Sunday Go To Meeting Bun! bow-bow-bow

Posted by lamarzulli on April 18, 2010

Modern man, in America lives in a post-Christian world. He believes in the theory of evolution. There is no god and the stories in the bible, Noah’s flood, Moses parting the Red Sea, and Jesus walking on water are all myth, nothing more. The ape is our ancestor and the universe is billions of years old. Everything we see here on earth, the complexity of life, all happened by chance, through the evolutionary process, over millions of years. This so-called  philosophy is taught in our schools and is the prevailing “wisdom” of the day. Those who embrace this system and others who are in it because they have never heard the good news echo what was written thousands of years ago by Peter, one of Jesus disciples. He tells us:

That scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.

This passage makes it very clear that there was a creation by the word of God i.e. Jesus. He spoke the universe and every element as we know it, into existence. This was the act of creation, ex nihilo, out of nothing. We are told that out of the dust of the earth man was created. IN that creation we have the gift of life. We see this gift of life attacked daily in the abortion mills as the slaughter of the innocent continues, for the most part unabated. I believe that life begins at the moment of conception. In that gift of life we are also given autonomy, free will, the ability to make choices whether we will seek out God and worship him, or choose to believe that there is no God, and therefore worshiping something that doesn’t exist is an exercise in absurdity! We are told that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. We see the complexity of life in the DNA double helix strand, in which the encoded information for all living things lies. I call this the finger-prints of God. With all of that in mind, He will not, under any circumstances twist our arm and make us worship Him. It is a free will choice. It springs from an understanding that He sent His only son, Jesus to die in our place and by His blood we can be born again and have eternal life. That sacrifice on Calvary, truly set the captives free. However, it is up to us to either embrace this free gift or turn our backs from it and go our own way. It has been 30 years since I invited Him into my life and I will tell you there has never been a dull moment since. He is lover of our souls. He is the truth the life and the way and no one comes to the father except through Him, Jesus. I am often asked by people who are in UFO cults or those who are in the occult, what steps they should take to get out. I tell them that they must come to a undestanding of Jesus and what He did for everyone on this planet. Only He that can set them free from the demonic activity and the oppression that they are experiencing. As he sets us free we slowly begin to grasp how wonderfully good He is and that we can trust Him. Then we realize that he is both God and man and worthy of our worship because, He first loved us and laid His life down for us.

    Eph.6

[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

With God’s help you can tell fallen spiritual entities to leave. If you are
fearful of them they stick around. Evil spirits or demons feed on human fear
and love to scare people. If you submit yourself to God and
are not afraid and you ask fallen spirits to leave in the name of
    Jesus Christ they generally flee.

    Jas.4

[7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil (or
devils) , and he (or they) will flee from you.

    Luke.4

[36] And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

    Luke.9

[1] Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

LA Well said! I thank you for your message posted today and for the opportunity to fellowship, communicate and honor Jesus today with you, for I know we love and honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We draw near to him to worship, praise and glorify Him and Father Creator God, majestic Creator and ruler of Heaven and Earth! You have mentioned so many things that are very near and dear to my heart, mind, and soul before Jesus today. I thank Him for helping me to communicate with you and others who are like minded and draw near to Jesus and the Father to seek their faces in love. May those who ‘draw near and seek His face’ grow in the lovingkindness and knowlege of our Lord and Savior and His Father and by the Holy Spirit giving us increased Godly wisdom and discernment, strengthen us that we may see and hear clearly and always know the voice of our Lord Jesus.
    Blessings in His name–Cathy

  7. i love this Sunday thing, its so refreshing. great job L.A.
    Keep up the good fight.

1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

2Ti 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
2Ti 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Excellent post, I do however notice, if you have a belief in creation, you are ridiculed as being a knuckle dragger from many in today’s society. The verbal abuse can be brutal.
I have an Uncle that is a Catholic Priest. He comes to visit every year or so, we bump heads over certain things, one of them is he feels the Bible is nothing more then stories made up for us to learn something and not to be taken literally. He tells me, just think of Jonah and the whale, how could that be possible?? ..I tell him anything is possible with God. At which point he rolls his eyes and says something under his breath,
He tells me I need to get back to the “True Church” if I have any hope of salvation…In his eyes I am doomed since I attend a sprit filled non-denomination church.

I recall A Nun saying to Me Once, “not only are we Christian, we are Catholic Christian”

The mentality of Catholicism is such that the Pope “Sits On a Throne”

Whose Throne is it! seeing that Christ Our Lord sits at the right hand of The father on His throne having all Authority in heaven and upon the Earth…..

      John B

    • Well isn’t such an attitude just another veil, by which we must have the word of God interpreted for us by men with their own agendas?

I say we must not allow it!! Jesus tore the veil. I choose to have a personal relationship with God. Therefore, I know the feelings and thoughts I have when I read His Word are genuine and sincere, since they were placed upon my heart. Ridicule and scoffing are tools of Satan to manipulate us to turning from God.

  9. Excellent post L.A. After a weeks worth of seeking the signs (which often involves speculation), it is good to recenter on why it is we look at this stuff in the first place. Thank you for these words that places focus on Jesus and our salvation through him. It really energizes me to stay on the narrow path throughout the week.

    Mr. Marzulli,

This blog post is utterly beautiful. Thank you!

Yesterday afternoon I was studying Psalm 139 outdoors in a lovely park by a river, with two of our sisters in Jesus Christ and the words from 14: ‘I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well,’ puzzled me as I didn’t understand the use of the word, ‘fearfully’. We spent some time talking about that word and also about the word, ‘hate’ which is also repeated several times in the Psalm.

I finally understood something. In the secular world counselling as regards building self-esteem are geared toward the inner person in learning to fortify their OWN will, and not relying on others. I’m studying the art of self-esteem as giving everything to our Father, relying on Him to fortify me in HIS will and not relying on me or anyone else. Quite a difference!

So Mr. Marzulli your lovely words come as a confirmation for me. Thank you so much!

    Your sister in Jesus Christ,

Another disturbing thing that can be drawn forth from this passage is from the way it is phrased, Peter was also speaking of professing ‘Christians” who deny the accounts of the flood and the literal coming of Christ.
