Resurrection Sunday 21011:

by

L. A. Marzulli

Our faith rests on one event, if it didn’t happen then, as Paul tells us, we are the most miserable of men and women. However, if it did happen, and from a historical perspective hundreds of people saw Yashua/Jesus alive after his resurrection, then we have an event that is unprecedented in all of history. I am speaking, of course, of the resurrection. He was crucified, He died, they laid him in a garden tomb, wrapped in a new, linen, shroud and then, on the third day he rose again from the dead.

While He was gone he went to the lower places of the earth and proclaimed victory to the spirits that were in prison there. He was victorious and through His death and blood sacrifice, for all men and women through all of time, everyone could be redeemed and have eternal life, by believing in Him. He is the new Adam! He is now seated at the right hand of the Father and at some point He who is Faithful and True, will return and will dwell with men and women on earth.

We will never fully comprehend what He suffered on the cross, as all of the sins of mankind, past, present, and future, were laid on Him. I believe that this was one reason that, darkness covered the land for three hours, as it was the darkest hour in all of history. The Roman centurion proclaimed, while at the foot of the cross, at the moment of Yashua’s/Jesus’ passing, surely this was the son of God. 40 years later Titus, the Roman general, would descend upon Jerusalem and after a three-year siege kill over 1 million of its inhabitants as well as destroy the old system of worship, the Temple of Solomon, for it was no longer needed as His blood-sacrifice on the cross was, better than the blood of bulls and goats.

Now, after almost 2000 years we see that religion has done much to obfuscate the events, with papal pageantry, mock crucifixion, calling the resurrection, Easter – which is paying tribute to a Babylonian fertility goddess – lilies being displayed, eating the traditional ham, and a host of other absurdities that are the traditions of men.

For those of you who visit this BLOG regularly, you know that I believe that the Shroud of Turin is what I have come to call, God’s calling card. I believe that it is proof of the resurrection. It is forensic evidence that has been hidden for almost two millennia and now, because of the advance of science, we can examine it and ascertain that the image, that is barely visible to the eye, is that of a crucified man, post-mortem, who was  wrapped in this shroud. We know that the shroud dates back to the first century and it is not a forgery done by an artist in the 14th century. We have the pollen samples, the weave of the shroud which was unique and only found in Jerusalem, and we have the graphic testimony of the image itself, as the man on the Shroud endured the scourging by the Roman soldiers, who literally tore the skin off of His back.

In closing today’s post. The Resurrection is a pivotal point in History. It is the ultimate game changer, for the kingdom of the Fallen One, Satan, was once and for all time, defeated. There will be no rematch, no do-overs. It is, as Yahsua/Jesus stated while hanging in agony on the cross, finished. He died once for all, and then He rose on the third day. He conquered death and when He came out of the tomb, the ground shook and the Roman soldiers who were guarding it fell, as if dead. He is alive! Yashua/Jesus is alive, and the signs of His second coming are all around us, as I believe we are in the birth-pangs that He warned us of, which are manifesting all around us.

The early church used to greet each other like this. “He is risen!” The other person would reply, He is risen indeed!”

….and He lives forever with His saints to reign…..He arose, He arose, hallelujah, Christ arose!

my passed on Mama is singin’ in my brain….out of tune as always was. Next time we sing together we will all be making perfect harmony in praise of Him! Happy Resurrection Day….isn’t it tomorrow though if He died on Friday and was down for 3 days? I am quietly spending this day at home alone and said “No thank you to a ham dinner invitation” Tomorrow I will go to work but plan to mention Christ to EVERYONE who comes into my shop! Peace and joy to all here!

      Elaine,
I have often wondered about the days. Here is a very good article speaking to that.

Hal Lindsay’s Report also speaks about the 3 days.

Jesus definitely rose from the dead on Sunday, but he was crucified on Thursday – not Friday.

I have to admit that I was just recently made aware of this, and it really bowled me over to think that we Gentiles have had it wrong all these years.

Here is a link to the appendix in the Companion Bible. It states if you work it out from what is written in the Scriptures, the Lord was crucified on the Wednesday and resurrected on Saturday evening, after sunset, which is the day after the Sabbath as the Jewish days are reckoned from sunset to sunset, not midnight to midnight as with gentile reckoning.

The Lord had to be in the tomb three FULL days and three FULL nights.

      Blessings

Maureen: Thanks for the link. Years (and years) ago, when I was about 15 or 16, I became concerned about the “celebration of Easter” regarding the day being called Good Friday. (Also, the new clothes, the colored eggs, etc., etc.) The Friday to Sunday time just did not add up to 3 full days and 3 full nights, which was my understanding of what Jesus himself said:

Matthew 12:40 (KJV) For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

I asked my pastor about this and he gave me some mumbo, jumbo reply which did not satisfy me at all; but I did not question him further as I was so young I knew he would not accept my concern as legitimate.

Then about 20 years later, there was a teaching very similar to the link you provided with the Wednesday crucifixion and what would be our Saturday night resurrection. Finally, I was satisfied. However, most pastors will not agree! I don’t know how important this is to our Lord and Saviour, but it has been important to me most all of my life. I have opted out of so-called “Easter” services for many years now and praise and worship my Saviour for shedding His blood for me in the privacy of my home. He is risen indeed!

Amen! My sister and I are no longer participating in the pagan stuff either. Thanks LA for helping reveal the truth. “Time is the ally of deceit.”

    I like that…God’s calling card.
A great dvd on the Shroud is “The Fabric of Time.” It was recommended by Chuck Missler. The dvd looks at the shroud from a quantum physics point of view and how that could have left the imprint.
Isn’t it fascinating that God’s glory can be seen not only in the smallest sub-atomic particles but also on the grandest scale of the cosmos, as Romans 1 and Ps. 19 say? The paradoxes of God are reflected in atoms! What better way to explain the mystery of the Trinity than to look at photons who can simultaneously spin clockwise and counter-clockwise.
The shroud, the bible, nature, changed hearts, atoms, the pyramid, ufos–all point to God being in masterful control, with Satan forced to take orders from the King. There’s nothing to fear.

    Hallelujah!

He is risen, and coming soon. I for one cannot wait to be raised up by Him, incorruptible, and sin free. I can’t wait for the work and things I do to have some meaning, and to be for His glory. I can’t wait to get out of this zoo we call earth and human society, “civilization”. I can’t wait to get into the Kingdom and be with our King.

Without Him and faith in waht He’s done, i have nothing. This place is so empty as Solomon said without faith and a realtionship with God, life is just like chasing the wind.

Praise God, the creator who has our good in mind, and His infinite love shown by what He did through Christ.

Today at our Ressurection Service at church a woman did a dance for the Lord and the words to the song were over and over again “Do not cry, wipe those tearing eyes, He is alive forevermore”. He is risen indeed and even though I cry out of my emotions to and for Him, we really don’t need to cry as He has risen, He has defeated our enemy, He is the King of Glory, He is coming again, and so so soon, He will be faithful to His promise to take us to be with Him. I can’t wait. I can’t wait to shed this old body and sin and the world. I can’t wait to walk the streets of gold with the joy of joys in my heart that I am forevermore with my Savior. What a wonderful, beautiful savior He is, Our Jesus, Our God. Amen and blessings to all today.

At our Resurrection celebration today many additional people came only as it is known to them as “Easter” it was jam packed & SRO. (Standing Room Only) Pagan Title or not – the Lord is gracious & will meet us where we are. The Story was re-told – The Call was given & a multitude come forward & today was their Spiritual birthday. All I can say to that is OUR GOD IS AWESOME! It’s amazing that He uses vessels such as we are to touch the lives of those around us. It’s amazing He comes to us on this celebration hijacked by paganism to save the souls of those ready to find Him. We are truly blessed for He is alive & active in all of our lives forevermore.

      Hi LNL:

So great to hear about the service at your church. Our’s (a very small congregation) had a few new visitors and one young man came forward and two little boys about 6 or 7 came forward as well. So moving, God’s love. He reaches everyone that is open to Him. God bless. Amen!

In agreement with all who choose “Resurrection Day” over pagan goddess Isthar (Easter) celebrations. So glad to know we are not alone!

I recently read some wise words from a Godly pastor – he said “most of the “true church” has been driven underground & the rest of us are going willingly!”

    God Bless!

We decided in our household not to call this day by its pagan name. When people would tell us “Happy Easter” we would respond with “Happy Resurrection Day”. Most would respond with an enthusiastic and somewhat surprised “that’s right!!”. I thought it was interesting as it seemed an affirmation that it was a much better description of what the day is and should mean to us. I believe I have really seen the Holy Spirit working in several areas to make this day the holy day it should be by elevating and educating the Body. I love it when I visit several blogs and see Him at work in my own life and see an alignment.

Let’s remind ourselves daily of His sacrifice He made for us!!

I’m sure it was interesting to see the reaction you must have gotten with that comment. Myself, I use the Tongan (South-pacific) Happy Pekia (literally “death (of the lord)”).. I also get “that’s right” comments back, but yet with a puzzled look. Folks are just so agreeable these days.

So agreeable these days! Indeed; soon all will speak in one unifying tongue as in the days of Babel.
Ti’s going to be the only way of image worship rendered unto the Beast.
