Defecting envoy: Assad will use chemical weapons
Defecting envoy: Assad will use chemical weapons – Israel News, Ynetnews
Waiting……
The days of summer are ticking by and events in the Middle East might be reaching a tipping point. Yesterday one of our warships opened fire on a small boat killing one man and injuring others. (See in Other News section below) There was also heavy fighting reported in Damascus, Syria.
I posted an older BLOG yesterday that pointed out that Syrian president, Bashar al Assad, is like a cornered animal as he is loosing the reigns of power.
We know that several of his top generals have now defected and escaped the country with their families. We also know that Assad apparently has moved his chemical weapons out of storage to positions where he might be able to deploy them. Israel, Turkey and Jordan are all in his sights and while I don’t have a crystal ball to tell the future, it appears that we may be nearing a tipping point. Assad has staved off the revolution brought about by the Arab Spring for months, but it appears that his grip on the country maybe weakening to the point where he will either resort to desperate measures to hold onto his power, or high-tail it out of Syria taking his billions with him.
The player to watch at the moment is Russia. I would estimate that Assad’s fate is in Putin’s hands. If Putin decides to back him and throw the weight of the Russian army behind the dictator then we might see Assad hold on. However, if Putin does not come to Assad’s rescue then he’s left with little choice except to take a last stand and go out with guns blazing.
The powers that be in Iran must be looking at Syria and the manipulated “regime change” being instigated by the west and realize that most probably they are next.
We know that there is already an axis of power between, Iran, Syria and Hezbollah, the radical Moslem group that, for all practical purposes controls Lebanon. I wonder if they will act in concert with each other soon as time is running out. If Assad goes down, one it weakens Iran and the axis overall. The Mullahs in Iran and Moktar Al Sadr (check Spelling) the leader of Hezbollah, know this and they must be sweating bullets as Syria is a key player and in some respects the lynch pin to topple the Shia Crescent.
I believe the Saudi’s are terrified of the Shia crescent and so they are backing the regime change in Syria because they know it weakens Iran. Iran recently sold its oil to Turkey and the deal was done in gold, not dollars, which is like firing a shot over the bow of US interests, as all of the worlds oil is traded on the dollar not gold. This is an act of fiscal rebellion and it will be interesting to see how the US reacts to this.
In closing todays post: The events in the Middle East are escalating. I have pointed out the 9th of Av, which is July 28, this year is right around the corner. This is a day that is one of calamity for Israel as both the first and second temple were destroyed on this date. Coinciding with this is the start of the Olympic Games in the UK. It has been pointed out that there is some very weird graphics and even stranger opening ceremonies planned. We will see what transpires and wait….
Be still and know that I Am God: Behold, the day is coming when I will show my strength on the mountains of Israel.

We will be examining correlations between these two in light of our contemporary times.”

This drought thing is really getting kind of ominous. I live in Ohio and every year for the last 7 years at least we’ve seen this pattern hit and it gets just a little worse every year. Super dry and that simply cultivates more heat.
Middle East is really insanely volatile. It’s anyone’s guess at this point who’s going to set things off first, where, when, and how but I simply can’t see how we leave 2012 without having had something go down over there and more than just a border skirmish.
Keep praying folks!

Eric, I live in Indiana…I feel your pain. We live in the country and I had a dream the other night that I called 911 because the fields all around us were on fire. Normally my dreams are about Disclosure. lol Anyway these dreams aren’t “Dreams” per se, I never get a feeling about them coming true. But still, I feel these birth pangs are getting closer together. Poland had tornadoes yesterday, unheard of for them.
I told my husband to watch out for Israel or maybe Turkey hitting Damascus soon and fulfilling Isaiah 17, and he said, “Maybe they’ll blow themselves up.” I’m not so sure he’s wrong. Very very sad what is going on over there right now.
Eric W. said
Absolutely Julie.
I had to tease some folks down in OU like our friends at Prophecy in the News about “you can take you summer back any time you want!”
but I guess 99 percent of the country is in the same boat give or take.
Strange weather patterns anyone? No question for me we’re seeing increasing “birth pains” across the boards along with the “when you meddle with Israel the wrong way” factor.

You’re welcome, Eric. The trick is that if you add quotation marks around the url, the post goes through immediately, but it’s not a clickable link. [I don't remember if Nome mentioned it, or if I guessed by looking at his posts.]
Without the quotation marks, the post will go through eventually (hours and hours later), and it will be a clickable link.
I forgot a couple of days ago and the post didn’t show up for several hours.
Anyone who uses Firefox can simply highlight the link (not the quotations marks), then right-click and open the url.

Defecting envoy: Assad will use chemical weapons
Former Syrian ambassador to Iraq Nawaf Fares says Assad may have already unleashed WMDs against rebels; believes regime’s end ‘inevitable’
Syrian President Bashar Assad will use chemical weapons against opposition forces and may have already deployed them, Nawaf Fares, the first Syrian ambassador to defect, told the BBC on Monday.
Fares, the most prominent politician to defect since the uprising against Assad began, insisted that the president’s days were numbered but warned he would be prepared “to eradicate the entire Syrian people” to remain in power.
hen asked by the BBC’s Frank Gardner whether that would mean the use of chemical weapons, Fares said: “I am convinced that if Bashar al-Assad’s regime is further cornered by the people, he would use such weapons.”
“There is information, unconfirmed information, that chemical weapons have been used in Homs,” the former ambassador to Iraq added.
Eric W. said
Assad’s father did all that. I’m sure that, for one reason or another, media reports coming out of that area are going to be extremely limited. I have a bad feeling things in Syria are far worse than is generally known. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Assad has already used some chemicals on some of his own people by now.

I read this in Daniel 8:25 today:
“By his cunning he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind he shall become great.”
At first I thought, “What single politician might this describe?”
Then I thought, “What politician is exempt from this description!” Satan has done well over the centuries, imbedding pride deep into man’s heart and man’s systems. I suppose it could be said the Middle East with its grudges that go back thousands of years epitomizes this Satanic plot.

Regarding Isaiah 17:
“This message came to me concerning Damascus: ‘Look, Damascus will disappear! It will become a heap of ruins. The cities of Aroer will be deserted. Sheep will graze in the streets and lie down unafraid. There will be no one to chase them away. The fortified cities of Israel will also be destroyed, and the power of Damascus will end. The few left in Aram will share the fate of Israel’s departed glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.” Isaiah 17:1-3 (NLT)
What about “the fortified cities of Israel” also destroyed? How come I don’t hear the bible prophecy scholars mention this part?

Great point. “Their largest cities will be as deserted as overgrown thickets.”
Maybe thats when they give the land back to the Palestinians. Just kidding. Im going to call the bible answer man here in Denver and ask him his thoughts on those verses.
I would think thats when Revelations 12:14 occurs. The Remnant of Israel flees to Bozrah / Petra in Western Jordan during the last 1/2 of the Tribulation Period which lasts 1,260 days. This is reflected in her being protected for a time (1 year – 360 days), times (2 years – 720 days) and the dividing of time or half a time (1/2 year – 180 days). She is in her place 1,260 days:

In the KJV bible it is a little more specific to just the area of Ephraim ( a particular fotress-fortress of Moshe Zar) and doesn’t include all of Israel. I think this prophecy is in regards to just that area being destroyed not all of “fortified” Israel. Might explain why it isn’t being taught, but nowadays prophecy isnt preached.

latenightlisa,
the fortified cities of Israel that get destroyed is Ephraim which is the U.S.
Isa 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
Isa 17:2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
Isa 17:3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim (U.S.) , and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the honour of the children of Israel, saith Yahweh of hosts.
Isa 17:4 And in that day it shall come to pass, that the honour of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.
Gen 35:11 And Elohim said unto him, I am El Shaddai: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
We have the promise of “a nation and a company of nations” being given to Abraham. This promise passed down, as we understand, to Isaac and then to Jacob/Israel. Israel took as his own, the two sons of Joseph, Manasseh, the first born, and Ephraim, the younger. Israel blessed these two lads, but placed the greater blessing upon Ephraim, even though he was NOT the firstborn.
Gen 48:17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head.
Gen 48:19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations
http://godkind.org/ephraim.html
the honour of Jacob is Ephraim
Hos 9:11 As for Ephraim, their honour shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.

In Ezekiel 38:12 there is a part about A HIT that Israel takes in a previous war … perhaps Isaiah 17 and it talkes about resettled ruins …..against the waste places that are again inhabited, Bill Salis teaches on his version in Revelation Road about the order in which each war unfolds, I think he offers a good description and teaching on the final four wars and the order they happen in.

Some additional info from my notes:
Hagar, the mother of Ishmael, was Egyptian, so the Hagarenes would be her people: Egypt. Apparently this is not generally understood; most say the Hagarenes are unidentified and Egypt doesn’t appear in Ps. 83.
References to Assyria in Ps. 83 are interpreted to mean not Assyria proper (northern Iraq and western Iran), but more likely Syria; the Assyrian empire extended into Syria and Israel. (This clarification came from one of David Reagan’s site, Lamb and Lion; I don’t know if I copied it or re-phrased it myself.)

Americans Joining Disability Now Outpacing Americans Finding Jobs
As this chart shows, since 2008, 3.6. million Americans have been added to Social Security’s disability insurance program. In that same time period, a net total of 1.3 million jobs were lost.
“Amazingly, while fewer Americans are working than at the end of 2008, 3.6 million Americans have been awarded SSDI benefits over the same period. The growing number of people on disability and other federal benefits, combined with weak economic growth, raises serious concerns about the sustainability of the American economy,” Senator Jeff Sessions, ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, says in a statement in response to these new numbers.

“Hillary Clinton Blesses The Islamic Brotherhood
http://www.bibleprophecyblog.com
As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met with Egypt’s new Muslim Brotherhood president, Mohamed Morsi, demonstrators gathered outside the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to protest the United States’ uncritical support for the new regime, which has promised to impose Sharia upon Egypt.
In the days when the U.S. was the world’s foremost defender of freedom, such a demonstration would have been unthinkable: protestors held signs reading “Message to Hillary: Egypt will never be Pakistan”; “To Hillary: Hamas will never rule Egypt” and “If you like the Ikhwan [Brotherhood], take them with you!”
But instead of standing outside with those who were demonstrating for freedom against a radically repressive ideology, the Secretary of State was inside, having a friendly meeting with that repressive ideology’s foremost Egyptian exponent.
It was a telling sign of how quickly America’s international stance has changed during the regime of Barack Obama. “Things change (at) kind of warp speed,” Clinton enthused to Morsi during their meeting. Indeed.
If Clinton had any comment on the demonstration, it was not recorded. During her meeting with Morsi she mouthed platitudes about the new Muslim Brotherhood government’s looming showdown with the Egyptian military, telling the President condescendingly that reaching a mutually acceptable agreement “requires dialogue and compromise, real politics.”
She also assured him that the U.S. would do everything within its power to “support the democratically elected government and to help make it a success in delivering results for the people of Egypt.”
It wasn’t immediately clear whether or not by “delivering results for the people of Egypt,” Clinton was referring to freeing the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel Rahman, mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and a man who had plotted to murder Americans in the hundreds of thousands.
Soon after his election, Morsi announced his determination to work for the Blind Sheikh’s freedom; Clinton was almost certainly far too polite and determined to hew to the rules of realpolitik to rebuke Morsi for this unmistakable insult to the United States.
To have done so would have been a completely unexpected reversal of the line the U.S. has taken since the beginning of the “Arab Spring” uprisings that paved the way for the Brotherhood to come to power in Egypt.
Nor is Clinton likely to have upbraided Morsi for the implied contravention of the principles of democracy in his recent restatement before an enthusiastic crowd of the founding principles of the Muslim Brotherhood:
“The Koran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader, jihad is our path and death in the name of Allah is our goal.”
But of course when Morsi finished nodding to Clinton’s platitudes, he no doubt went back to working on how to begin not making Egypt more democratic, but imposing Sharia upon it.
After all, recently a Salafi leader, Yasser Borhamy, declared that the Muslim Brotherhood was planning to implement Sharia as the main source for Egyptian law. Noting opposition to Sharia in Egypt, Borhamy said:
“What is disturbing in the Islamic Sharia law, is Sharia bothering anyone? We do not say ‘our views on Sharia,’ but we say that we want the Sharia law revealed by God. Would anyone be afraid of the Sharia that establishes justice, [public] interest and wisdom? This is very strange. How is it said that people are afraid of Sharia?”
By “Sharia law revealed by God,” Borhamy meant the Sharia that stones adulterers, amputates thieves’ hands, mandates death for apostates from Islam, and institutionalizes subjugation of women and non-Muslims.
Hardly democratic principles, but Clinton didn’t seem concerned during her meeting with Morsi. And even the likelihood that Egypt, long a recipient of American largesse, will become an enemy of America as it throws off the Camp David Accords and goes to war with Israel is unlikely to shake the entrenched core assumptions in Washington that got us into this fix.
The Obama Administration rejects, as a matter of repeatedly stated policy, the idea that Islam has anything to do with terrorism, or warfare against unbelievers, or the legal subjugation of non-Muslims. An Obama official who opined that a Muslim Brotherhood regime in Egypt would likely be an enemy of the United States because of Islam’s core doctrines regarding the evil of the society of unbelievers would be reprimanded or fired outright for “Islamophobia.”
And so it fell to the handful of protestors outside the U.S. Embassy, rather than to Hillary Clinton, to state the obvious truths: that Egypt under the Muslim Brotherhood regime of Mohamed Morsi will begin to resemble the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where Christians live in fear of being accused of “blasphemy” and either tortured and killed by a raging Muslim mob or arrested and imprisoned by a thoroughly Islamized law enforcement apparatus; or Hamas-ruled Gaza, which encourages a culture of rage and hatred toward Israel and glorifies the murderers of Israeli civilians as heroes.
Even Egyptian journalists have noted with alarm the looming Islamization of the nation’s media, which would mean the end of the free press.
Israel, meanwhile, is taking necessary steps to defend itself from a country that has maintained an imperfect but nonetheless real peace with it for thirty years.
Egypt under the Muslim Brotherhood is virtually certain to be a darker, bloodier, less hospitable place for women, non-Muslims, and anyone who dares to stand for a vision of society other than that dictated by Islamic law.
But the only ones who were concerned about all that on Sunday were the demonstrators outside the Embassy. Hillary Clinton certainly wasn’t.”
Lord have mercy!

It is amazing when the stories come out about what GOD ALMIGHTY is doing in the very lands spoken of by Brother Lynn each day. This ariticle in particluar shows how GREAT IS OU GOD. It comes from Mission Network News found at “www.mnnonline.org”
Here is the wonderful story of God at work in this time of crisis in Syria:
“Syria (MNN) ― Daily attacks. Piles of bodies. Scurrying refugees. There’s still no end in sight for the human tragedy taking place in Syria. In fact, things may just be getting started.
Analysts have long been suggesting Syria’s regime-versus-rebels battle is a civil war. The Red Cross now has actually officially declared the conflict a civil war. But it could be turning into something much greater.
Tom Doyle with E3 Partners returned from Jordan earlier this week. While there, he was mainly meeting with some of the 130,000 Syrian refugees who have fled to Jordan for solace. Speaking with Syrians who had just recently escaped with their lives only solidified the severity of the conflict for Doyle, a Middle East and North Africa expert.
Doyle says with other nations in on the conflict, things could be taking an ugly turn.
“You’ve got Iran sending arms, money, aid–everything to the government to keep the Bashar Assad regime propped up. Russia has been supportive. China even said that they were supportive of Assad. So you’ve got that side that’s strong,” Doyle explains. “Then, you’ve got the Sunni Muslims that are backed by other Arab countries. If the United States would get involved in this, it at least would be a regional war, but this could even spiral into a world war.”
With Syria potentially a world war away from ending its disputes, the distribution of humanitarian aid — and, more than that, the Gospel — is crucial.
E3 is responding in Jordan with blankets, food, clothing and the saving message of Christ. It may seem inconsequential in the light of civil and potentially world war, but after being in Jordan, Doyle says it’s clear that the work has been absolutely transformative. Even some radicals are changing their ways as a result.
“We do know of some Sunni Muslims that had been involved in radical activities: now that they’re in Jordan and away from those terrible front-lines, they have ended up praying to receive Christ as Savior,” explains Doyle.
It’s probably best that believers stay out of the Syria mess politically, Doyle says, but we do need to pray for peace. And in the end, it’s stories like this that truly explain the significance of what e3 and other Christian groups are doing:
“One woman — I’ll never forget this woman — said, ‘When we fled Syria and went into one of these refugee camps, we retreated like we weren’t human,’” says Doyle. The woman went on to say, “‘But the Bible people came.’ (She called Christians the Bible people.) ‘They showed us love, and they gave us food, and they gave us everything we needed for our children. Now we have this great relationship with them.’ And this woman looked at me (and she’s fully covered as a Muslim woman), and she said, ‘I want you to know: I love Jesus now.’”
Many friends of Mission Network News have already committed to support victims of this crisis financially or through prayer.”
And to that I add “AMEN”!!!
Respectfully in Christ,

I personally believe Russia will not back up in a major direct way Syria/Damascus when the time is needed. Syria will fall.
