Noah’s Ark?

Posted by lamarzulli on April 27, 2010

Noah’s Ark found? We’ve heard this before and every time it happens I’m on the edge of my seat wondering if it could be true. You know what’s going to happen as people respond to this post? Some of you will write in and tell me that it makes no difference to them whether or not they ever find Noah’s Ark, as it doesn’t add to their faith. Well, I want to be clear that it doesn’t add to mine either, but it screams to the unbelieving world that the Bible is true and what was written thousands of years ago is not myth! This could be huge, as if proven true most people are going to have to go back to the drawing boards, in regard to their world-view. You see we have organizations like Nat Geo that promulgate a Darwinian world view. There is no supernatural and the stories in the Bible are just folk tales. However, if this latest find turns out to be the real deal, then what? If the story of Noah is true then what about the rest of the Bible? It would also blow the lid of the evolutionary theory and substantiate the global flood that wiped out every one on the planet except for eight people. It then really gets wild, as this begs the question why the flood happened in the first place, and with that welcome  to my world! We know from the Genesis account that the flood was a direct response to the fallen angels taking wives from whomever they choose and having children by them, which were called the Nephilim! We are also warned that when the son of man i.e. Jesus would come back or return it would be like the days of Noah. I’ve Blogged about this before, but will say that what differentiates those days from any other is the manifestation of the fallen angels coming to earth. (This is what the entire UFO phenomena is about.) I find it interesting that these lost artifacts are coming to light now. People have searched for the Ark for decades and so far have been unsuccessful. We also have The Shroud of Turin, which also lay hidden until recent times, the photographic properties of the Shroud weren’t discovered until Secundo Pia’s work at the turn of the 19 century. In my opinion these artifacts point to the two most pivotal points in human history, the first is the flood of Noah the second being the Resurrection of Jesus! We now may have forensic evidence – and this is precisely what the scientific community needs – that may prove these two supernatural events. In closing today’s post, I would point out that if this discovery of Noah’s ark turns out to be the real thing – and my first impression is that it is – it points to the God of the Bible as the creator of all life on this planet and destroys the idea of evolution, which up until now has usurped creationism. This discovery can also be used as an introduction to supernatural events that happened millenia ago and then to postulate that if supernatural events happened then, are they happening now? This opens the door to a study of prophecy and the uniqueness of the Bible in light of its prophetic message.

Thankyou LA for this an all your posts!Doesn’t make you want to jump up and down for joy?All of these things, the ark,the shroud just reinforces what we already know in the Spirit.A short while ago you wrote about a vision you had regarding the rapture.I have been seeking the Lord about this issue for some time and am now just about sure.I have been led to the correlation of the Jewish wedding and the rapture and how the rapture and the physical return of Christ are two separate events.Last night I was driving home from work and had a short vision of the Lord all in white and how close He is getting.I feel in my soul that it means we need to keep watching! When I pray about things He keeps telling me WATCH!.

Hi Laura. As I believe and have studied, there are two arrivals of the Son of Man. The first, is in His Glory (in which the righteous are caught up with him), perceived as wrath by those unrighteous, destroyed by his sight, and the separate, descension of the Holy City, that marks the rise of the wicked, for judgement, after 1000 years of preparedness before arrival. What leads you to believe that his first coming (the wedding) is not equated with his first physical arrival?

      Thanks.

And if this does turn out to be the real Ark, let us all prepare for that leap in global conscience that brings about the “Harmonic convergence” that the New Age movement has seeking for decades now. For if this is verified as true, Satan will shift into 5th gear and read his ugly head as he has been awaiting this moment for millennia.

The propaganda and deceit machines will come out in full force and we will see attacks against our faith like we have never experienced. The atheist/new age/satanic crowd will have nothing else but to defend their faith with the only tools they can. They will no longer be able to honestly use their god of “Science” since said god will have betrayed them. They will no longer be able to argue intellectually that God’s Word is not accurate as the world of academia will be turned on it’s head. They will have their hand forced to show who they really are…liars, murderers, idolators, wicked in all their ways. They will have no other recourse but to attack the Body of Christ physically and spiritually. There are any number of scenarios that can and will be put into play.

The spin doctors will be out in force. The mystics and shamans of the new age will be coming out of every corner and closet. The scientific and intellectual communities will be up in arms trying to find a way to shut this down before any more study can be done on it to keep any further damage to their own self inflated egos. After decades of Darwinism they cannot afford to have their pupils being confused with the Truth.

This is going to be interesting to see how it unfolds. When I first saw this, I honestly had the impression of “Meh”. There was a day and still is when any news of the Ark gave me goosebumps. But now it just feels different. And I believe that is exactly what Satan is hoping for…people’s feelings. I see it analogues to the Lord of the Rings in that “Shadow” has taken hold of the land. People’s hearts and minds have become cold…numb. “Yeah, they found Noah’s Ark…yippee” said in a apathetic tone. I pray this is not the case.

Like you Dr. Lynn, this does nothing to confirm or embolden my faith but it does validate that the Bible is real to such a cynical and dying world. To many, this could be the spark they need. Many of us have debated skeptics for years and one of the fundamental pieces of their argument is that they want “Tangible evidence” of God. Well, this would be it. But just as those who were RELIGIOUS did not believe in Christ when He was with them in the flesh, there are those who will not believe in Him no matter the evidence presented.

    Interesting days ahead indeed.

    Blessings to you Dr. Lynn.

      Jeff:

I am in agreement with what you have stated and what Lynn has stated. It just seems to me that most people won’t even care about this find. Most people are so bogged down with their everyday lives and their “needs” that they won’t see this for what it is…even if it were not the true ark…just the fact that it is being brought out in the open again is a reminder for people that there is a higher authority that we need to be accountable to and most people are either not aware of that or are running from that. I also think that the cults, new agers, raelians, etc. will try to use this in their agendas as well to further confuse those that are being lead astray. I think that these type of things will bring more anticipation to those of us that are awake and awaiting our Lord and it will just lull to sleep those that are perishing, as it will be just another “religious thing” to them. As the Lord said “Will the Son of Man find faith on the earth when He returns? Let us be faithful. Amen

One hand I am very excited, on the other hand I cringe at the thought of the secular media having a field day reporting it’s the worst built transportation since the Edsel.
One thing is certain, if it is indeed the Ark, the spin from those with hidden agendas will be intense, trying to shoot down the importance of this find.

Hi there brother Jeff and all others stopping by here~
I am in full agreement with your post, Jeff. My heart of hearts says this is indeed Noah’s ark. Hallelujah! I do however need some clarification on what you mean by the word “Meh” as used in your fourth paragraph. I’ve reread it a few times to get the contextual meaning but alas…I’m missing something. Could it be a typo then? As far as proving, verifying this find as THE Noah’s ark, in what way(s) shall this be accomplished? Especially to an unbelieving world? Yahweh allowing for empirical evidence to “prove” the facts in His Book is one thing. But usually that is never enough to satisfy the mind of a scoffer (skeptic.) Because this happens to be a team of Bible believing, God-fearing explorers who “found” the ark and bring the news to the world, I have no doubt that their [ultimate] findings will be portrayed as biased and replete with “party-line” agendas. Of course all the MSM and skeptic rant will be coming from people who have their own biases and party-line agendas! Go figure. And so the merry-go-round spins and the Catherine Wheels. Matt put it succinctly “…the spin from those with hidden agendas will be intense, trying to shoot down the importance of this find.” And on that note I’d like to exhort believers here to read 1 Corinthians 1:18-29. That brings a Holy Spirit chuckle and smile to my day :^D Peace and joy to you all in the name of Yeshua ha Moschiach,

What’s really interesting about these finds Lynn is that the scientific community has always claimed there is no ‘scientific proof’ for the Bible and it’s claims. That probably eases/eased their consciences down to a dull roar……but now, God is giving them their ‘proof’ so it will no longer be a matter of truth but rather a matter of whether they love their sins more than their thirst for THE TRUTH! Jesus Christ!

On a side note…..I am truly sorry, (although NOT surprised, especially since personally seeing the turn out in Mansfield) that more people didn’t show up to hear your message in St Louis! What a horrible testimony for those involved in that ‘church’! If Michael Jordan or Jackson were to come you’d have to call in the National Guard for crowd and traffic control!

It’s obvious to see there are very few fence-sitters left!

    Come Quickly Lord Jesus!

      Hi Margaret,

That’s a good link. I’ve watched many videos on youtube about Ron Wyatt’s sojourn into the Middle East…very interesting. I’m surprised this wasn’t mentioned in LA’s article.

It’s makes me VERY suspicious that people have tried to discredit Ron’s work. That makes me wonder why.

I wonder if LA has seen his work? Maybe not.

Anyway, thanks for posting that link. If anyone wants to see videos on his work – they can type in his name at youtube and watch vids about Sodom & Gomorrah, the Ark of the Covenant – and Noah’s Ark….

Which ark could be the real one? The one LA wrote about today? Or the one Ron Wyatt found in Turkey (in a similar area)? Only Yah knows. But I found Ron Wyatt’s work very compelling.

Hopefully, people will not get dazzled too much with all the signs and wonders coming so hard and fast – and lose discernment. Not only does Yah work signs and wonders – but satan counterfeits everything, trying to trip us off the path. People think they can’t be deceived and that is NOT true. We are to remain in Yeshua – and that alone makes it obvious that we can walk away (no protection).

      Yah bless and keep you:).

      Very good point!

Why now? Could it be that when the ever accelerating pace of endtimes stoires bombard the daily news, God shows up and says, “Don’t worry, I gottcha covred!”

  7. Frank said

i posted that link in yesterdays post, cause I feel the same as LA. Every time it’s discovered I get my hopes up. If it s verified to be true, I think it will change alot of minds about the Bible, but I can pretty much guarantee that hard core evolutionists will not be swayed. they will say it’s a hoax, or that it was a regional flood, some rubbish like that. Or maybe that someone built it on a mountain waiting for a flood that never came. They will have their own spin for it, just as the New Agers will.

New Agers will just say that it was just a survivor from the last big earth changes. Like Jeff D, i can see the bad side spinning it to their advantage.

Lisa too has a good point “Most people are so bogged down with their everyday lives and their “needs” that they won’t see this for what it is”

I hope it is true, and I hope that it will lead people to pick up their Bibles, but I may have become too jaded to see this actually happening to people.

I see this even in the church. I am trying to work on a freelance article about end times prophecy for the local Christian Paper. The editor is interested, but all the folks I’m trying to interview couldn’t be bothered. I’ve called the local “authorities” for Catholics, the local Presbytery, several seminaries/Christian Colleges. I have one commitment to an interview, and even that is hard to get an actual meeting set up. The word from the Catholic side (so far) is that The Catholic Church isn’t so much into the end times Prophecy as the Evangelicals are. Makes me think they need to refocus on the Lord and His ultimate return rather than whatever it is their focus is.

Maybe the enemy doesn’t want the article out? It seems that I can’t get any where, but I gave the project to the Lord to start with, and I am continually putting it back into His hands when I get discouraged or don’t get anywhere. I guess all I can do is keep it in His hands and wait for His timing.

    • KimInGeorgia said

My friend, it’s a divisive topic…and there is no “accurate” answer to when the catching away will happen because the Scriptures do not tell us and finding it in God’s Word is the ONLY sure way to know. Each view has pros and cons. I think it can be agreed that most, if not all of us, would hope for a pre-tribulation rapture so that we will not witness first-hand the horrors that will take place on Earth when God pours out His wrath. That, I’m afraid, is likely to be the ONLY possible point of agreement among the differing views. Continue to seek the Lord in all matters, not just this one, but understand also that God quite possibly intends for some things to remain mysteries until He reveals them Himself. Much love in Christ to you!

      JESUS SPEAKS OF THE RAPTURE
The word “rapture” is the common terminology used in reference to the Saints being (caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the Air when He returns)1Thes 4:16,17
there has been divisions among Christians as to the timing of this event. There need not be, for Christ tells us exactly when it will happen.

Mathew 24:29-31. Jesus says: “Immediately [after] the Tribulation of those days”
there shall be some unnatural events take place upon the Earth as a result of the Heavens being shaken vs29.
And then the sign of the Son of Men will appear in the Sky, causing all to mourn.
Then they will “See [Jesus coming] in power and great Glory vs30.
In this very next verse 31 Jesus says: “He will send forth His [Angels] with [a] great [trumpet] and they will gather [together] His Elect from the four winds, from one end of the [Sky]to the other.

The thing to notice is that it is “After the tribulation” that Jesus appears in the Sky for all to see (No secret) Then just as Paul confirmed in 1Thes4, there are Angels with A trumpet sounding to gather the saints (elect) in the Sky (air) to meet the Lord and be with the Lord.

There is no denying that Jesus was speaking of His second coming at the end of the age and of the impending salvation of his saints being caught up by the Angels in order to be away from the wrath of the Lamb in judgment upon an unrepentant wicked world. For in vs37 He says that it would be as in the days of Noah, “there shall be two men in the field one will be taken the other left behind”…….vs40-44.

In the days of Noah those left behind (the wicked) were judged by the Flood.
Here however, is the “judgment of Eternal Fire”, which those left behind shall experience at the hand of the Lord. Mat25:41.

Apostle Peter also refers to this judgment of the ungodly by Fire,
“The day of the lord (his appearing) like a thief (quickly), in which the heavens will pass away……the Earth and its works will be burned up” 2Pet 3:7-13.

We can be certain as to when the rapture takes place and also of what will be thereafter. What we do not Know is when The Lord Shall return, “no man knows the day and hour” vs36. It is to that which we are to be always ready for (His appearing in Glory).

The book of revelations comes to a conclusion with these words of Jesus
“Behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with me, to render to every man according to what he has done”. Rev22:12.
That implies two things: 1. Salvation to the Saints 2. judgment to the ungodly. (see Blog: The Last Trumpet)

    • LisaUK said

      issacsgma,

Here is what the Holy Spirit showed me when I asked Him to please show me the Truth. I set aside everything I’d been taught because I didn’t want to be deceived and misled. I share this – but urge you to take it to Him in prayer.

The KEY to understanding when the ‘rapture’ (catching or gathering up) takes place is to find out when the Resurrections take place. There are TWO resurrections. One when Yeshua returns (Matt 24, 1 Thess 4). The other at the end of the Millenium (Rev 20).

Once you pinpoint WHEN the resurrection of the dead in Christ happens – then you see clearly when “those who are alive and remain” will be ‘raptured’ (caught or gathered up).

Here are some scriptures and notes I wrote on it. Just ask the Holy Spirit to show you though and don’t let anyone get between you and Him.

      ********************

1 Thess 4:15…”WE WHO are ALIVE & REMAIN UNTIL the coming of the Lord, will NOT precede those who have fallen asleep (died).

16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven w/ a shout, w/ the voice of the archangel & w/ the trumpet of God, & the dead in Christ will rise FIRST(!).

17**THEN** WE WHO ARE ALIVE & REMAIN WILL BE CAUGHT UP **TOGETHER**(!!) WITH them in the clouds to MEET the Lord in the air, & so we shall ALWAYS be w/ the Lord.

18Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Paul was asked about all the people who had already died — what would happen to them. Paul was explaining that even though the ‘dead in Christ’ were in their graves – that their loved ones needn’t worry – because they would be resurrected at Yeshua’s 2nd coming. That’s why he told them ‘therefore comfort one another with these words’. He wanted them to understand that anyone who died *before* Yeshua returned, would be resurrected to be with Him ***AT*** His return.

Why comfort one another w/ these words if we escape tribulation?

There is only ONE 2nd coming. Not two.

Please read the Scritpure and ASK the Holy Spirit. Don’t trust ANY man. Man is a liar, and the heart is deceitful above all else; who can know it but Yah?

2 Thess 2:1 Now we request you, brethren, w/ regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ **AND** OUR GATHERING TOGETHER (RAPTURE!) to Him, 2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, TO THE EFFECT THAT THE DAY OF THE LORD HAS COME. 3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will NOT come **unless** the apostasy comes first, AND the man of lawlessness (antichrist) is revealed, the son of destruction…

This scripture tells us the ordering:
1 – first, comes an apostasy – a falling away from the Faith.
2 – the Man of Lawlessness (anti-christ – son of perdition) is revealed
3 – only then can the Son of Man (Yeshua – the Messiah) return
(there are other things that happen between the anti-christ being revealed and the 2nd coming of Yeshua – which we can find it other witnesses/scriptures)

8Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth & bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; 9that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power & signs & false wonders, 10 & w/ all the deception of wickedness for THOSE WHO PERISH, BECAUSE THEY DID **NOT** RECEIVE THE LOVE of the TRUTH so as to be saved.

Verse 8 shows us that AT Yeshua’s 2nd coming – is when Yah’s wrath is poured out.
The wrath is NOT poured out DURING the Tribulation. During the tribulation – there are judgements happening – but the vials of wrath are not poured out until Yeshua returns. (See Revelation about the vials of wrath…study to shew thyself approved – and trust Him to help you connect the dots).

(satan tries to trick everyone at the 6th trumpet that the ‘false prophet is the 2nd coming of Christ!)

satan is pandering to peoples’ desire to be ‘raptured’ out before tribulation. Beware.

People WILL fall for the deception that anitchrist is the messiah (at 6th trumpet) BECAUSE they are placing their faith & hope in the wrong place (false doctrine, doctrine of men – instead of seeking Yah on the matter). Beware.

We will only escape tribulation BY Yaweh guiding us to safe places! THIS WILL happen BY FAITH & FAITH ALONE! Read Rev 12 about the ‘woman’ who is hidden in the wilderness for 1260 days – where she is nourished and protected from the dragon. That is the REMNANT of people who follow the Lamb whereever He goes, obeys Him – and loves Him above their life on earth.

READ THE SCRIPTURES FOR YOURSELVES. Don’t put your hope, trust and faith in ANY doctrine of men.

The pre-trib rapture, escaping the TRIBULATION (NOT wrath!!) is false teaching about the 2nd coming. There are not TWO 2nd comings – or 2 stages of Yeshua’s return. There is not ONE scripture that says there is a 3rd coming – or a secret ‘coming’ before the 2nd coming. This is false doctrine. Beware.

We are only convinced of false doctrine when we fail to:

1 examine ourselves daily to see that we’re in the faith. (prayer and supplication in humility, realising we cannot understand without the Holy Spirit helping us know the Truth – that means setting aside every notion, idea and doctrine and allowing Him to teach us – and reading the scriptures for ourselves)
      2. test the spirit (we are to test EVERY spirit, witness, testimony BY the WORD – thru scripture and prayer and waiting on Him to faithfully answer).
3 avoid leaning on our own understanding (or that which we’ve been taught by man, or that which we’ve surmised ourselves, without testing the spirit by the WORD).

      Please read Scripture for yourselves.
      Selah! And Yah bless:)!

While I kinda think I should feel different but I dont. I get the idea that the announcement can go either way. My question is why would a Muslim country release an artifact that might disprove tenants of their faith, by strong affirmation of areas of our faith? Sometimes I feel like this blog, and I am thankful for it, jumps the gun so to speak on any news topic. I realize that most folk, even within my own camp do not want to talk about end times, rapture, second comming, and those alien quacks, do even broach that subject…I am praying daily for armor, protection, and discernment. At some point we must move forward and carry on until that time. The word the Lord has given me in this day through a dream I had the other night, was “Worship Me.”

Lyn! What an awesome report! I’m reminded of when I was a kid pretending to be Indiana Jones looking for the Ark of the Covenant. Now, here we have a possible find for Noah’s Ark. Truly amazing!

If it turns out not to be Noah’s Ark, it could still be one of the first structures built by either Noah or one of his sons. If that be the case, it’s probable that if they built homes, they would have more than likely used some of the wood from the Ark. In either case, this is a magnificant find not only for the Genesis account, but also for archaeology since this find (if it is confirmed that this is Noah’s Ark) is (in my view) a more significant find than the Dead Sea Scrolls themselves. All in all, very cool!

Oh come on L.A.! Now just because some of us don’t particularly admire the Shroud doesn’t mean we wouldn’t
be excited about The Ark or other Biblical historic artifacts.

This one is interesting too: Red Sea Crossing

    http://www.arkdiscovery.com/red_sea_crossing.htm

Now how excited the non-sheep types would be is yet another story. Lets listen for His voice & see
    what He tells us.

“As in the days of Noah” & “Noah’s Ark” yep- quite intriguing.

Quote from the story: “Even if you assume the explorers found what they say they found, linking the discovery to Noah’s Ark requires lots of leaps of faith: Is the carbon dating accurate?”

Now how laughable is that? The MSM never seems to have a problem with carbon dating when it comes to anything that fits their world view agenda. Can you say Darwin/Lucy/”Nebraska Man”/Et al? The list is as endless as it is hypocritical when it comes to carbon dating and the MSM. But hey now, we have a new paradigm we be dealing with here. Yes sir. We have us an ark. A Biblical Ark at that.

      Maybe.

The only thing now is just as spoke earlier in the thread, the spin begins and the cycle won’t end until all the resources necessary to kill this story have been exhausted.

If this is the real Ark of Noah, do we think the MSM will be intellectually honest enough to deal straight up with a waiting world? Not on your life. And if it truly is a fraud like Dr. Heiser states do you think they will just let it go? Not even a remote possibility. This will be their moment of shining glory to gloat yet again over those “Gullible, ignorant, and superstitious Christians who believe in fairy tales.”

      Let the games begin.

      Sadly.

      Peace to all

Have any if you heard about the new telescope/imaging deal at the university of Arizona named “lucifer”? I can’t link it because it’s from a news app on my phone but the story was pretty disturbing. In an interview with the one of the German scientists said “in germany it would not be a big deal to name it lucifer because we are a very secular country” and he went on to say that the name dosent have the same stigma attached to it in Germany as it does in America.

      Hi Joe,

Yes, I saw a story about it on Raiders. I will see if I can link it for you. The only reason I am saying where I found it is because it may take until 9am Wednesday morning CST for the link to be approved. However anyone can go to raiders news network dot com and scroll down to find the story. I will give the link in the next post.

While I don’t find the topic itself to be a problem it is a bit disturbing the Vatican would choose LUCIFER as an acronym for the telescope

      Respectfully,

      Jeff D

The True Story behind the inspiring film, “The Blind Side”.

Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw and Kathy Bates star in Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures The Blind Side, which depicts the remarkable true story of All-American football star Michael Oher. Teenager Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) is surviving on his own, virtually homeless, when he is spotted on the street by Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock). Learning that the young man is one of her daughters classmates, Leigh Anne insists that Michael—wearing shorts and a t-shirt in the dead of winter—come out of the cold. Without a moments hesitation, she invites him to stay at the Tuohy home for the night. What starts out as a gesture of kindness becomes much more as Michael becomes part of the Tuohy family despite the differences in their backgrounds. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. And as the family helps Michael fulfill his potential, both on and off the football field, Michaels presence in the Tuohys lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own.

True story behind ‘The Blind Side’ movie

Submitted by SHNS on Wed, 11/25/2009 – 15:04
By TERRY MATTINGLY, Scripps Howard News Service

In the beginning there was “Big Tony” Henderson, whose dying mother urged him to pull his son Steven from a public school on the bad side of Memphis and take him somewhere to get a Christian education.

But there was one big complication. Steven didn’t want to abandon his buddy Michael Oher (pronounced “Oar”), a street kid who slept on their floor most nights. “Big Mike” was afraid to return to the bleak foster homes he knew after police tore him away from his mother, her crack pipe and her 13 children.

So Henderson took both boys to Briarcrest Christian School on the rich side of town, hoping for scholarships that would make a grandmother’s dream come true. School officials were impressed by Steven’s grades. Coaches were impressed that Oher was 6-foot-4, weighed 340 pounds, could dunk a basketball and looked like God’s gift to quarterbacks who needed a left tackle to guard their “blind side.”

The rest is a long story, one that weaves together themes of race, sports, money and education. But a key player in the real-life version of “The Blind Side” stressed that this is also a story about faith.

“We’re convinced that faith guided and controlled this whole thing,” said Leigh Anne Tuohy, the steel-magnolia matriarch of the rich, white, evangelical family that finally embraced Oher as a son, after providing food, shelter and clothing. “We absolutely believe that none of this was a fluke. … This was God-driven from the start.”

Author Michael Lewis didn’t hide that faith element while writing “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game,” a best seller that mixed Oher’s story with information about how the left-tackle position evolved into a crucial, and lucrative, slot in any National Football League offense. Then writer-director John Lee Hancock included religious details about the family in the new movie, while avoiding heavy-handed sermons. “The Blind Spot” grossed $34 million at the box office on its opening weekend, while scoring a rare A-plus CinemaScore audience rating.

On screen, the Tuohys attend plenty of sporting events. After all, Sean was a University of Mississippi hoops star and wife Leigh Anne was an Old Miss cheerleader. Their daughter Collins is both a cheerleader and volleyball star, again at Old Miss, and their young son, Sean Jr., seems to have inherited his father’s gifts as a tireless sports entrepreneur.

The movie skips the ritual when everyone heads to Grace Evangelical Church, a growing congregation the family helped start.

Oher began attending soon after the wet winter night when the family first spotted the shivering giant in shorts and a floppy shirt, walking back to the shelter of the warm Briarcrest gymnasium.

Leigh Anne Tuohy said that “from day one,” Oher was the first person ready to go on Sunday mornings. Church was part of everyday life, like homework, piano lessons and trips to sports events and practices.

The key is that expressions of faith were a natural part of this true story, said actress Sandra Bullock, who plays Leigh Anne. No one was faking anything.

“This family, they were themselves for no other benefit other than because they wanted to reach out, lend a hand, and had no idea that they would get a son in return,” she told reporters, after a press screening of “The Blind Side.” Bullock said that, while making the movie, she regained a little “faith in those who say they represent a faith. … I’ve finally met people that walk the walk.”

While Tuohy stressed that she can now see God’s work in the events that changed Oher’s life, and their family, that doesn’t mean the details were clear at the time.

The family had reached out to others before, but not to the same degree. Now, it’s impossible not to think about how many other talented, gifted children are, literally, on the run in America’s cities, she said. What is the family supposed to do now? What should Oher do, now that he plays for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens?

After one of her Southern chuckles that Bullock had to master to play her on screen, Tuohy said that it’s hard to talk about the future when she is still trying to understand the wild changes that have changed her family forever.

“A miracle is what this is,” she said. “Childbirth is easier to explain than all of this.”

Randall Price: Ark Pictures Are FAKE!!

Many of you have seen the preliminary news announcement of an alleged discovery of Noah’s Ark by a Chinese expedition team and asked me for clarification. I knew this was coming and have been praying about how to respond.

I was the archaeologist with the Chinese expedition in the summer of 2008 and was given photos of what they now are reporting to be the inside of the Ark. I and my partners invested $100,000 in this expedition (described below) which they have retained, despite their promise and our requests to return it, since it was not used for the expedition. The information given below is my opinion based on what I have seen and heard (from others who claim to have been eyewitnesses or know the exact details).

To make a long story short: this is all reported to be a fake.

The photos were reputed to have been taken off site near the Black Sea, but the film footage the Chinese now have was shot on location on Mt. Ararat. In the late summer of 2008 ten Kurdish workers hired by Parasut, the guide used by the Chinese, are said to have planted large wood beams taken from an old structure in the Black Sea area (where the photos were originally taken) at the Mt. Ararat site. In the winter of 2008 a Chinese climber taken by Parasut’s men to the site saw the wood, but couldn’t get inside because of the severe weather conditions. During the summer of 2009 more wood was planted inside a cave at the site. The Chinese team went in the late summer of 2009 (I was there at the time and knew about the hoax) and was shown the cave with the wood and made their film. As I said, I have the photos of the inside of the so-called Ark (that show cobwebs in the corners of rafters – something just not p! ossible in these conditions) and our Kurdish partner in Dogubabyazit (the village at the foot of Mt. Ararat) has all of the facts about the location, the men who planted the wood, and even the truck that transported it.

To my knowledge, the Chinese took no professional archaeologist or geologist who could verify or document the wood or the structure in situ (in its place of discovery). They were duped in 2006-2007 by Parasut when they were shown a similar cave with something they thought was wood. I met the Chinese when I went with a team of geologists to examine the “wood” in Dogubabyazit and to report that it was volcanic rock (called “tuff”) and not wood. Thereafter, since the Chinese were apparently able to get permits to climb in previously off-limit sites, I and two other professionals joined with the Chinese (bringing our own independent satellite data) and went with them to Mt. Ararat in 2008. During that expedition, the guide Parasut who claimed to have found the Ark, was constantly drunk and after one month sitting in a hotel waiting, the expedition never happened. It was at this time that I made contact with Dr. Richard Bright who has climbed Mt. Ararat 33 times in sea! rch of the Ark and with several others climbed the western side of Mt. Ararat with a shepherd (who had recently been discovered by Dr. Bright’s Kurdish partner) who knew the location of a piece of the Ark. Last year we had a good expedition to a higher site (the satellite site) and this summer we will excavate the shepherd’s site and have every reason to expect success.

I am sorry to have to report that this is apparently a fake (and I am sure that the Chinese do not know this, but they do not respond to my e-mails), however, we do hope soon to have the real thing.

I encourage your prayers for me and others who will have to explain this “discovery” to many others – because negative reports are never well received and motives are questioned, especially when those doing so are part of a competitive expedition. But we do not want people to reject the truth of the Bible because another Noah’s Ark report turns out to be false. We prefer to as clear upfront in our reporting as possible so Christians (and others) can make up their own minds.

I hope that this will be helpful to you at this time,

Mount Ararat in Turkey cannot be the place the Ark of Noah came to rest. Genesis 8:4 states that the ship came to rest on the mountains (plural) of Ararat. Then in Gen. 11:1, it says that the people moved east to the plain in Shinar (Babylonia). Take a good look at a map and see if that would be possible from Mt. Ararat, Turkey.

    • Rose said

The “Mountains of Ararat” are most likely the Zagros Mountains in Iran.

    • DavidBmusic said

Hmmm, good point Rose. But keep in mind that the ancients followed directions by what they could see and tried to record their maps as best they could, which obviously wasn’t very accurate. So, if Noah’s children left Mt. Ararat (modern-day Turkey) during a time of the year because of the earth’s tilt where the sun was rising more towards the south east horizon, the ancients would’ve considered that “east” because the sun rises in the east.

Also, the earth prior to the flood, may not have had it’s modern-day 23 degree tilt that we have throughout the year. The earth may have stayed in a perfect lateral balance around the sun prior to the flood, but during the flood, the earth’s tilt started. This would’ve thrown off Noah and his descendants’ understanding and taken quite sometime to understand their bearings directionally speaking.

Just look at our maps from 400 years ago…they weren’t very accurate. Now imagine 5,000 years ago. East, versus a southeast understanding is understandable all things considered. Food for thought.
