Sunday Go to Meeting Bun

by

“If any among you are sick call for the elders….!”

I spoke all day yesterday and by mid afternoon I was exhausted.  My host and pastor of the church, Jerry Tomlinson, came up and asked how I was doing. “Not good,” I said, and then added that I thought I would end early, eat dinner and go back to his house and rest, thus skipping the evening session.  Jerry nodded and looked concerned and went back and sat down.  This was at a break and after a few minutes I resumed the presentation.  As I launched into another section I asked the folks who were in attendance to pray for me as I wasn’t feeling up to it.  Rhonda, Jerry’s wife, admonished him saying, what are you waiting for? Then, Jerry came back up front. He called the folks to come up and lay hands on me and pray.  He then anointed me with oil and the people prayed.  Then everyone sat back down and I started up again….

We are used to having immediate gratification in our culture.  I call it the McDonalds syndrome.  Here’s what I mean.  We go to window one and place our order and then proceed to window two, and within a minute receive our order.  It’s almost instant.  I believe that we have taken this mentality into our prayer life and sometimes expect instant results.  While there are times when we get instant results to our prayers there are other times when the answer comes a year later, or perhaps a decade later.  Anyway, back tot the story.

I finished the Power Point presentation of Politics, Prophecy and the Supernatural, and then we broke for dinner.  I ate and felt a little better and then we headed back into the hall for the evening session.  Now at this point, things changed.  I was on fire for the first time since arriving in Kentucky.  I had energy to spare and was practically jumping out of my shoes with excitement.  I was on a roll and went for about 2 hours with the Messengers of Deception, presentation.

All of that above to say this.  There is no sickness in the Kingdom of heaven.  There are no people walking with a limp, there are no withered hands or blind eyes, or deaf ears. There is no cancer, or any other disease.   Yesterday, prayer was answered.  We touched heaven and the God who is there, who loves us, responded.  Thank you Father!

Prayer changes things.  It creates a different atmosphere.  Praise music and worship music also changes the atmosphere.  There are times when my wife and I leave worship music playing when we leave the house.  We just let it play over and over again.  When we return home we can “feel” the difference.   The house is washed!  I love it!

Now onto some prayer needs:

Please pray for Shannon who is 16 years old and is suffering from depression.  She is also cutting herself.   Let’s break the hand of the Fallen One and give her victory in Yashua/Jesus name!

“what are you waiting for?” Good question? Sometimes we not only need to ask, but we need to act on the Word , and when asked, we as individuals hesitate, in fear, instead of jumping on the devil and allowing the Lord to work. As Christians we need boldness in this, like the second baptism the Apostle received in Acts 4:31. Just do it! That allows the Lord to confirm his Word.

  2. So I am asking for prayer for me. I have three rare blood diseases, one I’ve had from conception, the other two came later. I have high platelets and am going to Mayo for radiation (radioactive phosphorus) on Wednesday. I have had prayer for this from many people but it has not gone away over the seven years I have had it. I now have platelets four times normal, as the bone marrow “mutated”. It is called cancer but it is not malignant.
All chemotherapy has made me too sick to take it because of the other disease I’ve had from conception, i.e. Porphyria (the disease of the Stewart family in Scotland). I am afraid of the radiation giving me an atypical reaction, although most people have no reaction to radioactive phosphorus. Please pray that the P32 radiation will not make me sick but will bring my platelets under control. I’id be happy if prayer just healed me completely. This has not happened in years, although years ago I had complete healing of the optic neuritis I had had from Porphyria for eight years, and instant healing of Foot Drop. I know prayer works as I’ve experienced it, but not with THIS particular problem called Polycythemia Vera.

Thanks and God bless everyone here.

Prayers are being said for you Mariel! I have no idea why I remember this but there was a movie with Nichole Kidman a few years ago that had children with severe Porphyria and it was an interesting disease so I read some on it…….I don’t know how old you are but one silly factoid I think was that it often lessens or even goes away after menopause……

And hallelujah that L.A. got such an immediate relief!

I think the blood is God’s specialty! It’s what he chose to be a sign of sacrifice. It even speaks to him from the ground. It was the blood of Jesus that was designated as our detergent. So now, Lord, we lift up Mariel as your child and as one who wants to be able to manifest the power of cleansed blood in her own life. Give her a testimony she can shout from the rooftops. Amen!

Mariel, You probably know more about this than anything I can contribute, but may find this notable: “http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1984936/”

Strange occurrences surrounding the young boy are only becoming worse and more mysterious. That’s creepy! Reminds me of Joye Pugh thinking that Prince William was cloned from the Shroud of Turin and is the antichrist. It’s her theory anyway.

It sometimes escapes us that healing comes from God, not doctors or chemical concoctions or medical proceedures, though He may use these things. Having just suffered a major heart attack on January 4th, I have to constantly remind myself just who is in charge. The doctor told me I had a widow maker. That’s a 100% blockage of the LAD (the major artery). I now have the silver lining to my wife divocing me ten years ago (I’m no longer married, so I’m still here!) OK, corny joke. Anyway, according to the doctors, it appears that some permanent damage was done that impedes my hearts blood ejection rate. I believe God decides what is and isn’t permanent. I also believe that God values the prayers of the righteous. I have been an active reader here for years but have never posted. I have e-mailed LA a few times during his old radio show. I hope that those of you who read this will say a prayer for my healing in addition to your prayers for LA, Mariel, and others. One thing I can attest to regarding suffering such an illness is the fact that God can use it to really focus your attention on the things that are truly important. It’s a shame that it takes such an extreme event for so many to come around. Rest assured, if you belong to God He will get your attention one way or another!

    Thanks,

    Rick

Among his own people, Jesus could do no mighty works, due to their faithlessness…

    Mark 6
4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. 5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. 6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

It’s not Him, we know. It’s that they wouldn’t receive. Y’shua goes on to send the apostles out by twos, with power over unclean spirits, and instructions to shake the dust off their feet wherever the people refused to hear them. Quite a sight that would make… Peter, John, and the rest clapping feet or sandals together on the side of the road before heading on. Something angels wouldn’t mistake, whether rebel or holy.

    Mark 6
12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent. 13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

But later, Christ’s disciples could not cast out a “foul spirit” from a “lunatic” child.

    Mark 9 (Mt. 17:15)
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. 26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. 27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Clearly this “healing” didn’t depend on the faith of the child, but it did depend on the faith of his family, and that of the crowd, which may have hindered, so Christ hurried. As for the disciples, they only lacked the technique needed for a deaf and dumb spirit to be cast out — prayer and fasting, (though some commentaries try to lump them in with the “faithless and perverse” generation of that day, rather than recognizing there are wheat and tares which Christ himself identified in part as a brood of vipers).

Don’t believe satan’s whispers, beloved. Let your faith in Jesus quench those flaming darts from the rebels and shatter the icy barbs of the skeptics. He’s willing. Before I’d even finished reading or clearly understood LA’s request for Shannon, virtue had been drawn from me, and no doubt many others of us. That’s Yeshua’s heart for us.

Hi LA. This is Steve from Michigan. It was great being a part of the folks who prayed, and I so enjoyed meeting you. A part of me wishes I could do what you are doing.

On another note I will send you that “Cat eyes” email soon after I get home.

Where is the laying on of hands in the church today? All our church service is is stand up,sing, sit down, brief announcement, sing some more, sermon and so on and so forth. Several years ago I had a 2nd open heart surgery and one of the women said that I should be prayed over and that the church should lay hands on me. I had no idea what she meant nor do I think that the pastor did. Praise God that you’re feeling better LA and I wish that more knew of this scriptural truth.

2Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Years ago I went to a Jimmy Swaggart revival; this was before his fall from grace, when he was a mover and groover in Gods Kingdom (sarcasm). I was a young baby Christian at that time and didn’t know any better, and certainly didn’t know about false prophets that are loosed on the world. Anyway, I went down to the front for prayers, and oh yes, the laying on of hands was hot and heavy this night,,,, folks being slain in the spirit to the left and right of me, as soon as they got a little blue blanket to put over someone, there would go another one, bodies literally flying everywhere, it was quite a show. Then poor bother Swaggart got to me, with two very large men who looked more suited for security work at a casino, compete with the 3 piece suits, ear pieces and sun glasses, behind me to catch me just in case I “fell out” or tried to run which I admit did cross my mind,…. Well, I guess I didn’t read the script, try as he might he just couldn’t put me down, he tried, oh how he tried, at one point it was like a vice grip on my forehead, if I did pass out it I figured would be from loss of blood flow. He quickly realized I was not going to be a part of the puppet show, and continued down the line for others that seemed more willing and with obvious experience in theatrical work. I do believe in laying hands on folks that need prayer, however, some charlatans in the Christian community have perverted what was initially intended for good.

One thing I have learned in this life and can attest in living color that God is never early, never late, but ALWAYS on time. … Waiting for answers to prayer is like walking through the fog, and then suddently, all at once, the sun shines. God does listen to our prayers and he answeres them too. Sometimes our (my) ego’s stand in our way to recognise, hear and see his answers. Another reason why some think think he does not answer prayers is because they expect Him to “grant our prayer” exactly the way we (I) wanted a situation to turn out (again the ego thing) – and if it is not granted in the exact way we dictated to God, our (my) ego steps in and says “God is not listening to me”. Sometimes I think we (I) behave like naughty children with God.

Listening to the Book of Luke very early this morning, it very definitely caught me attention that Y’shua touched the bier of a young man that had died, as they were carrying him out of the city.

    Luke 7
12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. 14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. 15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. 16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people

    Amen!

Why do you reckon Luke thought it worth noting that Jesus touched the bier?

    • My guess is that because Jesus obeyed the Torah, he would not have touched the dead person, so instead touched the bier.

Numbers 19:13: Whoever touches a dead person, the body of anyone who has died, and does not cleanse himself, defiles the tabernacle of the LORD, and that person shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not thrown on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is still on him.

I opened my local rag mag, I mean newspaper this morning and here are the headlines that made the front page. Usher refuses to pay ex’s legal fees in custody fight, Kelly Clarkson dating Reba’s stepson, Madonna injured in video rehearsal, Whitney’s daughter wants to change her name…
Now I ask you, is this acceptable from a newspaper in the 4th largest city in the US? Is this so called news, worthy of front page status? What CEO in their right mind would sign off on these as good stories? I suppose the same ones in Hollywood that green lights these endless non stop Alien movies. From the fluff reporting you would think everything is fine with the world. It’s a sad day when my local newspaper, which is owned by the Hurst company is reduced to stories the National Enquirer wouldn’t run., I guess the next the headline I read will be,,, Bat Boy found eating at a local Denny’s.

Hey Matt! It was about 15 years ago that I noticed a news paper vending box as I left the suburbs of Detroit…..there were headlines about some scandal in gov’t. and NFL or basketball…..something to do with fights and penalties etc.
Don’t know why but as I pulled into what would become my new town and went into a restaurant….the same kind of box with the local paper. The headline was “Local woman bags big buck” with a picture of a lady smiling next to a deer in the back of a pick up truck with sub line about a wild game dinner at a church and the other articles were about high school kids and a new store.
I said to my traveling buddy, “I want to live here!”
      and now I do!
