and have said before that I too don’t even feel like a Christian much of the time. But I do know that I am saved if nothing else. Not only because of what scripture has to say but I had a very wonderful, supernatural encounter with the Lord about a month or so after getting saved. The bible would speak of this as being “the baptism of the Holy Spirit.” I don’t know exactly what it was that I spoke to the Lord that night, but whatever it was, it felt like the Holy Spirit took charge of my soul for about 5 seconds while an unknown tongue came out of my mouth. Whatever was said it sure felt very adamant. I remember walking around the rest of that night and the next day as though the Holy Spirit was sitting on my shoulder and that I would start speaking that language again at any moment. I remember what I did to get to that spot in the Lord, and I long to be back there. I say all this because if you get into his presence like that, everything else melts away like butter. The secret and the key (I discovered) was “sacrifice of praise.” We don’t always feel like “praising” God when we are in the dumps, but if we thank and praise God for what he has done for us or find anything to praise him for, he dwells in the midst of that. As a result, he will bless you with his tangible presence. And you will know it’s him. This is why scripture calls it a “sacrifice” of praise. When you sacrifice like that, God will honor that because it’s putting your focus and attention on him and not the problem.

“I will offer to you the “sacrifice” of thanksgiving, and I will call upon the name of the Lord” (psalm 116:17).

“Enter into his gates with “thanksgiving”, and into his courts with “praise: be “thankful” unto him and bless his name. If these steps are followed and you pursue him with it and don’t let it go until he blesses you with his presence, he will make a show. I know from first-hand experience. Expect some resistance from demonic forces and/or Satan. This is a secret that he absolutely does not want Christians to get ahold of. And he will throw everything in your path to prevent you from getting to that place, but be persistant like I was. I would do well to take my own advice.

    • Azureceu said

Little Princess, as L.A. said above how the spirit led him back through his life so that he could put these things at the foot of the cross and forgive, the same has happened to me. This work is by the Holy Spirit, I wish I could spit out a sure fire formula according to my own experience and others about how to convince God to do this on demand, but that is the fallacy of a fleshly mind, the spiritual mind on the other hand knows to wait on the Lord. As we wait on the Lord he prepares our hearts, minds and soul through the washing of his Word and at the most opportune time takes us by the hand and leads us into cleansing, we must learn to forgive others so that we also may be forgiven, its a process, an open process, not a secret one, both the perpetrator and the victim need reconciliation. As we wait, we also according to the Word learn day by day how to take the pain and lay it at the cross.
Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
      Psalm 55:22

RENEWING OUR MINDS WITH THE WORD of GOD………washes off the filth of this world ….and what people have spoken!

God’s WORD ….is….HIS THOUGHTS ….that HE thinks toward us.

By thinking upon God’s Thoughts….and DECLARING them over ourselves….we release THE POWER of HIS WORD in our atmosphere!

SPEAKING….PRAYING….SINGING….PROCLAIMING…..are all avenues by which OUR WORDS are RELEASED to address situations.

Please don’t give up hope. Everyone is different, some people are stronger than others. We all have our bad days. I have been born-again for many years now and I still struggle every day. We all do. Stay in the Word of God and in prayer. I know that when I am struggling the most is when I am lacking in my prayer life. Just give all your struggles to the Lord Jesus. You are a child of God – you will be victorious!

“Put on the garment of PRAISE!”

      Good word Kirk!

    • Corey, Azureceu (aka “Bluesky”) & Kirk….I really appreciate the kind words of encouragement. Corey, I actually was baptized in the Spirit myself several years ago (or at least I think I was…I’m at that point right now where I’m second-guessing every spiritual experience I’ve ever had) and was also given the gift of tongues. I remember how amazing that experience was and how close to God I felt then, but even though I still have the gift of tongues, and use it occasionally, it doesn’t have the same effect on me that it used to.

But you and Kirk are absolutely right about praise. That is one area where I really struggle. I’ve been through some really crappy (I hope that’s ok to say?) stuff over the last several years, and I admit, when I’m in the throes of pain, depression and despair, I’m not praising God…I’m weeping and venting all my anger and frustration at Him instead. It’s so, so hard to praise God when it feels like He’s completely abandoned you. (Even though, intellectually, I know He hasn’t.) So I know that’s something I need to work on.

Bluesky, I know forgiveness is key too. I keep thinking I’ve forgiven all those who have wounded me, but maybe I haven’t.

    • Jay, thank you. I’m trying to not give up hope. But thirty-some years of intense pain and some incredibly deep, dark valleys have made me wonder if all the promises I used to believe about “joy coming in the morning,” “all things working together for good,” “beauty from ashes,” and “restoring the years the locusts have eaten” will ever come true for me after all. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from all my struggles it’s that I am indeed very, very weak. The weakest of the weak and the chiefest of sinners. And maybe that’s a good thing to realize.

      God bless you too.

    • Azureceu said

Little Princess, I hear you on the spiritual oppression, don’t think of it as some strange thing happening to you.
It is spiritual warfare if you do nothing you will suffer till it passes, but the objective is to learn how to fight
it. The First rule is to identify it for what it is with out delay then counter act. I’ll keep this short and say you are not alone, there are more for you than against you!

      See 1 Corinthians 14:1-5…..13-15…..18……26……39-40

POWERFUL TRUTH that soooo MANY CHRISTIANS do NOT understand….and therefore do NOT partake of for their own benefit spiritually.

    • Jay said

      Princesinha,

I truly understand where you are coming from. I have quoted all those phrases and had them quoted to me so many times. I have had people to come up to me and say, “you must be doing something really wrong if all these bad things are happening to you…. God only blesses you when you are doing things right!” Can you imagine someone saying that to a person who is in so much pain? Well…I just let those comments slide.
What most do not understand is that the “blessing” is the presence of God Almighty! When I am at my weakest, most vulnerable, most broken is when I am closest to Him! Praise the Lord!

I have long since put away my wishes and wants for what I think will bless me. My blessing comes in the pain and heartaches, because this is when I am closest to the Lord! To the world, that sounds so unappealing. But to those of us who have been in the deepest, darkest depths of despair, we know that the blessing does not come in the form of being delivered out our trouble, the blessing is having Him hold us in the trouble. That is the best way I know how to put it. Hang in there dear.
Remember that the Bible tells us…”My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

I hope this helps. My heart goes out to you.

      God bless you.

    • James 5

7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord.
      – Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth,
      – and has long patience for it, until he receives the early and latter rain.
8 Be also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draws near.

9 Murmur not one against another, brethren,
      – lest you be judged: behold, the judge stands before the door.
10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord,
      – for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

11 Behold, we count them happy who endure.
      – You have heard of the patience of Job,
      – and have seen the end of the Lord;
      – that the Lord is very compassionate, and of tender mercy.

12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not,
      – neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath:
      – but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay;
      – lest you fall under judgment.

13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray.
      – Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

      14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church;
      – and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
      15 And the prayer of faith shall deliver the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;
      – and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed.
      – The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

17 Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are,
      – and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain:
      – and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth brought forth its fruit.

Indeed L.A. and Kirk… We don’t need no stinking therepy. In reading today’s bun, I feel it is very necessary for people to get ahold of this one life-changing, revelatory concept… “Thanksgiving and Praise.” From personnal experience, I know that this is how people can experience the “tangible” presence of God. This is what God wants from each of us. People… hear me well, the enemy does not want you to get ahold of that concept. You need to back up to the middle or so of this comment section and read my response to “PrinceSinha.” If you can get ahold of this and run with it, your walk with the Lord would be transformed. People are destroyed from a lack of knowledge. Your struggles would just fade if people would just grab ahold of this concept. Back up and read the response to PrinceSinha.

Your successful Christian walk and sanity may depend on it!

Nehemiah 8:10 “The joy of the LORD is your strength.”
I will never forget the night the Lord baptized me in His Holy Spirit and I began speaking in tongues. I know that feeling of having the Holy Spirit on your shoulder. I always want to feel that again. God is so awesome!

It’s like being “spiritually covered in anointing oil” ….and NOTHING seems to bother you.
Sure the battle comes, …but, …..The Battle is The Lord’s !!!!

We have all been wronged and some more than others. Harsh words or treatment that go deep into our minds and hearts. We can become so conditioned to harsh words that when we make a mistake or a bad decision we will beat ourselves up with similar words or names. God loves us and washes us as white as snow, we need to believe that and allow Him to heal us from the verbal and physical damage. It’s not for us to carry that hurt that was done to us. Messiah died so that we could be forgiven our sin just as we must forgive those that sinned against us and forgive ourselves. He asked the Father to forgive those that killed him and that needs to be our example.
May you all have peace and refuge in His tender embrace.

Mr. Marzulli, this is a bit of a loose association, but I thought of this scripture in regards to your writing today.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139

  23. Corey said

One more very important thing to understand here in addition to my two responses to PrinceSinha and Kirk up above is that it’s very important to understand and digest what psalms has to say about how God operates when seeking his tangible presence. Psalms says that he “inhabits the praises of his people.”

Christians really need to dwell on that one piece of scripture along with the others quoted above. If you do, you will most certainly get God’s attention. This is how we battle the enemy and demonic forces that are against us… and we will eventually experience God’s tangible presence surround us at our weakest and most glorious moments. This is how you drive away the enemy. Let the above psalm scriptures soak into your soul and meditate on them before you go to bed. Trust me, it works. It may not be immediate, but keep pursuing God relentlessly with it, and it will come to fruition.

  24. The Psalms are indeed wonderful to turn to, especially when encouragement and strengthening are needed, as so many of you have said so well.

      Gotta LOVE them Psalms!!

I read them ….ALL THE TIME….because THEY ARE REAL EXAMPLES….of REAL PEOPLE…..and EVERY RANGE of EMOTION POSSIBLE.

GOD does NOT get “wigged out” when we struggle with “stuff”….BUT….HE DOES WANT US TO US TO APPROACH HIM….in the battle !!!

      RUN TO HIM……..NOT ….from Him.

      Psalm 55:22……..Psalm 57:2……..Psalm 68:19-20…….Psalm 71:1-8…….Psalm 94:22-23

I was thinking about today’s BUN and I realized it’s not always strangers or mere acquaintances that come against us and hurt us…sometimes it can be within our very own family. I feel for most of us, even as Christians, when we are hurt by someone we have a tendency to get defensive and at times we want to strike back and try to get revenge on those that hurt us….unfortunately that’s human nature to want to get back at those that come against us…but as a Christian I had to fight against these urges.
My sister and I have not spoken for years, my question is, what do you do with those that refuse to mend the broken relationship? You try to obey the Lord and talk to them but their heart is hardened and they are too puffed up with pride to reason with?
I have tried many times to patch up things with my sister, however, she remains hostile to me and any attempted at reconciliation….
At this point I feel I am casting pearls before swine, I have forgave her and moved on. Although I wish it could be different, we will never have a cordial relationship and I have accepted that. I have prayed about it and have come to understand; I have to love my sister as commanded by the Lord; however, I do not have to like her, or the person she has become….and since her negativity brings my spirit down I therefore choose not to associate with her under any circumstances…..Since I have forgiven her I no longer feel obligated to carry the burden of unforgivness in my heart , I have done all I can to extend the olive branch only to have it thrown back in my face,,, at this point I feel I have to let it go and let the Lord deal with the situation.

    • cttbbelliott said

You’ve done the right thing by praying for her, asking God to soften her hardened heart. I am sorry for your loss of reciprocated love. I can tell you still hurt over this and that is human. God is carrying you through the worst of it and I hope you recognize that fully. Blessings to you. May you maintain a heart of softness and love for all.

    • Matt, you are right, family hurts can be the worst and IMHO you are doing all the right things. Especially as you say at the end about letting it go at this point for the Lord to deal with. I can relate to some of this also. Hang in there and God bless.

    • Matt said

To tell you the truth lindafromtoronto1, I really don’t care anymore; I gave it to God and moved on….I learned a long time ago about the power of forgiveness.
I carried around bitterness and resentment for someone for two whole years before the Lord slapped me upside me head to get my attention. ……this person carried on with their life and I was in bondage with my unforgiveness and bitterness, only hurting myself….but that’s the enemy’s trick isn’t it? I fell for it and all it caused me was depression and sickness. One night I sat on the steps at my home and felt such great oppression, I told God I was tired of carrying the bitterness and resentment around with me like a ball and chain. This is one of the few times the Lord ever spoke to me in an audible voice….He told me to call this person and ask for forgiveness…I said what????!!! Lord you must have this backward, I was the one wronged!!! Surly you can see that? I knew this was from the Lord as I was pleading my case, as I did not want to do what he instructed me to do… I was like a spoiled child trying to get my way, finally I came to the conclusion it’s best to be obedient to the spirit. So I called with person out of the blue to ask forgiveness….I thought at the time the alternative of not acting on the spirit would be a far worse result for me…which by the way is a great motivator. .When I called this person to ask forgiveness, I’m telling you, you could hear a pin drop, the phone went silent…I told them….Look, I’m truly sorry if I hurt you in any way, and I also want you to know I forgive you as well.
When I tell you this, this is not a joke, when I hung up the phone for the first time in two years it felt as if 1000 pound weights had been lifted off my shoulders….everything felt and even looked different to me…it’s amazing what freedom feels like,,, I was in bondage and didn’t even know it until I was set free. I was able to run into this person around town and talk to them without the feeling of dread and anger, the pitts and knotts in my stomach were completly gone. …all the bitterness was completely gone…to me it was a miracle.
Funny thing is , I look back on that night many years ago and I admit I did not want to obey the Lord…I was actually incensed and upset he wanted to me make the call…but as hard as it was for me , I obeyed the spirit and I made the call and it changed my life…amazing.

In typical fashion, the conversation covers MANY topics!

  29. Psalm 10

Why stand so far off, O LORD?
Why hide in these times of trouble?

The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor
    – let them be taken in whatever they imagine.
For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire
    – and blesses the greedy whom the LORD hates.
The wicked with pride masked on his face
    – will not seek after God, so far from his thoughts.

His ways are always crushing, inflicting pain
    – Your judgments are far above out of his sight.
He scoffs at all his enemies and says in his heart
    – I need not move for I’ll never suffer such disaster.
His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud
    – under his tongue is mischief and boasting.

He sets snares in secret places among the needy
    – and murders innocents in schemes against the poor.
He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den to catch them
    – and catches them like game caught up in his nets.
He crouches by the humble, as they’re felled by his thugs.
    – and says in his heart, God has overlooked me…

(And masks his face, as if God will never see.)

Arise, O LORD, O God, forget not the humble.
    – Lift up Your hand, why let the wicked show contempt?
He has said in his heart, You will not revenge them.
    – But You have seen, for You behold mischief and spite
To requite as is due — even by Your own hand
    – the poor commits to You as the helper of orphans.

So, break the arm of the wicked and any human evil
    – Seek out wickedness till none may be found.
The LORD is King! — for ever and ever reigning
    – the skeptics have perished, cast off of His land.

LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble
    – You prepared their heart and set Your ear to hear:
As judge for the orphan abandoned and the down trodden
    – so that the beast of the earth may never again oppress.

    In brief…
    – as Russ Dizdar says, “Payday someday”
    – and sooner now than they dare believe

  30. Hey Peter, I gotta ask…
    – what’s the subtext for:
    – “not one of the yobbo drongo ocker bloke mates who just go to the pub and party” ??

    Glad you’ve found “neighbors” nearby…
    …my far off brother !! (Prov. 27:10)

Good bun L.A. I am glad that you shared. I remember as a 12 year old, newly water baptized and experiencing the presence of The Holy Spirit, a man praying for me said what is God telling you? ” He is calling me to be a Pastor” I said. “Don’t worry, that feeling will go away, everybody feels that way”, was his response. I waited for over 20 years but it never went away. I know the man never meant anything so significant to me but the enemy used it to hinder. But Praise our God who sets His word in motion and it does what it is intended to, no matter the lie. I believe this process builds humility as we re reminded, the the LORD calls, equips and fights for us.. He is our all in all. Thanks for sharing.

“I give it a few seconds — not even minutes — and then I’m moving again,” says Handscombe, a 35-year-old graduate student in creative writing at American University.

But it’s not just online anymore. She finds herself behaving the same way with a novel.

“It’s like your eyes are passing over the words but you’re not taking in what they say,” she confessed. “When I realize what’s happening, I have to go back and read again and again.”

To cognitive neuroscientists, Handscombe’s experience is the subject of great fascination and growing alarm. Humans, they warn, seem to be developing digital brains with new circuits for skimming through the torrent of information online. This alternative way of reading is competing with traditional deep reading circuitry developed over several millennia.

What is Wrong with the American People?

    Reports

    April 6, 2014

It may be easier to see the true intent of Barack Hussein Obama’s Administration from the Israeli vantage point. That is not to say that many living in the US [in fact I think the majority] have come to the conclusion that pure evil sits in the Oval Office.

If you don’t mind my giving an opinion I will say straight out that Obama is not the real problem, it’s those who control him. He is however playing out his part with an enthusiasm and passion of one who has been raised and taught by the ones who have shown great hatred of the USA, but then anyone who has looked into his past already knows that. In fact the only thing, or people, he hates more than the Jews and Israel is the USA.

There is a very long list of his activities and support for the Islamic terrorists. Sure, we know what he says is quite different and I guess if you are a “dyed-in-the-wool” hypnotized democrat you might even believe what he says. If you do I wonder what it will take to wake you up? What is obvious is that the Democratic party has been hi-jacked by the Devil himself.

If I retraced a few months to back that statement up I could write a book so I will leave it up to you to do your own research. But let’s look at the past few weeks.

Obama has said he would never release the Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard who has been in prison in the US for over 25 years. But he would change his mind if Israel would release 400 Islamic terrorists. What has been so hard to understand is how Pollard could possibly have anything to do with the peace talks that everyone knows are going nowhere and that the so-called Palestinians don’t want peace. They only want the total destruction of Israel and nothing less. For Obama to change his mind on Pollard Israel must release the Islamic terrorists – all of whom have murdered Israelis – mostly women and children.

In the past day or so Obama has opened trade between Boeing and Iran making it possible for them to sell not only needed parts for their fighter jets but the fighter jets themselves. To make sure they could buy what they needed to come against Israel Obama has given them loan guarantees knowing that all the above will be used against Israel. In fact, on top of that Obama has done everything he can to make it almost impossible for Israel to attack Iran before they get the bomb. That is a bomb they made themselves, because most in the know believe Iran has purchased Nukes from any one of several sources. Netanyahu spoke recently about the suitcase bombs Iran has.

Obama has opened the door for Russia to supply Egypt with military jets, and artillery just in case they should want to join in the fight against Israel. As for Syria, Obama has strengthened Putin allowing him to move into the coast with nuclear submarines and battleships. Now with the popularity he has in Egypt they are building another seaport there as well – both now putting Russia within firing range of Israeli cities.

Well, we could go on and on with Obama’s love for the Islamic Arab world but most reading this could add many more items to the above list so I will move on.

What I find so hard to understand is how the American people have sat still over the way he has taken liberty and freedom away from them. He has truly transformed the USA just as he promised he would. But it is not just the USA that is spreading this evil and poison around the world. It would be almost flattering to contribute all this evil to one man. That is how we know he is only a tool that was taught and prepared for his task in bringing about the worst times in human history.

As we watch elections in many countries we are also seeing more anti-Semitic powers forming and Jews coming under more and more persecution. France has many neighborhoods where non Muslims are not even welcome to enter, and the police only go in with a lot of back- up, Sharia Law is being enforced and the politicians are too intimidated to speak out about it. Last year saw more Jews emigrate to Israel than any in the past decade. Jews who have the finances to buy apartments here in Israel have done so and they sit empty, the owners waiting for the last minute to come to Israel. Much like the Jews in the 30′s and 40′s believing that there would be time, but when the door closes and the missiles start flying there will be no commercial airplanes coming into Israel. Those apartments will remain empty and if they can’t find a boat to bring them to Israel they will perish like the European Jews before them.

When I first begin saying these things most thought I was crazy or didn’t know what I was talking about. But that has changed for now they can see the writing on the wall very clearly. The question is; will this ministry and others be equipped with boats and finances to rescue those who will be running for their lives.

Today we have two 60-foot boats and one smaller boat, not near enough for the amount of Jews who will be gathered on the shores to be picked up. For the past few years we have been organizing and coordinating communications and logistics trying to get the word out to as many Jewish communities as we possibly can. There is still a great need for communication and I work on that daily. Working with little resources and knowing we need a larger boat. Because of those who have heard from God and have been obedient in giving, we know we will save some. Yet, that “some” could be a much larger number and when you are talking about Jewish lives numbers count.

I thank God every day for the supporters of this ministry and ask Him to bless them according to Gen. 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, (Israel) and curse him that curseth thee (Israel): and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. We also thank God daily for more time to prepare – for we know so much depends on how much we are ready to go into action.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for our son Joel and all the IDF soldiers. Pray for this ministry and your part in it.

    Shalom, Jerry Golden

This song gave me comfort in the 80’s and it’s so good to hear it again, it’s all about forgiveness….Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

    White Heart

    Seventy times seven

Lord, I got no more tears to cry
Someone has hurt me, done me wrong
    I’m walkin’ wounded, oh
Lord, this pain is a knife of fire
Why does it have to turn out this way
Why do the innocent seem to pay?

    How many times
Must I stand in the waves
    of this crashing sea?
    How many times
Must I forgive all the hurt
    that’s been done to me
Let the jury go, set the sinner free?
    Whoa oh, seventy times seven

    Lord, I really don’t understand
    Well I’m lookin’ round
    for some stones to throw
You’re tellin’ me I should let it go

    How many times
Must I stand in the waves
    of this crashing sea?
    How many times
I hear what you’re saying inside of me
But I don’t understand the mystery of
    Seventy times seven

    How many times
Have You wept from the anguish
    of all my shame?
    How many times
Have I nailed You up on the cross of pain?
You bled from a broken heart
    and I was to blame
    Seventy times seven

    Over and over again
    Seventy times seven
Lord, You know just how hard I have tried
    Seventy times seven
Gotta see that I’m hurting inside
    Seventy times seven
Don’t You know that my pride is at stake
    Seventy times seven
So tell me how much one should take
    Seventy times seven

I saw them in concert with Resurrection band and Russ Taff many years ago….I always wondered what happened to Russ Taff, until one night I was surfing the channels and came across TBN and low and behold, who was standing amongst all the blue hairs? None other than Ruff Taft…I was floored to see him on there…glad he is still going strong but I do question his choice of colleagues ;) Was good to see him singing again, he did a duet with the guy on TBN that has hair that looks exactly like a cotton ball…I forget his name.

Yeah…Russ Taft has a voice that is syrupy and smooth. Very distinctive for sure! he also sings a lot with The Gaithers too!

I, too, saw REZ band a few times! Definitely got “the edge” in their songs…..and vocally powerful.

Get this ….(if i never mentioned this before here)….I got to play basketball with the guys from Whiteheart a few hours before they
did a concert at my college my freshman year (1987 I think).

that same year i also saw Steven Curtis Chapman….WAY BEFORE he became “known”. WOW….even back then, his heart came through!

CHECK THIS OUT!!!! >>>>>Earth, Mars and Sun Align on April 8th! Countdown to the Blood Moon! ( and more! )

    • kirk Domitrovic said

      MARS…..is the planet of …..WAR !!!

Very Interesting since the Blood Moons will begin APRIL 15, 2014. Something to WATCH.

    • Corey said

Ummmmmmm……. yea. Very interesting. Do you suppose perhaps maybe likely certain that definitely it might, possibly fraction of a chance that it could be psalm 83? If so, isn’t that when… you know… you know what I’m sayin…. like that thing?

The planet of war. No coincidences in my opinion.

Just want everyone to know that you are very lucky I don’t have my bible in front of me right now per Friday’s blog. Looks like you’re gonna have another morning to be able to enjoy those pancakes…… BWWAAAAAAAHHHAAAAAAAA!!!!! BWWAAAAAAHHHAAAAAAAHHHAAA!!!! BWWAAAAHHHAAAAAAHHHAAAAA

So drink the milk with the oatmeal already. And soothe the peanut butter nicely over the lightly toasted bread. Enjoy having that crisp piece of bacon. Enjoy that unscrambled egg with the special sauce…. because soon……. BWWAAAHHHAAAAAHHHAAAA!!!!! BWAAAAHHHHAAAA!!! The scriptural gauntlet will be laid down! BWWAAAHHHAAAA!!! BWAAHHHAAAAAAHHHAAA!!!!

I love turning over sacred cows……. BWWAAAHHAAAAHHAAAA!!!! BWAAAHHAAA!!

    • kirk Domitrovic said

      And behind every “sacred cow”…….

………is usually a big pile of crap!

    • Corey said

Kirk… LOL! You would be right on that one. But sometimes I can’t blame people over this particular sacred cow because when you get the right minister doing the right kind of moonwalk and the right kind of scream at the point of the correct dosey doe while reading those knee-jerk scriptures with the correct yell at the correct point of the screech… You walk away thinking…. that has to be it!! So the poor church goer walks out of the church with his/her heavy load and then….. let the misery begin. They soon find out that … Uummmmm… I can’t do this. Standard are too high.

    • Corey said

But then again… ministers are only human. I have nothing at all against them. I know they are doing a hard job and God bless them for doing it. They are called to a major responsibility and I’m sure the load is quite heavy. I just happen to think that this particular subject matter is of the utmost importance for people to understand because it effects their service to God and it effects their spiritual well being. One cannot walk through life with this particular worry hanging over their head like an ax. Very tormenting indeed.

Clarification… speaking of eternal security for those who haven’t read Friday’s blog.

  43. I know the hurt all too well. I was adopted into a Catholic family in 1960 my stepmother spent 12 years of her life in one of their orphanages. She began drinking at 16yrs old and was 32 when she adopted me. 10 years ago, I finally forgave the last person to scar me severely she was a second grade schoolteacher. My unfortunate stepmother had two other children whom she had by birthed. The youngest used to destroy things and blame me. I grew up with a constant “You will never amount to anything,” “No one will ever love you,” “You can’t do anything right.” my favorite pet name “Mr. Know it all.” after my first day of school. That is why God has blessed me with the call “Vengeance is mine saith the Lord.” He will repay, He will restore what the enemy stole from me and the enemy will respect me and the first offering ever made.
