Commentary & Analysis

Russian, French warships off Syria, Iran, US drones over Iranian coast

DEBKAfile, Political Analysis, Espionage, Terrorism, Security

Over the weekend while fans were cheering Tebow and noticing the 316 yards that he tallied up in completed passes – some have likened this to John 3:16 – the Middle East moved closer to war.  Now I ask you this, which of these two events will affect our lives more, Tebow’s “miraculous” win, or an all out war in the Middle East?  For those of you who picked Tebow, please leave this BLOG immediately and google, Casey Anthony’s new hair cut.  Just kidding…

I believe that there is a perfect storm that is fast approaching.  We see the signs all around us – please scroll down to the In Other News Section and see for yourself – as the world continues to experience unprecedented weather ‘events.’  I believe that these are the birth pains that Yashua/Jesus warns us will preceded the Tribulation period.  Note: We are seeing these signs now so this begs the question how much more will we see, before we are taken out?

About 8 months ago I posted a commentary on this BLOG about the Iranians closing the Straights of Hormuz.  I also pointed out that the Iranians have sleeper cells in Yemen and that they could also attempt to close the Gate of Tears, which is another oil, “choke-point,” in the Red Sea.  If they were to do this, they would halt about 60% of the world’s oil.  What we see happening in the Middle East is a series of moves and counter moves.  The elephant in the room is Russia as they are backing the Iranians and the Syrians.  To me, this may be a warm up to the “hook in the jaw” that the prophet Ezekiel spoke of 2600 years ago.  Only time will tell us what we are looking at as the future unfolds.

In closing today’ post: I received lots of emails and comments on the Sunday go to Meeting Bun, all of which thanking me for taking a stand and alerting the folks as to what is going on.  If Russia throws her weight militarily behind Iran and Syria then the ante is raised.  Last summer the Russians moved the S300 anti-missile system into Georgia, which acted as a deterrent, blocking the Israelis’ from attacking Iran from the North and bombing Iran’s reactors.  Now with Russian ships off the coast of Syria, it seems plain that the Russians are in the game for keeps.  This latest move is a wake up call for the United States, as this is not going to be another Shock and Awe lopsided war that we fought with Iraq.  The stakes are clearly much higher, as the former super power is throwing her weight on the side of Iran and Syria.  Waiting in the wings is Pakistan, which has nukes, as well as China, and India.  I have never seen the situation so tenuous as it is now.  If you don’t have food and water it would be a good time to begin to stash some of these essential items now in preparation for what may be coming.  We should also be praying for the peace of Jerusalem, as the real target in all of this is Israel.  We can choose to sit back and relax as we watch the Sunday game and believe that all is well, and it’s business as usual, or we can understand the signs of the times that are screaming at us and like the wise virgins have oil in our lamps.  Prepare now!

Watchers 3 & The Cosmic Chess Match!

I just finished reading The Cosmic Chess Match and Politics, Prophesy, & The Supernatural. Great stuff!  Because I just recently read them your theory of the Luciferian Dialectic is fresh in my mind. As I was browsing through various media outlets today one headline in particular caught my attention. It describes a meeting between the Israelis and the Palestinians hosted by Jordan. I thought this might interest you.

Regards,

Eric Reeves

I watched Watchers 3, when I got home…it was well done and very informative and a good job….
I was especially intrigued by the Shroud and Hopi discussion ….. maybe Stan Deyo will tells us more what was said to him in Watchers 4.
Keep up the good work…it seems every Watchers series that comes out is better than the previous.

Again, keep up the good work. Thanks.
 Jim

Alarmist. You also forgot katy perry’s divorce!

Seriously though, most people have NO idea how close we are to some major problems. At work, I’ve raised concerns about various business ops, because of the the shaky economic ground those (bureaucratic) government agencies are on. (These are european and other gov’t economic agencies seekingsome of my companies services)

I said to my boss, are you sure we want to pursue this business, they’re having economic issues, massive debt, etc. How can they pay us?

My boss said “not my problem”

    !!!!

I almost wanted to say, if they don’t pay us, you don’t get paid.

Really makes me wonder if this Hormuz thing goes down, how should we be reacting. Do we go to work? Stay home, and hole up for a while? Get the F out of dudge?

So right on, L.A.! I know we all like to think that the disasters always happen someplace else to other people…..but those other people thought that same thing just before it happened! Those folks on that lake in China probably thought their big lake would always be there just like me and my neighbors could not imagine Lake Michigan (which takes up 22,400 square miles) drying up…..but really, what if that niagara escarpment slipped and the lake ran off to cover Wisconsin or a pole shift sloshed it to form a new sea in Missouri? God can do anything he wants! He loves us and any loving parent wants his children to be prepared!
Since at this moment, (as I heard on the radio this a.m.) every Michigander lives within 5 miles of a river lake or stream…..my biggest prep is not on the water itself, but on the purification of it. but still, I have a couple weeks worth in jugs and ready. Mountains will melt, sink holes will form and the waves and the wind….etc. God bless and thanks as always!

I am tired of even looking at MSN on my desktop anymore. Thanks to reading Lynn’s blogs for years, I now check Debka File often daily. It seems to be the most viable source as to what is going on overt there, which affects the whole world.

    God Bless

    • Elaine said

Yes and even Fox feels like I am being fed a line of propaganda. I love L.A.’s concise list of daily news (Not so much to have to study at a sit so I come here first and if ever there was anything he missed I can be sure one of the crowd here will submit in the comments.) and I go to the Deyo’s, Quayle’s and Trunews now instead of any of the MSM and then there is good ol’ Larry Taylor who diligently sends items with subject lines so concise that I usually don’t even have to open them to know what EQs and war moves etc are happening…..If it wasn’t for House, Falling Skies and Boss, I think I might get rid of TV altogether except that my kids pay for it….LOL guess I will keep the boob tube.

Christ means anointed, as with oil. He has an abundance since the Holy Spirit is poured out through him like rivers without measure. If you want more oil – he’s the source. Such as may be needed to keep your lights on in a world of darkness.

As for bread and water… the Bread of Life and to use for the Washing of the water of the Word, don’r forget to stock up on Bibles.

    Along with the tangibles….

  5. Gina E. said

Part of me thinks “It cant be much longer before He comes to get us” but actually it can be as long as God wants it to be. His restraining hand is almost visible now. Know what’s even more miraculous? I don’t have the numbers, but look at how many Jew-hating Muslims are in the Middle East compared to how many Jews.. these haters can’t wipe them out. Their stated goal is something like shoving all the Jews into the sea but spite of all their numbers and rockets they cant make it happen. In a superficial sense, it’s almost comical, like the old RoadRunner/Coyote antics. I’m stocking up on water and canned goods like you said, but I sleep really well knowing that God is still in total control, and He wont let Israel be destroyed.

You mean Casey Anthony’s has new hair cut?? Must have missed that while reading the news on Octomom and the Olson twin’s new movie…OctoTwins, a Wes Craven directed horror movie due out later this spring.

Iranians closing the Straights of Hormuz

The US needs to remember that it is not Iranian ‘national interests’ that drives their behavior…far from it. From the Iranian point of view this is a religious confrontation and they will win a great victory because their god will lead them to a great victory. To the Iranian government the Americans are just the 21st Century version of the 12th century Crusades….. Those Crusades were defeated, and they firmly believe that the Americans will likewise be defeated–-because that is what their god wills……..

    • Late Night Lisa said

That’s exactly right – they really do live in a past “Crusades” mentality. When I was in Israel I got the run down on this. In the US we are geographically isolated from even considering that this history continues to shape the minds of people in the M.E. All-in-all we are pretty darn naive. It also effects the Jews in that when they consider Christianity they recall the fruit of the Crusades for their people @ the time. They live in an ancient land and drive by these historical locations so the thoughts about the Cursades remain.

    • Bingo Matt. I talked to my brother about the possibility of Iran closing the straight and his first response was they were just saber rattling and they would never do this because of how many countries would be mad at them. I felt like screaming, “they don’t care.”

Their objective is to create global chaos and that isn’t tough to do.

    • Gina E. said

Youre right, they dont care, and they DO want chaos.. but you’d think they would have sense enough not to cut off their own revenue by withholding the oil? Is it just me or is that a really stupid move, to close the Strait?

    • Yes, it IS stupid, but you must address the religious reasoning behind these actions. Muslims believe they can quicken the coming of the Mahdi by creating chaos and the Muslim savior will come and fix the world by making the entire world the nation of Islam.

Revenue for oil (or self preservation) has nothing to do with it.

    • Its like the cold war tactics of M.A.D., mutually assured destruction. How do you threaten a society who is suicidal with destruction? You can’t.

    • nomemoleste said

Speaking as a Christian and not an American nor a westerner… don’t worry about threatening them.

It’s the job of the angels to remove the tares from the wheat. We’re instructed not to root them out. That way both grow to maturity. And the wheat is not uprooted in the process. Jesus said bless them and pray for them.

      Matthew 5
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

My imprecatory prayers against the demons and idol high places of the damned have changed recently from questions about why they’re still allowed to go on? (The answer is “wheat and tares.”) And my prayers are changing to how to help get the lost out? And the answer is “love them, bless them, do good to them, and pray for them.” And by the foolishness of preaching, tell them.

Threats won’t make a difference. Which does not reduce the responsibility of lawful authority to rain holy terror down on those harming innocents, however best it is to protect them. Hopefully waged mostly by the angels. Culminating in the Day of the Lord.

It’s just that the rescue mission goes first. Where do you think Christ is spending the greater portion of His time and attention?

    • I am with you Nomemoleste, I am not endorsing threatening them. I am pointing out that the secular means of affecting the actions of nations will not work in a predictable manner with Iran. They have different drivers and agendas that will lead us to wwiii, no matter how much the media and administration minimize or spin the situation.

You are right that as Christians, we have a different purpose when dealing with our enemies. Satan’s wrath is great for he has by a short time.

LA, I enjoy your site more and more every day and I agree with you on just about everything especially your position on Israel. In the last few days I have listened to a couple of different Steve Quayle interviews including one with Russ Dizdar about the “Black Awakening” and I have spent literally hours visiting your site as well as Stan Deyo’s among other good Christian sites. On top of that, I am reading Tom Horn’s book “Apollion Rising 2012″ right now [great book for anyone who is interested]. However, I grew up being a huge sports fan and every once in a while, it is important to give your brain a little time off. I got to tell you, it was refreshing to just watch that game yesterday,
especially watching a great young Christian man like Tim Tebow giving glory to our King. If we don’t give our minds a breather now and then, we could go crazy. I am a self employed carpenter [laid off a couple of years ago] who is barely making the mortgage payment these days so a vacation is out of the question. A football game on the big screen in my man cave is about the only affordable way to relax these days.
I’m sorry for the rant. I do fully understand your position on all the distractions that are in front of us these days.

    • Clang, Tom Horn’s got another book coming out that he says will be better. It should be interesting to see who the next pope will be.

And yes our brains need rest and God doesn’t condemn anyone for watching His servant Tebow play for the glory of God but that only applies to Denver and maybe the Saints. :) I had no clue who he was (about a month ago) and checked out his wiki page and youtube videos…he’s the real deal. Who would ever think he was born in the Philippines and they have an orphanage there….and a Tebow foundation.

I hear ya Eyeballs. Can I call you eyeballs? I have heard Tom discussing Peter the Roman recently and it sounds like it will be a fascinating book. I believe we should keep him in our prayers because there are certain powers in the Vatican who will not like the info in this book. Malachi Martin among others may have paid with their lives for divulging evidence of satanic rituals in Rome. Tom has become one of my favorites along with LA, Stan Deyo, Russ Dizdar and Steve Quayle. His research into genetics and the possible repercussions is second to none.

James 4 has quite a lot to say about the current situation:

[War comes from wanting land, or oil, or luxuries, and such...]
1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

[But what people really need they don't ask for, such as grace.]
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God
    .
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith,
God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

[The real war is with the rebel angels, who make puppets of the proud.]
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

[So don't think that humans are the only factor....]
11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother,
speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

[Nor that you really know the right moves in the Cosmic Chess Match. Such as when to take by force and when to sacrifice.]
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. 16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

[Better is to do what you know is right, such as loving God and loving your neighbors … even if they’re enemies now.
17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Because our war isn’t so much with people as with those higher powers that waste them in futile rebellion against Almighty God.

IF ONE DOES WATCH THE DEVILS TELEVISION, ONE MUST VIEW IT WITH A SPIRT OF DISCERNNMENT EACH AND EVERYTIME ONE VIEWS ITS CARBAGE. WHEN I WATCH A FOOTBALL GAME, WITH THE THOUSANDS OF HEATHENS AT ITS ARENA. IT REALLY PUTS THE WORD REMMNAT IN PROSPECTIVE .SEEING THE THOUSANDS, WHICH PROBABLY DOES NOT LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL THIER HEART, SOUL, MIND AND STRENGH ( AS QUOTED FROM THE LORD) MAKES ME, ALEAST ALWAYS WONDER IF THE TRUE LOVERS OF GOD IS A REMMANT. A SELECT FEW HAND PICKED AND SET ASIDE FOR THE MASTERS LOVE FROM THE MAKER OF THE UNIVERSE, OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

    • Matt said

Funny, I always thought the “DEVILS TELEVISION” was TBN.

John, I really don’t understand you comment, please help me with this.
“WITH THE THOUSANDS OF HEATHENS AT ITS ARENA”

Because one may enjoy watching football or any other sport for that matter does not make them any less a Christian or are they a “heathen” for attending a sporting event.
I went to the Texans playoff game on Saturday; did I have a good time? Heck yes I did. In the grand scheme of things God most likely doesn’t give a flip I was at a playoff football game. I been to many sporting events in my lifetime and it has not corrupted me yet…I still love the Lord with all my heart. At the game Saturday, I did not drink alcohol, I did not curse during the game…heck, I didn’t even glance at the cheerleaders. The only real sin involved in going to the game was paying 7 dollars for a hotdog. The group I went with was from my church, a group of 20. I respect your opinion John but I feel your view is slightly off base, however, I understand that is the way you feel about it. Only God alone knows the hearts of the 78,000+ spectators in attendance. Not everyone there is a choirboy of course, but not all of them are hell bound either. That’s just my opinion for what it’s worth, not trying to cause any controversy.

    • Elaine said

Okay Matt! I am so glad that you had fun and went to the game! And remember, Christ went among the lost and hung with those dastardly tax collectors and wine bibbers (hope you are enjoying a glass now, L.A.!) In fact, coinky dink of the day: My son came to my town on business today and insisted on taking my other son, his wife and me to dinner…..well, the best restaurant in town is at the Native American’s casino. We went and had a lovely meal and he always tries to give me money because he is a good son and knows I must live frugally. I always argue that he needs to put it towards raising my grandchildren and the Lord takes care of my needs. Well, tonight when I said “No” he said, “Mom, ya know I am gonna give ya money so I’ll let you choose, this (holding out a $100 bill!!!) or $20 in a slot machine. You pick”
Well, I said “Okay, $20 in the machine” and then when he put the bill in I went to cash it right back out without playing but he said”Oh, no ya don’t! You have to at least play once” And I said, “Okay, on the condition if I win you let me give your $20 back”So I hit the spin button and won $131…….hmmmmm, ahead $111 and I didn’t take my boy’s hard earned money…..did I sin? Seriously, I would like your opinions! And that son’d name is Matt!!!! WOW

OF THE MASSES THAT ATTEND THESE GATHERINGS, I CAN ALMOST CALCULATE THE RATIO TO BE ONE OUT OF MAYBE ONE HUNDRED BEING A TRUE BELIVER. MOST ARE BUSY WITH THE GAME ITSELF, WHICH TAKES TIME AWAY FROM THE GOSPAL, LET ALONE THE DANCING GIRLS, THE SCREAMING AND YELLING AS IF ONE POSSESSED. IT REALLY GOES ON AND ON WITH THIS TYPE OF ROMAN AMPHITHEATER GAMES . AS LIKE ROME, WE WILL FALL LIKE ROME. WHEN A TRUE CHRISTIAN PARTAKES IN THE FOLLY OF THE WORLD ,THAT BELIEVER MUST ALWAYS BE ON GUARD THAT HIM OR HER DOES NOT GO TO FAR OVER THE FENCE AND MINGLE WITH THE HEATHEN. AS OUR LORD DID SAY. Romans 14 (cp. 1 Cor. 8)
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.
14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of: 17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

    • Let’s not be so harsh on the “heathens”. None of us were born with snow white robes and brother Paul of the gospel was among the greatest heathens. Unbelievers are everywhere, even in church itself.

Jesus ate and drank with the sinful. Yes guard your heart and spirit against ungodly influences, but you can’t minister to them by watching them disdainfully from afar. We are called to be fishers of men. Won’t catch a fish unless you cast a line in… Or is that to rednecky of a reference ;-)

    • Speaking of football and the joy of TIM Tebow in the comment below, I never saw so many “heathens” talking about Jesus and glory to the Lord. :-) Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Lol

    • Matt said

I’m sorry I couldn’t help but laugh at the “DANCING GIRLS” comment.
It was like something someone would say in Gun Smoke rerun.
I think they are called cheerleaders, “DANCING GIRLS” would have them in a saloon at around 1889, but I get your point.

“I CAN ALMOST CALCULATE THE RATIO TO BE ONE OUT OF MAYBE ONE HUNDRED BEING A TRUE BELIVER”

Man, how can you say that? You really have no idea how many Christians there where at the game, and to say you do is so judgmental it’s really absurd
Only God would know the exact number. Your poor attempt at a guesstimate is so far off base it would leave Alexandre Grothendieck scratching his head.

“MOST ARE BUSY WITH THE GAME ITSELF, WHICH TAKES TIME AWAY FROM THE GOSPAL”

Are you completely serious? I have a feeling you are a jokester and pulling my leg here. So what are you attempting to say in your post? That God expects us not to live a full and blessed life, where it a sin to have a nice time?
If this is the God you serve no thanks. I will pass.
This is kind of thinking that drives folks away from Christianity. God wants us to live a happy life and to enjoy life as much as possible on this earth. Nowhere in the bible does it say we have to be miserable as we live here to be close to God. Taking your kids or your dogs to the park might bring joy to some, which takes time away from the gospel as well, does God frown upon that? Ya know, I don’t even want to go into it as it so far off base I can’t even get a handle on that type of reasoning

THE SCREAMING AND YELLING AS IF ONE POSSESSED.

Its called excitement, I scream and yelled when I go on rollercoasters, its normal, I’m human, and that’s a part of the way God made us, with emotions. . I go to Christians concerts all the time, just went to see Third Day not long ago, kids where screaming ,even some of the adults there where screaming ,they are excited and having fun, where is the sin in that ? As a child I use to scream when I heard the ice cream man drive down the road towards my house, and my wife will probably tell you, I still do. I suggest you go out and live a little if you can, it’s such a shame to hear about someone that believes God is this big boogey man kill joy that’s out to stomp out Christians having fun.

    • Matt said

Elaine I don’t believe you sinned at all. First of all what is a sin is to gamble money you don’t nessasairly have or can afford to gamble. If your kids need food and shoes, no you should not gamble. Secondly, sounds to me like your son was trying to let you off the hook with the 100.00 which he knew you did not want to take, and probably wouldn’t. He wanted to give you something and the 20 in the slot was just for fun, entertainment purposes in his eyes. He knows you are not a hard core gambler, don’t sweat it. If you feel you sinned in your heart just ask God to forgive you. By the way, are you available the next time I go to Vegas, sounds to me like you are good luck, hitting on the first pull, my gosh…consider it a blessing .

“And that son’d name is Matt!!!!”

Well, Elaine, naming your son Matt was probably your first mistake :)
Let’s hope he turn out like the Matthew of the bible.

    • Elaine said

Thank you Matt! And yes, it was to take less of his money and he would have stuck the $100 someplace in my house and then called me from a hundred miles away to tell me….that is how he is! And I think Matthew is a great name and I truly cannot think of a single Matthew that I have ever encountered that wasn’t just one of God’s greatest creations! (Present company definitely included!) and about your response to the “dancing girls” post……yeah. Funny that one of the best shows ever with cowboys and dancing girls had a marshal named Matt! Signed, “Miss Kitty”

    • Matt said

By the way, I don’t go to Vegas to gamble, I do to see the shows, and not the “DANCING GIRLS” shows either, wholesome family shows only. thank you.

    • Matt said

Elaine, you are blessed to have a son that loves you so much, he sounds like a great guy and with his name being Matt, how can he be anything else? ;)
I do the same with my mother, she won’t take a cent, and I have to slip it in her purse when she is not looking then call her a few hours later and tell her it is in there. Takes her all day to find it as her purse is as big as a large suit case, but eventually she finds it,,,then tells me she won’t spend it and is saving it for me…lol ohhhhh what can you do with mothers? Sad some of us that are still blessed to have their mothers with them don’t realize what a blessing it is. Fact is, no matter what age you are, you never stop being a parent, it’s a lifelong obligation and commitment.

    • Elaine said

okay…..wouldn’t it be just so bizarre if you ARE my Matt and you just never told me you are a “Marzulli fan”??????? That would be my Matthew’s sense of humor. He’d have his brothers all watching this blog and he say something like “Hey, I tricked Mom into taking money or playing a slot machine….now watch what she says on the internet….” LOL

and never ascribed to the old saw “a son is your son til he takes him a wife but a daughter is your daughter the rest of her life”
In my experience my son’s are always my son’s and they have married to give me beloved daughters!

    • Elaine said

He truly does work in mysterious ways!!!!! I was looking for something to bring here to John S because it makes me sad to think he doesn’t think he should be allowed to have fun or watch a game and still be a good Christian……but I stumbled upon this that answered my own dilemma about my big night of gambling…..A person may knowingly choose, of his own free will, to unconditionally give something away as an expression of good will or kindness, with no obligation for the receiver to offer any compensation in return. Bible examples are:

Ephesians 4:28 – One who has earned goods by his own labor may choose to give to others in need.

2 Corinthians 9:6,7 – We should give willingly and cheerfully, not grudgingly. Note: If gambling fits this, then we should all gamble bountifully!

Acts 20:35 – It is more blessed to give than to receive. Do gamblers consider giving to be more blessed than receiving?

1 John 3:17,18; 1 Corinthians 13:3 – Giving must be motivated by love, compassion, and desire to help others. Is this what motivates gamblers? No, they agree to give (if they lose) only because they want to win what others possess!

Again, gambling does not fit this category because gamblers do not give willingly, freely, as an act of love or compassion.

      (Other passages: Matt. 19:21; 25:35; 2:11; Acts 2:45; 4:34,35)

God authorizes three legitimate ways for people to obtain property from others. Gambling not only does not fit any of them, but it clearly contradicts and undermines them. Hence, it is a morally illegitimate way of obtaining others’ possessions.

My mother’s up in age and one regret I have is telling her about this blog and LA, she is now a big fan and reads the blog daily, which is fine until I hear her say, I saw what you wrote, you shouldn’t have this this or you shouldn’t have said that…I get taken to task for my comments so I try and be on my best behavior.
John S reminds me of my brother who no matter what refuses to be joyful in this life. We live in the same city however, I see my brother about once a year and sadly that’s about all I can tolerate. He just brings my sprit down when I see him, I love him of course but I choose not to be around anyone who’s # 1 goal is to have a pity party and wants me to be just as miserable as they are. No one said life is going to be easy, quite frankly it can be pure hell at times, but to dwell on it only gives the devil a foothold, we should be thankful and praise God even during the bad times although it may be difficult for us. It’s easy to praise God when everything is going right, your marriage is going well, you job is secure and the cash is flowing in, but like LA’s writes in his new book about the devil coming against Job, the devil is no respecter of person and as Christians we can expect a brutal fight, however, we must continue to praise God always,in the good times and bad and never give up the fight.

I wake up every morning and think “This is the day the Lord hath made and I am glad in it!” no matter what troubles may be lurking in my life. I feel sorry for those who just can’t seem to find joy. Everyday is an adventure that He will guide me through even if some of the stuff that happens is not pleasant.

I think as a Christian a casino is the last place I should be, not because of the gambling, but because there are way too many temptations and if you are not strong in God’s word you will surely fall. I like Vegas personally, but when I go I don’t stay on the strip, I stay outside that area like in Summerlin and just go into the strip to see the shows and enjoy the nice restaurants.

    • Elaine said

Yeah, I have only been to Vegas once for a Steel Workers convention that he had to go to. I liked the architectural wonders and the art best,,,,,I guess because I spent my own main career in life as a theater scenic artist and that whole town is like a huge “set” but the casinos are just so noisy and all that ding ding ding and buzz buzz noise made me queasy. It does fascinate me to watch the people all glazed and just hitting a button and watching fruit spin. Not my idea of fun…..looks so boring!
Our casino here in northern Michigan is a very different place! And it kinda cracks me up…..I say, “The Indians (I know, not PC but they say it here) lost everything because the white man was greedy and now the Indians are getting it all back because the white man is still greedy!” LOL But they do have a good restaurant and we get there once every year or two because it has one of the few big banquet rooms and weddings and city functions, etc. rent it. but even though the ambiance is more north woods and stone in soft earth tones with not a sequin or skimpy outfit in sight, all that ding ding ding and buzz buzz noise still make me queasy. My biggest temptation there is the temptation to have a dessert! and the temptation to leave and get out of that irritating racket!

ABC News on the Tim Tebow Effect

    • latenightlisa said

He’s certainly had an effect on my husband. He’s been talking football & witnessing to everyone I over hear him talking w/on the phone about true Christianity & Jesus Christ.

It’s a common topic of interest that opens doors to people that might not otherwise lend an ear to hearing about Christians, their faith in Christ, & the good “fruits” that comes from walking w/God.

For my husband it works w/the type of people he’s around day to day in the business world. For me – not so much. I just don’t have a real passion for sports/football.

    • Wow, I was totally angry at this ABC news clip and yet I shouldnt be surprised. They basically disregarded his faith and chalked up the Denver’s wins to Tebow’s encouraging management style. And while this maybe true, where in the hecks do you think he gets this optimistic, hopeful and encouraging “management style”. Only the greatest boss ever, his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. How dense can you get or are they that stubborn they must try and point to everything but Jesus? Pathetic!!

Are Christians even supposed to watch football?

Tebow “Jesus” Jerseys: Harmless or Sacrilegious?

Fans of Denver Broncos’ quarterback Tim Tebow have created custom jerseys that feature the name “Jesus” displayed above Tebow’s number, according to KTVQ.
While some say the shirts are simply a way to honor the proudly Christian player, others are speaking out against the divine comparison.

“It’s making Tebow out to be a god instead of an athlete,” one person told the Christian Post. “I’m happy he’s a Christian and isn’t afraid to demonstrate that, but for fans to hold him up in such high regard, perhaps comparing him to Jesus, is going too far.”

But in a recent post on Cafe Mom’s “The Stir,” blogger Jacqueline Burtargues that the shirts are harmless:

I don’t thinks the shirts are trying to prtray Tebow as a god….I think it is more a celebration that the Christian in the arena is winning….lol, not the Lions….heh heh heh, couldn’t resist that one!

    • Matt said

I agree Elaine, it just more media nonsense trying to stir the pot.

    • I think in its current stage it’s harmless, but Tebow would be the first to tell you its not about him but the Lord. The harm comes if the lime light starts to diminish the glorification of the Lord and if people exalt the man over God. Satan has a funny way of trying exalt humanity over our creator.

      Acts 10:25-26
And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

    Thinking about cosmic chess moves….

Do you suppose that if the world oil choke points are closed, that the international borders will be closed, collapsing the global corporations, putting most everyone in the US back to work on local manufacturing and production, collapsing the Chinese economy, resulting in a Chinese Spring, freeing a half billion chinese to immigrate as legal refugees abroad, to hear the Gospel and be saved??? And have 6 child families.

    I don’t see a down side.

Compare with the fall of the Soviet Union.

Christine posted this & thought it was great:

    • This seemed interesting at first, but I hate to be a wet blanket but this video scares the begeebers out of me. Faith in Jesus comes from a circumcision of the heart. It is a painful, but necessary process that crucifies the flesh and completes the soul.

Chanting and shouting Jesus over and over does not reflect devotion to Jesus, but it isolates those who dont shout using mob mentality. It is one small step from labeling those who don’t participate to those who don’t comply.

You must know that the coming world system will look good, positive and holy, but it will not be of Jesus. I dont want to besmirch this group, but true disciples of Christ (those on fire and not lukewarm) will face this kind of crowd. This scares me more than fills me with joy. I would rather see one sinner travail over their past sins than 1000 people shouting Jesus over and over.

    • lamarzulli said

HOpeful – Chanting the name Jesus over and over again is creating a mantra which then induces an altered state… this is occult 101.

    • Elaine said

I agree that it can induce an altered state and that it is a variation of the old theme of “repetitious prayer” but it also reminded me of some silly things we used to do as kids where you repeat a phrase until the cadence and emphasis evolve into a whole different meaning…..they were repeating the same word in unison….so why did the graphics scroll the name of Jesus in all those other languages? What did they end up really chanting, and in what language????? Best example I can think of right now is “Quite heavy the cross I’d bear” transitioning to “Quiet Harvey the cross-eyed bear” LOL, I’ll try to remember a better one

    • Could you imagine the overwhelming hysteria if gatherings such as this suddenly are shown miraculous signs and lying wonders? What if specific addictions and ailments of people in the crowd that are compounded by demonic influence is suddenly healed as the demons silently release their grip? You would have a revival of astronomical proportions, but it would be for a false teaching. Lord protect us from deceptions and come quickly.

    • nomemoleste said

Whaddya think are the angels shouting in the next verse? And is it chanting if it’s repeated?

      Rev. 5
11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

You know it seems to me angels are prone to shouting.

      Job 38
1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
      6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

And those praise team leaders and their pep rallies … Oy!

      Psalm 47
1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
2 For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.
5 God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

Seems there’s a proper time and place.

Now loud music on the other hand, I definitely consider offensive….

AND TYPING ALL IN CAPS… or in flashing fonts — just plain rude. ;-)

Those are some reasonable objections ~ I wasn’t so quick to judge their enthusiasm as stemming from the flesh or deceiving spirits. My perception was along of the lines of Egyptian Culture & how they put their lives on the line to follow Christ there. They can’t go around proclaiming the gospel on the street corners so to be able to worship Jesus together in such a sea of believers would be a special treat. I put in a note to a Egyptian Christian Pastor I know & hopefully he will get back w/a response.

“To view the entire 12- hour “Night of Prayer and Return to God,” simply click on the direct link found at the end of this video clip.”

Anyone willing to watch it for 12 hours & then let us know what you think? (: Maybe there’s even a Marian Appariation or Orb right in front of them but we can’t see it on this short clip!

    • Perhaps you are right. I don’t want to make a blanket statement and assume all fall into a deception. In the clip I did see a couple of people who were uncomfortable and another who reluctantly joined after looking around. To be fair I should watch the entire prayer vigile.

Regardless, the Christian Egyptians are dying for their belief in Jesus and they deserve our prayers.

Jesus Was Joyful And Happy And Enjoyed Celebrations

Jesus was joyful (John 15:11) and certainly knew how to enjoy himself. Look at all the dinners he attended: the one given him by Matthew/Levi after he called him (Matt 9:9-10; see Mark 2:13-15; Luke 5:27-29); at Zacchaeus’ house (implied in Luke 19:7); and Pharisees invited Jesus to dinner (Luke 7:36; 11:37; 14:1); and there was dinner at Lazarus’ house (John 12:2). Apart from enjoying himself on social occasions, we see that Jesus was joyful on other occasions, e.g. when the 70/72 came back after a successful mission (Luke 10:21). At Cana (John 2) Jesus changed between 120 and 180 gallons of water into wine so that the wedding guests could continue to enjoy themselves, and it was wine of the best vintage. (At that time the wedding celebration lasted a week which explains why so much wine was needed). Jesus did not expect his disciples to fast while he was still with them, but after he had departed would be the time for them to fast (Matt 9:15). So that people would be joyful Jesus provided food for them; for the disciples after a night fishing (John 21), and he multiplied bread and fish (Mark 6:30-44; 8:1-10 and parallels in Matt and Luke). Jesus wanted people to enjoy community celebrations because they were a foretaste of the banquet of heaven. Obviously Jesus enjoyed such occasions himself because of the description of him,

    a glutton and a drunkard,
a friend of tax collectors and sinners (Luke 7:34)

I believe this rhymes in Aramaic, the language of that time. The cross has become a symbol of Christianity, but that does not mean that we have to be sad. Why can’t we allow Jesus to laugh? Somebody has said that Christianity is not Crosstianity.

NO HE WAS SURELY NOT A WINE BIBBER. HE WAS SPOT WITHOUT FAULT. A TRUE SLAIN LAMB.NOT HAVING HIS MIND HAZED WITH A GLASS OR TWO. BUT HAVING HIS THOUGHTS TOTALLY PURE TOWARDS THE FATHER. CONCERNING “MAT. 11: 19. THIS IS WHAT CHRIST,S ENEMIES SAID OF HIM, AND NOT WHAT WAS ACTUALLY TRUE. ALSO TO STAND CORRECTED IN THIS PASSAGE.:BUT WISDOM IS JUSTIFIED OF HER CHILDREN: REALLY STATES,THAT WISDOM JUSTIFIED BOTH COURSES, THAT OF JOHN AND CHRIST. ISRAEL REJECTED BOTH.
JESUS SAT WITH BOTH THE HOOLIGANS AND THE PUBLICAINS. HE CREATED THESE PEOPLE. HE WAS GOD IN THE FLESH. BUT HE SURELY DID NOT HAVE THEIR SIN NATURE,HE WAS THEIR CREATOR. WINE IN THOSE DAYS WAS NOT FERMENTED, IT WAS MORE OR LESS A KIND OF A GRAPE DRINK. EVERYONE DRUNK WINE BECAUSE THERE WATER WAS NOT THAT GOOD. NO JESUS DID NOT CONSUME THE FERMENTED GRAPE. TO ALTER HIS MIND OR RELAX HIM OR ANYTHING ELSE. HIS RELAXATION TO GET AWAY FROM SINNERS AND FILTH OF HIS WORLD WAS TO RUN TO THE MOUNTAINS AND PRAY. IN THE MJASTERS NAME.
