Sunday Go To Meeting Bun.

1Jo 4:1   Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.  This is the way to find out if they have the Spirit of God: If a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ became a human being, that person has the Spirit of God. If a prophet does not acknowledge Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist. You have heard that he is going to come into the world, and he is already here.
_________________________________________________________________________________________
This passage is pregnant with meaning, here’s why! John is giving us a warning against those who claim to be speaking by the Spirit. Please consider that at the time of this writing, almost 2000 years ago, there were no formal churches, no Bible as we have it today, no priests or pulpits, popes or pews. Instead the initial group who had been present in the upper room some 5o days after the resurrection – Pentecost – had a life changing experience; they became  born again, by the Spirit of the Living God.

This was a revolutionary event, as never in the history of the world had man’s spirit been infused with power from on high. This experience became known as being born again. We see Yashua/Jesus tell Nicodemus, that unless a man is born again he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. Nicodemus, who is a leader of the Jews, doesn’t have a clue as to what Yashua/Jesus is talking about. In fact he asks him how a grown man can go back inside his mother’s womb! Of course Yashua is pointing to the time when the spirit of the living God will come into men and woman. Without being born again of the spirit, it’s all head knowledge. In other words I can read every book ever written on the Messiah, the church, and religion and I will never understand what is being referred to, because I am not born again. Here lies the great mystery and one that has unfortunately been replaced, in many quarters, with religion!

Being born again is not following a set of rules, or attending a church, or claiming that one is a Christian. Being born again is an ongoing, life changing experience where a person’s very spirit is connected to that of the God of the universe. For me one of the most amazing aspects of the whole experience is when He talks to me…. not in an audible voice, but when He gives me revelation, warning, insight, or sometimes what is called a word of knowledge.

When I was speaking in Nashville, I moved in this gift, that of a word of knowledge. Here’s what happened. A person requested a meeting with me. This person who had sought me out was clearly troubled. I listened and realized that I could sit for hours and not have a clue as to what this person needed. It was then that I asked, I need you to show me what this person needs. The Lord gave me a word, which I spoke over this man. When I did, he immediately started to cry. Pay dirt!
This is how the believer is supposed to move through the world. We are admonished to destroy the works of the Fallen One. We have been equipped by the spirit of the living God to go out into the world and make a difference. Sadly much of this has been shut down by so-called leaders in the church. Sitting in a pew on Sunday is a relatively new man-made invention. The early church met in a dynamic way as we are told in:
1 Corinthians 14: Well, my brothers and sisters, let’s summarize what I am saying. When you meet, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in an unknown language, while another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must be useful to all and build them up in the Lord.

We see a huge difference here, as all are admonished to participate to build us up in the Lord, there are no grand Puba’s standing behind a pulpit! The early Christians moved in these gifts of the spirit. They were infused with the spirit of the living God. It was this experience that changed the ancient world. Oh, that we would come out of the religious system which has nothing to do with the power of the living God and become doers of the word and not only listeners.

In closing today’s Bun. Being born again does not make us perfect men and women. We are all under construction and will remain so until we are taken to be with Him. However, because we have the spirit of the living God in us we can speak by the spirit, move by the spirit, understand by the spirit, pray, heal and walk in the spirit and all because we are born again.

I agree Lady Gaga is a sinister influence; please explain the terms “ritual” and “magic” in relation to her video.
Her “dance routine” is choreographed, to be sure; is a magical ritual somehow actually embedded in the obscenities? Thanks for your answer ahead-of-time. Thanks for your helpful and insightful blog.

Thankyou LA for your insight, everytime I look at this blog which I do everyday it really does feed my soul.As I do not get to go to church on a weekly basis I feel alone and guilty frequently.I ask the Lord to free me from my work which as a nurse am required to do.Somehow I feel comforted that is how the early Christians used to meet.I realize the church is not a building. As for the gaga she cant be seen one time without covering one of her eyes or some sign to lucifer.I find her absolutely obnoxious and hell bound.I do however pray for her and her ilk.In mt state of Mass,in Ptown the school district decided to make sure they give condoms to PRESCHOOLERS!Well hopefully a nice big wave will come and wipe that school system off of the map.Its right on the ocean it shouldn’t be too difficult. So sick of the filth and long for my Jesus and to be with you guys and fellowship in one mind and heart and one body.Maranantha

      Hi Laura:

I read something about that with the preschoolers a few days ago but didn’t think it was real. I guess my mind just doesn’t want to accept how absolutely foul this world has become. Are they so far gone??? When it comes to little ones, my heart weeps and my anger boils when I think of these type of issues. I know what the Lord meant when He said “it would be better to be drowned with a millstone than to destroy the faith of one of these little ones”. I can’t wait to go home (heaven). God Bless. Amen!

    • LauraR. said

Yes sister I agree.want to go home soon because it feels as though we are being squeezed out of here.Blessings to you also.

I would rather refer to LA as “Elder Marzulli” instead of Pastor as I think the Biblical terms and not traditional ones are more precious to Our Father’s heart. In my understanding of “churchianity” (formal churches and their clerical system) The clerical pastoral office is a replica of The Catholic Priest and his office only within the evangelical realm. I was there but no more.
One born of the Spirit can certainly see through The trappings that often binds the people of God.
Having said that, I am in no way implying that there are no sincere pastors within the Body of Christ.
None can deny the onslaught from Hirelings upon the Flock coming from the Clerical Spirit.
It is interesting that The words that Jesus spoke about being “born of the Spirit” He spoke to a Cleric.

The music of GaGa and others in that industry is indicative of the speed at which darkness is currently permeating our modern culture. Such things would have been band for public presentation 30 years ago. The judgment of god is imminent!

At the end of the GaGa’s video with her “melting Face” is a reality portrayed in That clip which all the wicked shall experience unless there be repentance, which is an impossibility for the reprobates of hell.

    • John,
I’m the last guy in the world that would want to conform to a religious system or hierarchy. In using the term “Pastor”, I simply meant it as it is used in the Scriptures. One who shepherds the flock and feeds the sheep. Lynn certainly qualifies as that.

I was not insinuating anything Steve, I was just pushing a scriptural principal that most have lost site of in the Babylonian realm. I used your comment as as a door to express a truth That is all.

    LA,

Thank you for the Sunday Go To Meeting Bun. What a relief! I haven’t attended “church” regularly for almost 10 years. After being asked to leave two of them, I figured it was not the Lord’s will for me to be in one.

I do however study the Word daily in one way or another and whenever I study the Lord gives me fresh manna from heaven.

I will share a testimony that happened to me recently as I was traveling home from a short vacation. I had been stopping at Walmart stores here and there as a break from driving, a chance to stretch my legs, and restock my cooler. I was coming up on a city and didn’t know where the Walmart was so I asked the Lord to show me which exit to take. Suddenly, I came up behind a Walmart truck on the interstate. I passed it and then the Holy Spirit said to me that if I were to follow it, it would lead me right to the store. So I ducked into a rest area, slowed down until the truck had passed and pulled back out on the highway.

Sure enough, the truck exited and went strait away to the Walmart truck entrance. I continued a short span to the customer parking. I went in the store and started wandering around looking for things I had made a mental list of.

I had purchased a pair of jogging pants in a previous Walmart stop in a different city and the jacket that matched it kept coming up in my mind over and over, so I started looking for it. I didn’t find it, but had found some other things on my list, so I went to the check out to purchase them.

There were three people in line at this particular counter, a woman who was being checked out, a man with one item and me. There seemed to be some confusion taking place between the checkout clerk and the woman so I tuned my ear in to hear what was up. It seemed that the woman’s card payment was not going through…insufficient funds.

At that moment, the Holy Spirit literally thrust me forward and I said, “How much is her bill?” Everyone turned to look at me like I had spoken in a foreign language. The clerk said, “You want to know how much her bill is?” I said, “Yes, how much is her bill?” She told me the total and I said, “I’ll pay it.”

“You’ll pay it?” the clerk said. I said, “Yes, I’ll pay it.” She told me the amount and I took the cash out of my wallet and handed it to her. The woman was taken aback and said, “I won’t let you pay it unless you give me your name and address so I can send you the money.” I said, “Jesus is paying your bill, the only name and address you need is on this card.” I handed her one of the cards I carry in my purse that says on one side, “I’ve got a lifetime guarantee.” And on the flip side is written, John 3:16,17.

She said, “Thank you Jesus.” Then she looked at me and said, “God bless you.” I said, ” Yes, He does.” As she was walking away, she said, “Maybe someday He will bless me.” I said, “He just did!” Then the Lord said to me, “Now you can get your matching jacket.” I walked back into the clothing department and there it was right in plain sight.

I bought the jacket at the self checkout, skipped out to the parking lot singing praises to the Lord. When I got to my car, I said, “Lord, how do you do that? How do you time things so perfectly that you would put me in exactly the right place at exactly the right time? Thank you Jesus for blessing me by allowing me to be a blessing to her.”

    Shalom Shalom
    Abby

Abby, what a great and inspiring testimony!

That’s a great story Abigail. Unfortunately the Lord does not speak to me in the same way.
When I’m out of town and in an unfamiliar area, I usually will find and follow a Chick-fil-A truck. I would like to believe the Lord’s work is at play, but I believe it’s just my flesh manifesting for some waffle fries.
Thanks for sharing a wonderful story, im sure that woman you helped will not forget that day in Wal-Mart, and you act of kindness will not return void.

Awesome!! Great testimony. The Lord is faithful in so many, many ways. Thank you for sharing this as it is so faith building in so many ways, testifying to the Lords goodness to provide, to speak to us, to guide us to what is right for us and when it is right for us. And learning to hear His voice and be obedient to it. THanks so much Abby. Amen!

  7. Hi Lynn,

Another great “bun”. Simple truths are the most profound. You have given us much to meditate on once again. Thank you.

Dear Dr. Marzulli and everyone here,
I wonder if I might ask a question that, hopefully, seems kind of absurd, and has an easy answer that I just can’t see at the moment, but that has been bitterly plaguing me.
Please don’t misunderstand me because of this question, I believe stongly in our Lord God because of all He has done in my life. Perhaps satan throws darts at our faith sometimes. But with all this talk deceiving spirits, UFOs and satan the father of lies himself, now I have this question buzzing around in my head like an anoying(sp?) pest. Please, please, your thoughts and answers!
How did Abraham know that it was God who was calling him? He lived in a pagan area with, I’m asuming many deceiving spirits.
Could he have been deceived (like the Mary apparitions)? So much of our faith depends on that, my mind keeps saying. I keep coming back to the prophecies and how they have been fulfilled, because satan doesn’t know the future (correct?) Please, what are your thoughts.
Searching for the blessed comfort of the Truth,
    C

Abraham was called out in a similar way that Moses was. I’m sure he didn’t at first know who he was talking to. However, he was shown over and over again the works of the Most High God. Remember when the three “angels” come and visit him. O believe that one of those angels was Yashua himself! Hope that helps.

    • carolyn said

      Thank you!, Dr. Marzulli,
Yes, that DOES help. You’re right about him being shown the works of God, and yes, the angels!
      Thank you again!
      C
