May 21: False Prophecy – You bet!

Commentary & Analysis

by

L. A. Marzulli

Last night on Acceleration Radio I received duplicate questions regarding the May 21, 2011 end of the world date, set by a pastor – I think it’s Pastor Chris –  in Pennsylvania. Here is the link to the site: http://www.ebiblefellowship.com/may21/

I called the 800 number and spoke with a receptionist and left my name and number with her. She informed me that she would pass this information to Pastor Chris – I assume this is the man who has postulated the end of the world date – who would then get back to me.

I really want to talk to this man and when I do, providing he calls me back, I will post the interview on this BLOG.

Here’s where I stand in regard to this date setting of May 21. It’s not the end of the world…. period! I do, however believe that we are in the birth-pangs and have stated such since the first of this year, as we are seeing wars and rumors of wars, famines and pestilence, earthquakes in diverse places, and troublesome times, but we are not in the Tribulation. This is not the seals being broken or the bowls of wrath being poured out. We have not seen the anti-christ, and the rebuilding of the third temple. We have not see the great falling away that 2nd Thessalonians warns us about in the last days. We have not seen the fulfillment of the Psalm 83 war, Ezekiel 38 and Isaiah 17, all of which needs to happen, in my opinion, before the Tribulation period begins.

I don’t know this man and I believe he is sincere in what he believes, so I’m not directing a personal attack on the man only what he is promulgating. Here’s why. The lame-stream media has latched on to this and the story has gotten legs – I was hoping it would go away but alas, that’s not the case – as revealed by the duplicate questions regarding May 21, that I received last night. What is tragic about this is that the average Joe on the street, once he gets wind of this, will lump all Prophecy and those who espouse it, with the failure of anything happening on May 21. In other words, he will say something like this: Those crazy Christians are so deluded, always predicting the end of the world and as usual nothing happened!

Meanwhile, real prophecy is happening all around us and this average Joe is blind to it! We see the birth-pangs. We see the rumors of wars and the reshuffling of the countries of the Middle East, with all eyes on Israel. We see what may be the collapse of the global financial markets. We see signs in the heavens and the “alien gospel,” being preached from the History Channel, movies, and TV shows.

In closing todays post: Nothing will happen on May 21. We will still be here and those who have promulgated this date will have egg on their faces and will then tell us that somehow they miscalculated the date. We are in the last days, in the birth-pangs, in my opinion. I am not a date setter, but I am a watchman and I believe that it’s going to get worse. We are told to look up when we see these signs. Pastor Chris and I can agree that He is coming back, but I state that it’s not on May 21, 2011. People need to be aware that the fulfillment of prophecy is being shaped as we speak in the Middle East. In my opinion it all centers around the nation of Israel. I know there are those of you who don’t hold this opinion and that’s fine, but what we see is the fulfillment of Ezekiel 37, the Jews being gathered into their homeland, and so far no one can refute that. He is coming…. but not on May 21, 2011.

I agree L.A.- We will all be lumped in (as usual) with a fringe group.

I didn’t realize where the May 21st thing started. I live in Colorado- and pass a park bench that has had (for SEVERAL months) an advertisment on it, I’m sure from this pastor or his followers, saying the end is May 21, 2011. I think it even has a website. I’ll have to look when I go to lunch. I’ll post it if it is still there.

    • Captain Eagle said

Just think of the money required to rent all of these spots across America to advertise this. Must be a big church organization or a big church movement or a conspiracy.

    • Jennifer said

I know, I thought that too. And….I don’t know how many times I have seen it replaced because someone has vandalized it. It is curious; who (or what) is funding it.

    • Randy Ph said

indeed I have seen internet ads and just ran across one in Readers Digest april 2011 page 176, a half page ad that can not be cheap!! This one is from Harold Camping at familyradio in arrgghhh Oakland CA so it seems they are hitting us from both coasts.

      God bless all Randy Ph

    • Not only do I agree that such a date is bogus, I 100% agree that it is fodder for those who want to marginalize and scoff at real biblical prophecy. This is the kind of public ridicule that we will be in for when we “step out of line” and proclaim birth pangs and our blessed hope. http://skepacabra.wordpress.com/2010/07/28/set-your-doomsday-clocks-to-may-21-2011/

I heard one of these guys in an interview on coast to coast radio. When George Noory asked the guy to come back for an interview after 5/21 the guy said that it would be impossible because he won’t be here, he was so serious about it. This poor guy actually 100% believes that he and his group will not be here after 5/21. How sad! I just don’t get how people can let them selves be so misled.

I wonder if they are all having a really cheap estate sales,I could use some new furniture.
Hey they should be giving all their stuff away for free, what good is money or posessions when you’re outta here in a couple of months ;)

On a serious note, I think they need our prayers.

    • Captain Eagle said

Hey! Maybe it’s a good time to buy a house in PA. Ha Ha. ;) But, seriously, I feel bad for them. We gotta pray for the ones who so believe it that they are selling off everything. What will they do when things really get bad and they have nothing because they fell for this deception.

    • It is embarrassing to admit, but I was a date setter once. Obviously wrong :-) I can tell you that if they are like I was, their belief is very sincere. It manifests from anxiety, belief that they can control the outcome, fear for those you care about and pride in thinking they could be the one to save everyone (a kind of inferiority complex in wanting to be relevant). I learned a lot from those mistakes. God’s grace knows no bounds for I needed to be humbled to servitude, so that I place my faith in Christ and not in my own personal beliefs or actions. Now I watch carefully and try and share Christian values of faith and love more than the “end is ‘nigh” kind of stuff.

    • Randy Ph said

I heard somewhere maybe futurequake? that they(the H Camping group) sold all their houses ect and are touring the US in a bus spreading their message. Reminescent of the William Miller people in the 1800s.Although they are wrong I got to give them credit for putting their money where their mouth is, so to speak, if this is indeed true.

    • Jennifer said

Just got back from lunch- Here is the website on the park bench which says: “Judgement Day…May 21, 2011″. http://www.familyradio.com/index2.html

I looked at the site L.A. has linked in his blog, and the two look earily similar, yet this one has an address in Oakland, CA.

Also… reading through some of it, I agree they are certainly sincere in their belief that this is it.

Mark 1:17- They definitely do need our prayers!

Drunk leads deputies on 100 mph chase, claims he was fleeing from alien invasion

SALISBURY – Using a high pitched voice, television host Dr. Phil warned 21 year old Rowan County resident Richard Blanscet that an alien invasion had begun near his home off Scout Road and Sailboat Drive.

Anxious to save the life of his girlfriend, Blanscet left his home in a 1997 Jaguar XK8 and went to “rescue” her.

That’s the story Blanscet told investigators after he crashed the Jaguar several times while fleeing from deputies at speeds greater than 100 miles an hour

I’m glad you liked it. :D That really makes my day. :) But I seriously had no idea that this guy was out of PA.

    • Come clean Captain. It was you, wasn’t it? lol

    • Randyman said

I’m glad captain. Hope you have the best of days today! God bless Randy Ph

    • Captain Eagle said

I had a great day today. I spent it cleaning up outside from winter’s wake. In PA we always get stuck with 6 months worth of debris after the snow melts away. I’m glad I could finally get to all those twigs and branches that fall off the trees in the winter. (Do you get that in CA or not because you can clean as you go/or the trees are less fragile when it’s warm so they don’t drop limbs often?

    • Randy Ph said

Where I am at it never snows so not that many branches fall, when they do i just fire up the chainsaw and toss em in the wood pile.

    • Captain Eagle said

      H. Camping had set a date sometime back and one would think he would think twice about it again. No doubt the old preacher in his 90’s is serious but led of the wrong spirit. Deception runs deep and convincing if you don’t stay with that Word of Truth and it’s author, Yahshua.

      E. Gibbs.

    • IndyRose said

I guess he keeps setting a date hoping he will get it right. Think of the people he is leading astray that will doubt their faith, (in Camping I hope)! Teachers are held to more accountability than the average bloke, something for Camping to think about now he is an old fellow.

    Coast to Coast

On Wednesday night, remote viewing teacher Major Ed Dames discussed his previous prediction of a major quake in Japan, and shared insights into forthcoming quakes, the solar ‘Kill Shot,’ and safe places to live. In a 2003 show with Art Bell, he predicted a massive earthquake would hit Japan and damage a nuclear reactor. (He was off on the year, which he told Art would be in late Spring, 2005.) He also shared this prediction with Japanese TV

Dames and his team have remote viewed what he calls the “next, mass human death-causing earthquake,”– something akin to what we just witnessed in Japan. Though he couldn’t name a date, the site of this will be the New Madrid Fault and the Wabash Valley seismic zone ( map), and St. Louis, Missouri will be particularly hard hit with the most deaths, he declared, adding that we might even see the Mississippi River change its course.

The solar ‘Kill Shot,’ which will cause the collapse of Earth’s magnetic field and lead to huge power outages, will begin within the next couple of months, with dangerous activity from the sun continuing through late 2012, he outlined. According to Dames, the safest places in North America to deal with the disastrous upcoming earth changes include Alberta, Saskatchewan, parts of Manitoba, parts of east Oregon, Arizona, parts of New Mexico, the southern portion of the Appalachian Mountains, and an area west of the Great Lakes. He also updated his remote viewing project looking into the mysterious bird deaths around New Year’s– the cause of their deaths was indeed due to their disorientation brought on by fireworks, he said.

    Turi Predictions:

First hour guest, seer Louis Turi talked about the crisis in Japan, and its connection to the astrological ‘Tail of the Dragon.’ He shared predictions for the rest of this month: March 20-22nd is a “window of death,” and March 28-30th will bring in even more shocking news, with the possibility of more tsunamis, quakes, and volcanoes– as bad as the disastrous events in Japan, he warned.

    • Captain Eagle said

I look at folks like Ed Dames just like Edgar Caycee and Nostrodaumas. They’ve opened themselves up to familiar spirits and gotten into this occult stuff. Sure, demonic forces would KNOW where earthquakes are building but OF COURSE they wont know WHEN they’ll happen. That’s why these dates are always off. We also nver know if the agenda of these spirits is to cause panic and worry or evn get people to trust folks like Dames so when they give Dames a FALSE prediction it actually gets people to MOVE to where the most UNSAFEST places are so even more people die. Take it wit a huge grain of salt. Unless it’s from God never trust it.

    • Randy Ph said

Not to mention that Dames has been predicting the”kill shot” from the sun for so many different times it has become laughable.

    • richard said

I just thought it was interesting. Are his comments Nostrodaumus like Yes. You have to take all predictions with a grain of salt. Joel Rosenberg wrote one year before 9/11 that planes would take down the twin towers. Does that mean he’s open to the spirt’s.

On a side note NASA is predicting power outages this year as well as 2012 from solar flares. Thats not laughable.

    • Randy Ph said

      Interesting indeed Richard

    • Randy Ph said

Dames is into remote viewing which is akin to channeling just in case anyone was not aware of that.

    • In A Moment said

Curious… did Joel Rosenberg set an actual date the towers would go down or did he just say they’d go down at some point in time?

    • richard said

Joel Rosenberg wrote about it in his book “The Last Jihad”

    • Jacqueline said

Rosenberg did not make a prediction. He opened his book with a terrorist scenario where a smallish aircraft kamikazes into a building, and a war on terror of sorts ensues. The day he faxed it to his editor or publisher was either 9/10 or 9/11. He is a guy who looks at biblical prophecy and world events, asks God to show him great and mighty things he has not known, and then writes fiction on what he imagines happening. He also “predicted” the Iraq war and several other Middle East developments. he’s not claiming to be a prophet, but just a guy who is tuned into the Holy Spirit, world events, and biblical prophecy.

LA doesn’t claim to be a prophet either, but he did the same thing in “Politics, Prophecy and the Supernatural.” Thank You, God, for our watchmen.

    • richard said

Jacqueline I know Joel Rosenberg. I have seen him and spoken with him several times in addition to email contact about working with his food shelters in Israel through the Joshua Fund.

I didnt say he made predictions or was a prophet. I said he wrote about it in his book and gained notoriety for it.

    • IndyRose said

Of course they might get something right once in a while, the demons that are in their heads are playing their home movies!

    • Captain Eagle said

All a prediction is is being privy to information before it happens. A prediction about 9/11 can happen 2 ways. You get the guys who watch the middle east, observe the Bin Laden rhetoric and BELIEVE what he says. This is the same as the Iranian dictator’s rants against Israel and America. If you take him seriously and forecast the outcome after it comes to pass you’re a prophet but all you were doing is what folks like LA do and figuring out the possible and most likely scenarios.

The other way a 9/11 prediction can happen is from demonic forces. They are everywhere and 9/11 was planned for over a year. They could have easily sat in on these planning sessions (in fact, I’m sure they did) and then reported to people that the towers would fall from planes. Then it happens. Bingo, instant prophecy when it was merely supernatural news reporting.

U.S. Government Cannot Be Trusted On Radiation Plume

Health and nuclear experts emphasize that radiation in the plume will be diluted as it travels and, at worst, would have extremely minor health consequences in the United States, even if hints of it are ultimately detectable. In a similar way, radiation from the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 spread around the globe and reached the West Coast of the United States in 10 days, its levels measurable but minuscule.”

The same people telling us that the levels are miniscule and the radiation “harmless,” are from the same organizations who assured us that the Chernobyl disaster only killed 9,000 people, when in reality it exposed 550 million Europeans, and 150 to 230 million others in the Northern Hemisphere to notable contamination and led to nearly a million deaths.

Given the fact that Japanese authorities have overseen a clear cover-up of the amount of radiation being spewed by the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant, added to the fact that the EPA and the White House, both of which conspired to engage in a cover-up on 9/11 in claiming that the air was safe to breathe at ground zero (aided by establishment media outlets like the New York Times), which led to chronic illnesses and deaths of thousands of Americans, also cannot be trusted, the fact that the UN is making assurances that the radiation plume will be “harmless” should be treated with the utmost suspicion.

Tokyo Passengers Trigger U.S. Airport Detectors, N.Y. Post Says

Business Exchange Buzz up! Digg Print Email Radiation detectors at Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago O’Hare airports were triggered when passengers from flights that started in Tokyo passed through customs, the New York Post reported.

Tests at Dallas-Fort Worth indicated low radiation levels in travelers’ luggage and in the aircraft’s cabin filtration system; no passengers were quarantined, the newspaper said.

Details of the incident at O’Hare weren’t immediately clear, the Post said.

Imho, I feel that people such as this may have been ‘put up to’ saying things such as this to make Christians as a whole look confused, lost and out of control. This will make the great deception that much easier when the alien/demons come to tell us how they created us and that they are separating the sheep from the goats…thereby explaining the mass disappearance of all those crazy Christians. At that point the disappearance of the rest of the people can be explained by the rapture…though in actuality it will be FEMA and our traitor government hard at work reducing the population to something they can easily control. They have it all figured out. There is only one key thing that they are all selling way too short. God. Praise God and Jesus…they have the WHOLE world in their hands!

  14. Bozz said

One thing is sure: We will be bulldozed with all kinds of deception(s) in the coming months and years.

Richard, your post about solar flares (and 2012 connection) brought a video to my remembrance. Maybe this could be the false sign/wonder of “fire from the sky” mentioned in Revelation. Just another possibility of a deception to consider:

    • I have thought about this fire from the sky issue in Revelations. If there is a polarity shift, there might be a large number of satellites lose their orbit, some of which would fly into space and others might fall to the Earth.

    • Mark1:17 said

Intresting. I never thought of it that way. Thanks.

    • CelticKevin said

I never gave pole shift much thought, until fairly recently. And I still don’t think on it much, because worrying about it will not add one day to my life.

But if you are curious, just read Rev 6:12-17 and compare it to what a massive geological pole shift could be like:

I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”

      My wild speculation…

Stars in the sky fell to earth
If you watch the stars in the night you will see them circle around the North Star (aka Polaris). To see the stars fall or move in a straight line would mean a significant change of our vantage point (unless the stars literally fall, which is well within God’s power!).

The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up
Maybe more description of the stars changing their location, because our vantage point changes.

Every mountain and island was removed from its place
If the poles shift and the Earth’s crust responds by shifting as well then every island and mountain would indeed be moved from its place.

      There was a great earthquake
A geological pole shift would mean tectonic plates moving, shifting and grinding beyond our imagining. That would be a terrible earthquake!

  15. Hi L.A.,

Someone probably already commented on this, however this date originally came from Harold Camping of Family Radio and the, “Open Forum” program. Camping also predicted the “end” back in 1994. He was WRONG then, and he is now. This Pastor Chris is a Camping follower. You are right, is does give real prophecy teaching a “black eye.”

Solar Storm Warning; Researchers say a storm is coming–the most intense solar maximum in fifty years.

It’s official: Solar minimum has arrived. Sunspots have all but vanished. Solar flares are nonexistent. The sun is utterly quiet. Like the quiet before a storm.

Recently researchers announced that a storm is coming–the most intense solar maximum in fifty years. The prediction comes from a team led by Mausumi Dikpati of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). “The next sunspot cycle will be 30% to 50% stronger than the previous one,” she says. If correct, the years ahead could produce a burst of solar activity second only to the historic Solar Max of 1958.

That was a solar maximum. The Space Age was just beginning: Sputnik was launched in Oct. 1957 and Explorer 1 (the first US satellite) in Jan. 1958. In 1958 you couldn’t tell that a solar storm was underway by looking at the bars on your cell phone; cell phones didn’t exist. Even so, people knew something big was happening when Northern Lights were sighted three times in Mexico. A similar maximum now would be noticed by its effect on cell phones, GPS, weather satellites and many other modern technologies.

Dikpati’s prediction is unprecedented. In nearly-two centuries since the 11-year sunspot cycle was discovered, scientists have struggled to predict the size of future maxima–and failed. Solar maxima can be intense, as in 1958, or barely detectable, as in 1805, obeying no obvious pattern.

The key to the mystery, Dikpati realized years ago, is a conveyor belt on the sun.
We have something similar here on Earth–the Great Ocean Conveyor Belt, popularized in the sci-fi movie The Day After Tomorrow. It is a network of currents that carry water and heat from ocean to ocean–see the diagram below. In the movie, the Conveyor Belt stopped and threw the world’s weather into chaos.

The sun’s conveyor belt is a current, not of water, but of electrically-conducting gas. It flows in a loop from the sun’s equator to the poles and back again. Just as the Great Ocean Conveyor Belt controls weather on Earth, this solar conveyor belt controls weather on the sun. Specifically, it controls the sunspot cycle.

Solar physicist David Hathaway of the National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC) explains: “First, remember what sunspots are–tangled knots of magnetism generated by the sun’s inner dynamo. A typical sunspot exists for just a few weeks. Then it decays, leaving behind a ‘corpse’ of weak magnetic fields.”

“The top of the conveyor belt skims the surface of the sun, sweeping up the magnetic fields of old, dead sunspots. The ‘corpses’ are dragged down at the poles to a depth of 200,000 km where the sun’s magnetic dynamo can amplify them. Once the corpses (magnetic knots) are reincarnated (amplified), they become buoyant and float back to the surface.” Presto–new sunspots!

All this happens with massive slowness. “It takes about 40 years for the belt to complete one loop,” says Hathaway. The speed varies “anywhere from a 50-year pace (slow) to a 30-year pace (fast).”

When the belt is turning “fast,” it means that lots of magnetic fields are being swept up, and that a future sunspot cycle is going to be intense. This is a basis for forecasting: “The belt was turning fast in 1986-1996,” says Hathaway. “Old magnetic fields swept up then should re-appear as big sunspots in 2010-2011.”

Like most experts in the field, Hathaway has confidence in the conveyor belt model and agrees with Dikpati that the next solar maximum should be a doozy. But he disagrees with one point. Dikpati’s forecast puts Solar Max at 2012. Hathaway believes it will arrive sooner, in 2010 or 2011.

“History shows that big sunspot cycles ‘ramp up’ faster than small ones,” he says. “I expect to see the first sunspots of the next cycle appear in late 2006 or 2007–and Solar Max to be underway by 2010 or 2011.”

Who’s right? Time will tell. Either way, a storm is coming.

Yay, we will be able to see the northern lights in the not so northern parts of the world (in 1958 they could see them as fare as Rome).

They will shut down the internet anyway, so who needs a computer and all the other junk, right?

    • Bozz said

This will happen in the time, times and half a time period and not in 2012. That is why this is a deception. But we shall see.

The last solar maximum was in 2000. The next solar maximum is currently predicted to occur in May 2013 and to be one of the weakest cycles since 1928.[2][3]

The unreliability of solar maxima is demonstrated in that NASA had previously predicted the solar maximum for 2010/2011 and possibly to occur as late as 2012. Previously, on March 10, 2006, NASA researchers had announced that the next solar maximum would be the strongest since the historic maximum in 1958 in which the northern lights could be seen as far south as Rome, approximately 42° north of the equator.[4]

My husband and I saw the Battle for L.A. movie this weekend, and it was actually quite good. It is more of a war movie than an alien movie – if one replaced the aliens with the Chinese the script wouldn’t change very much.
The most unbelievable part was in the whole two hours I didn’t hear this group of Marines curse once! Alien invasion – possible… Marines not cussing, especially in war – never.

    • Matt said

I think the difference being Rose, Alien space craft move at the speed of light, Chinese behind a wheel of a Datsun go zero to 30 in 45 minutes to an hour.

    • Softcurls said

Hey! My first car was a Datsun! 1982 Datsun Nissan Sentra. Canary yellow, 4 speed clutch. This was right before Nissan dropped the Datsun name. I could go zero to 60 in ….oh I dunno 10 seconds? I had a lead foot and the clutch helped me with acceleration. But then I traded it in for a Toyota Celica 5 speed….talk about acceleration! That was a fun car to drive.

    • Matt said

0 to 60 in 10 seconds? Wow…you were burning up the roads there, with that kind of acceleration you must been in a good down wind with the AC turned off, right there would shave off 4 of the 10 seconds in a Datsun.

Thanx for the review Rose, I want to see it and no cursing? Awesome!

It is violent, though. Lots of explosions – very cool ships – stuff your normal 14-year-old boy would eat up. The aliens look like squids and have come to take our water – that’s the theory, anyway. We never get the alien point of view. But, no sex and no cussing. There is one subtle innuendo, but if you’re not listening closely you’ll miss it.
The aliens have actually had their weapons fused to their skeletal structure, which hints at many things, but the theme is not explored.

The House of Representatives Judiciary Committee will vote today on whether to reaffirm “In God We Trust” as the national motto of the United States, and encourage its public display in all public buildings, public schools, and other government institutions.

Over the past several years, there have been growing efforts to strip references to America’s religious heritage, including our national motto, from federal buildings.Atheist lawsuits have failed to get rid of the national motto, but succeeded in causing unfounded fear of its public display. But the Supreme Court and appeals courts have affirmed “In God We Trust” as the national motto, for now.

Anti-Chrisitan complainer Barry Lynn of Americans United for Separation of Church and State opposes anything that honors God. “No organization or group of graffiti artists is going around trying to cover up the motto” “the motto should be ‘In God, or in no God, or in multiple gods we trust.'”

I also believe that what is being redrawn is more than a geopolitical map; the geographical map of the surface of the earth is being redrawn – it’s being pulled apart, like a woman in childbirth.
One of the events in the days of Noah occurred within the lifetime of Peleg – the continents were separated. The earth literally became larger as it was pulled apart. The axis changed, and five days were added to our calendar year. All of that is happening now.

Pastor Accused of Denying Communion to Churchgoers Who Didn’t Give Tax Refunds
Members of a small Baptist congregation in Texas say their pastor denied them communion after they refused to give him their tax refunds, MyFoxHouston.com reports.

Parishioners at the Houston Unity Baptist Church claim the pastor, John Goodman, asked members of his congregation to hand over their tax refunds to the church.

“He said for all those who are getting a tax refund, ‘How many are you are going to give it to the church?'” said one church member, who spoke to the station on condition of anonymity.

Goodman has admitted to denying his congregation communion but said he did so because church members overall have failed to support the church financially — like giving money toward its new parking lot. He said only four or five members of the church actually donate, and he called the rest of his congregations “devils,” MyFoxHouston.com reported.

“I asked if there were any other members, which I know it is, that got income tax money. I ask if they would like to contribute it over here to the new parking lot,” Goodman said in an interview with the station.

Review of the new alien movie Paul:

Paul is an R-rated romp laced with crude sexuality, drug abuse and high-powered profanity. Given the rating, you probably guessed as much. I sure did. When I walked into the theater, I thought I knew what to expect.

But I wasn’t prepared for the religious broadside Paul serves up—and I wonder if it, in so doing, miscalculates its audience.

“I’d want to take some of my friends,” I heard someone say on the way out the door, “but did you see how blasphemous it was? I don’t think they’d like it.”

Remember, more than 80% of Americans believe in God. Sure, Paul is intended for the out-and-proud geek set—folks with an unabashed love for Gene Roddenberry and an encyclopedic knowledge of the Star Wars universe—and perhaps Superbad director Greg Mottola believes these sci-fi fans are more secular than the population as a whole. But he probably hasn’t been reading Plugged In’s Facebook page and blog posts much lately. Because if he had, he might have noticed that lots of Christians groove on Dr. Who, tune into The Big Bang Theory and study maps of Middle Earth in their spare time.

Paul tells us that advanced civilizations have outgrown the concept of God—at least a Christian God. But here’s what I find most interesting about its point of view: In attempting to strip away one religion, we’ve been given another.

The popularity of aliens and UFOs in pop culture has been attributed, by some, to folks trying to replace traditional faith with a more scientific form of religion, complete with rewards (knowledge), punishments (probes!) and awe-struck wonder. Consider Paul—his characteristics, not his character: He’s a being from another place, a creature filled with unimaginable knowledge and incredible power. He heals the sick, he raises the dead, he helps the blind to see. He holds (the film suggests) the promise of a better world—one full of peace and love and community, free from strife and sin.

And yet Paul does not appear to everyone. Indeed, he reveals himself only to a select few … disciples. And those to whom he shows himself are often mocked, even persecuted sometimes.

We meet a woman to whom Paul revealed himself 60 years prior. Now old, she’s angry with Paul at first, telling him how the neighbor kids would make fun of her, throw rocks at her window. They would not believe her and her “alien” stories, and in time she had perhaps begun to doubt her own memories. But then she softens. Seeing Paul now, face-to-face, everything’s fine again. Her faith—following an unseen, unfelt visitor—is validated.

If you haven’t connected the dots yet, what I’m getting at is Paul’s status as a deity. But what a slovenly deity he is: Little more than a “greater” being who, when he gives his friends the sum of all his knowledge, doesn’t change them a whit; an advanced entity less concerned with mankind’s betterment than with the pot he’s carrying and the partying he’s planning.

    http://www.pluggedin.com/movies/intheaters/paul.aspx

Please do not support this movie by giving away your hard earned mony to see it.

    • Rose from Kentucky said

This is interesting, Mark, thank you for posting it.

I wondered why they chose the name Paul, and now it’s clear. Paul was an evangelist to the gentiles and wrote much of the New Testament – the treatise to the path to God.

This creature, Paul, is doing the same. He attempting to lead people to his “god.” I’d have to see the movie to understand better, and I may when it comes out on disc.

I am one of those people who watch the BBT, Fringe and V. I have read Tolkien multiple times and can quote from the movies – and it has been very useful in witnessing. I haven’t gone as far as some, but my brother sent me newspaper clippings about the play he attended last Christmas – A Christmas Carol, performed in Romulan.

This sounds absurd, I know, but I believe it is because our materialistic education and lifestyle leaves people yearning for the transcendant, and these offerings in fantasy give some relief to that yearning.

The movie I saw recently, The Battle for L.A., opens with a Marine staff sargeant saluting the American flag. He doesn’t just salute, however. He closes his eyes, as if in prayer. He worships the flag. It is a neo-con’s fantasy and highly representative of how those of “the Greatest Generation” are portrayed.

It is coming from another direction, but this movie is just as much propoganda as the movie Paul is. Pick your poison; satan will work with it.

    • Alice again said

All I can say is…Wow!!! Could things be any more blatant???

And as you point out, Rose from Kentucky, the use of the name Paul is clearly to mock Christianity.

      Paul
      Mars Needs Moms
      Battle: Los Angeles

Yes, over half of the movies at my local theater are about space aliens….. Wow…..

  34. Either my coffee was too strong this morning or I am getting an odd nudge from the Holy Spirit. I will pray for discernment on this issue; if others here could as well.

This “false prophet” individual who has pinpointed May 21, 2011 may in fact be close to a significant event, just the WRONG one. What he claims will be the rapture of the church on this date. Now this guy maybe a fairly decent and caring person and he may even be sincere in his Christian desire to interpret such events, but never underestimate the power of prideful ambition. It can make you into Satan’s pawn with false prophecy and you don’t even know it. This is why Jesus tells us that we must be humble servants, not boasting or doing things for our own glory.

May 21 may in fact be a very large event, but tragically it might be an earthquake on the east coast of the U.S. that makes Japan look like a walk in the park.

“And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”

In other words, no rapture. Those on this blog know that, but false prophetic predictions followed by tragedy and disappointment will lead to scoffers and a following away of the church.

    • Rose from Kentucky said

Yes!!! I gave this opinion several weeks ago when I learned of the confluence of events on and around May 21st. The FEMA exercise corresponding with the supposed “rapture” event are a little too coincidental for my taste. Now we know of the Japanese tragedy – a huge loss of life that may “fuel” the next stage of the plan. And Steve Quayle has been reporting that a contigent of Chinese troops (10,000 vehicles- 8 to 10 people per) are camped 60 miles south of Laredo, TX. Why? Are they waiting for some event to weaken the defenses of the American people? We certainly owe them a lot of money – maybe they are going to take it out in land…
This character who made this prediction has done it before without affecting the culture too much – I’m not concerned about something NOT happening… I’m deeply concerned about what MAY happen.

It will cause widespread panic and fear, Without a doubt, it will become one of the most completely reported earthquake ever. Television networks will suspend all programming and carry all day coverage.

Another earthquake , possibly in Japan may precede the one that I see coming here. There is not the slightest doubt in my mind about this forthcoming massive earthquake in our continent.

I am not at all convinced that this earthquake will take place in California. In fact, I believe it is going to take place where it is least expected. This terrible earthquake may happen in an area that is not known as an earthquake belt. It will be so high on the Richter scale that it will trigger two other major earthquakes. ”

I feel like I am being given situations in which I can share my testimony, but for some reason I feel scared and apprehensive. Once an opportunity has passed, I feel horrible about being so weak. Repent, I must. Everyone on this blog is in my prayers…..may the Lord strengthen us all as the days draw closer to His return and become even more difficult.

      Hello dear Jennifer~
These “guilt” feelings behind not picking up on testimonial opportunities and/or not doing all we can is sometimes delivered by the slings and arrows of the Enemy. In fact usually is- our Lord’s voice, the woo of the Holy Spirit is always much kinder and gentler:^) Nonetheless these chaotic, crazy and woeful times do speak to an urgency that I have no doubt is mounting within all believers. Maybe you and Frank and I and others are sensing the seeming futility of spreading the good news in such a hardened and darkening world, a world in which there seems to be no quarter for followers of the Cross. But onward we must go, fighting the good fight until we are called home to Him… one way or another. He alone is victorious! His is the mighty glory. So be it.
“Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure…” Isaiah 46:9-10 (KJV)
      In His service,
      “Moment”

As you now L.A. I think you are CHOOSING to be as blind as all those you are saying are blind because you trust your limited interpretations of ancient writings MORE than you must be ASKING “The Father” for HELP to see how YOU can personally ASSIST in the enacting of HIS WILL on Earth – the simple “lords prayer” because I am certain, though I know very few can or want to open up to all the evidence that the Father and Jesus returned as Ti and Do of the Heaven’s Gate group, as seen on my 15 video’s on youtube/3spm and blogged on sawyerhg.wordpress.com.

And you say that you are NOT a date prophesizer and that’s smart, yet you say you KNOW what date it’s NOT, when he’s NOT coming. Now I don’t set dates either though maybe I should as so many love to hear dates set for some reasons you speak of …they can then scoff at it all, similar to the way you and other Christians in idea alone since I seldom hear you talk in any detail about ALL the things Jesus talked on and said to KEEP in order to be ready and able to identify his return. ALL may see his return and his return is not necessarily 1 return but perhaps 2 or more seperated by x years and for different purposes as in Rev 14, one being a harvest of his believer souls and the second being a harvest of those that MUST experience the PRESS, the great wine press which entails being among and probably killed by directly or indirectly all those who have chosen to by their own lack of opening up to see, to be the instruments of the doing in of those who are actucally going to have their “souls” saved upon their physical death.

I’m going to take your outline of all the things you say must happen in the way in which you apparantly think you will be able to identify and see if I can give you a hand in identifying which of those things have already happened.

But you have already missed a bunch of clues and I don’t have them in order and you can look up the scritures in some cases.

For instance in one of Peter’s letters he said the antichrist is already present. I may have that wrong so correct me, but that doesn’t change the fact that if there was anyone who becamse siginficantly popular that demonstrated severe haterd AGAINST Jesus and especially is belivers it was Saul of Tarsus, later called Paul. No I’m not saying Paul was the anti-christ. Luciferians are all anti-christs but they can’t do anyhing unless they can commandeer human subjects which paul was perfect for. So Paul was greatly influences by a Luciferian. Let’s face it he called himself an apostle not Jesus. Jesus named the 12 apostles and then when Judas Iscariot flunked out the remaining 11 decided to fill the 12th slot and did. If anyone had the authority to name an apostle which was a special teacher that had first hand experience with Jesus, then the 11 were authorized. And they did NOT even consider Paul. In fact they steered clear of him. But there is evidence in Pauls own writngs that he was jealous of the apostles and though he may have found favor with the Lord after his conversion so power to him, he had a great deal to learn as he mostly only had his old teachings as a pharisee to draw upon and the things he could glean from the 12 and larger number of “students”disciples. So we shouldnt’ throw out everything he said but should be selective.

I know many people are taught to fear being selective. That’s it’s all or none, but that’s a ploy of the Luciferians to not use our heads and not press to learn what is truth and what’s not. This is the process of understaning how to recognize tht which is good vs that whick is evil.

And Israel did have it’s people return to the land of their ancestrral origins though Jesus said he would take the kingdom of god away from them.

And Israel did have a peace deal with it’s biggest arch enemy the Egyptians – remember the pharaoh and moses. So why is it so hard to see that peace deal as the forcasted peace deal, wasn’t it?

And how come when you talk about the signs of the tribution you leave out what Jesus largely said? You seem to primarily linger on the Old Testement. I say use both. Use all you can find. Sure you should remain diserning on what you put your heart and soul behind.

  40. This date may 21, 2011 sound very important. In the book of Genesis in the 600 yr of Noah life on the 17 day in the 2nd month . The calender in the word of God count backward not forward . God give clues , time, and age from Adam to Noah before the flood. Jesus did tell us no man knows the day nor the hour of his return we must be saved and wash in the blood of the lamb and our names recorded in the lambs book of life.

  41. […] May 21: False Prophecy – You bet! « L.A. Marzulli’s Blog. […]

I believe this is very well written. Jesus is definitely coming soon, but NO way he’s compng ok the 21st. God repeatedly says that he will be a thief in the night and no one will be able to predict the date. And here we are predicting. It’s not happening on that date. I’d rather trust the Bible than the folly of man

The world will not end… WAR? Famine? Come on, the only reason we see more of it now is because the world is more connected, war and famine have always gone on and we never knew it, because we were not in touch with the rest of the world and ALL the things that go on.
