Prophecy out of Context!

Over the weekend there was an FBI raid on a so-called Christian militia group. Here is a sample of what this group known as the Hutaree claims:

Jesus wanted us to be ready to defend ourselves using the sword and stay alive using equipment,” Hutaree.com reads. “The only thing on earth to save the testimony and those who follow it, are the members of the testimony, til the return of Christ in the clouds. We, the Hutaree, are prepared to defend all those who belong to Christ and save those who aren’t. We will still spread the word, and fight to keep it, up to the time of the great coming.”

Jesus never, and I repeat never said, “to be ready to defend ourselves using the sword and stay alive using equipment.” In fact, He said just the opposite. He said, he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword. While we should be prepared to defend our family in times of emergencies, like the lawlessness that plagued the good people of New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, in no way should we organize a raid against a group or anyone else for that matter, just because they have a different ideology than we do. That’s what great about our country, the rule of law, not the gun.

I believe we are in the last days. I BLOG about this, and appear on many shows discussing the signs that seem to be pointing to the return of our Lord. For people who don’t know about Biblical prophecy a group like the Hutaree can do more damage than good. They come off as fanatics, and wild-eyed loons. They also take scripture out of context like the passage I pointed to above.

We are accelerating toward a war in the middle east. We see that earthquakes, famines and war and rumors of war are growing in frequency and intensities. However we are told to watch for these signs not to form militias and target other groups and people who may not agree with us. In Israel there is a group that is trying to force the rebuilding of the third temple in Jerusalem. Here’s the link to an article that reports on this growing movement in Israel:

I believe that we will see the rebuilding of the temple without the destruction of the Dome of the Rock. The person who orchestrates this will be none other than the Antichrist. Some of you may disagree with me and that’s fine, but when I read an article like the one I linked to above, it becomes very clear that this will, at some point become a reality. Prophecy is the future written in advance to show us that there is a good God that is outside our space/time continuum. Much of the prophecy which has not been fulfilled centers around the nation of Israel. Those who hold to the tenants that the church is Israel will never have a clear understanding of prophecy.

In closing todays post, passages in the Bible have been misinterpreted throughout the centuries. It is why we are told to take the whole of God’s word and not to cherry pick one scripture that support one position. My friend Bill Salus, who has appeared on Acceleration Radio several times believes that the next major prophetic event will be the fulfilment of Psalm 83. He may be right! However, I believe that this already occurred in the war of 67. We agree to disagree and we watch and see what will come to pass. That’s a healthy view on the end times and Biblical prophecy. Sadly, Biblical prophecy will be taken out of context by the media, and that which was given to us by a good God and separates the Bible from any other book on the planet will be looked at with suspicion, thanks in part from this group taking what it says out of context…..

    Supposedly they were plotting to kill police officers. If this is true, obviously that is wrong.

    If they were a group of people who were meeting with the express purpose of someday defending their country, I can’t really fault them for that. However, as you said, he who lives by the sword, dies by it (I know that is not in context but still true).

    Bottom line- If the police story is true, swift action was necessary. If not, then we have an issue with overreaching government oppression because these people, whether we agree or disagree, have the right to assemble (assuming firearms laws were met, etc).

      Hi Bruce~
      In the breaking post yesterday the alleged reason for the raid/s was that the “Hutaree” were making threats against Muslims. So now it’s against police? Are we ever told the truth? We must remember that we are only told what TPTB deem is fitting to tell. There may be truisms embedded in the media spin…but I fear the bottom line we’ll never know for certain.

      I believe we’ve just seen another series of false flags, with people directed by TPTB to infiltrate various militia groups (some group members may also be Christians)to fuel the incendiary flames of animosity against constitutionalists who love the USA and the Judeo-Christian Principles in the Bible it was founded on, who also believe in the Bible and are followers of Christ!
      Not only false flag actions, but actions and words said and done in public and released in media with media bias influenced by extreme lesftist owners like George Soros.

    just to reiterate what I posted on yesterdays. I think this is also a setup by the media to make Christians, particularly those of us who believe in end times prophecy, look bad. Why else would “Christian” appear so clearly in the title of most of the articles.

      Agreed. it is a commentary on Christians…as well as gun ownership. You can kill a lot of birds with the stone the media is throwing! (which doesn’t make this group’s actions right if the story is true)

    Good commentary on the situation with the Hutaree group. I wonder if a situation like this however will be used by an already bloated, over-reaching Federal Bueacracy to begin to label all of us who believe in end-time prophecy as dangerous.

    If these folks were threatining vilonence on the police or any other group, clearly they needed to be shut down. However, I do see the potential for setting precedence here. I wonder if the government will come after house churches next? Just some thoughts.

      Yeah, we don’t know about this group and they are innocent until proven guilty. We DO, however, know that our government has no problems killing American soldiers, Iraqi citizens, babies who are unborn, inducing poverty on children due to a corrupt monetary system. How the heart of God must be grieved by the elites of the world who have harmed little, defenseless children. That’s the context I see it in. I still love my country, I am against this evil hierarchy.

    • I totally agree that bullets won’t change a man’s heart. My concern ever since I read this story initially was the precedent it could set as far as the government is concerned. It should be interesting to see how this is spun in the media once more outlets pick up the story.

      Actually, surprise surprise, Future Quake read in one of their weekly news segments that people who believe in end times prophecy (among several other groups) were being looked at as possible terrorists. it is only a matter of time before they start taking it further.

      I do not agree with anything Hutaree espouses, but the media is paving the way. This group is not Christian by my definition, but the media keeps calling them such.

      it’s in prophecy that we will eventually be delivered up, stay strong in our faith in the Real Jesus, not the one these militias are throwing up.

      also, look at this. simpsons are talking about uniting Muslims Jews and Christians among also making fun or Christians.

    Seeing how this type of group makes nonbelievers see “us” out of context to what we really believe, maybe we should attempt to speak the truth in other avenues besides just with each other here on these blogs and in our regular witnessing. Perhaps we should write to our local newspapers editorial pages and other popular major news outlets and magazines to see if our “real viewpoint” by rightly dividing the word of truth can be put out there so that some may hear the real truth and be saved. I know that no matter what we say in whatever avenue, many will still see us as “fanatics” as that is what the enemy is trying to portray of us…but just maybe some may see the truth if we can write about some of these very things LA talks about.

    I liked the quote from a pastor, not named, who stated that “the further the world gets away from Jesus Christ, the more radical we seem to them.” Just to read te daily news, it is not true Christians who are causing the mayhem. We’ll see where this goes, however, having worked for the Feds for years, if they cannot get you individually or as a small group, throw the conspiracy law, RICO and a host of Homeland laws, and here we go. We need to pray for our country daily. Come Lord Jesus doesn’t sound too bad either.

    I think first off that people have a right to defend their religion and themselves. If the Jews would have fought back instead of believing the lies of an Anti-Christ man like Hitler many would have either survived or died upholding their values and faith. God never said allow yourself to be murdered. Nevertheless, I pray these people weren’t preparing to hurt any one but simply preparing as they said to defend their faith against evil. That evil could come in all forms from corrupt government officials or the hoards of the soulless that may one day come. Granted we will fight back with the sword of the holy spirit against that type of evil but against men weapons are pretty formidable. Many news commentaries stated they were Christian Militia who also have a fondness for conspiracy theories

    I agree with a few previous commentators that they are relating Christians and believers in Jesus with A. Guns/Violence B. Conspiracy Theories C. Causing Americans to be fearful of Christians. It may be harmless or they may have stopped something before someone got hurt but can we always believe what the news tells us or what the government does? No. Many are morally corrupt and are plain liars as we know.

    This a testimony of what happened to me About 6 years ago It was Anzac Day ‘A public Holiday’ in Australia for the Remembrance of fallen Diggers.
    The parades were on the 6am news, I commented To my wife (if the fools want to get themselves killed that is their business) An Hour later I went to the beach for a surf, I soon rushed home appeared at the Front door shocking my wife covered in Blood. Surfboard hit me in the head.
    The wife rushes me To the Hospital where I received Stitches and head Bandages.
    On the way home in the car the Wife said, [You look just like An Anzac war casualty].
    At that precise moment The Lord Spoke to my Heart saying; “some of my saints were among the Fallen”. I repented of my foolishness.
    I was a Staunch Pacifist Till then.
    Now I believe that A man Has the Right To defend his God given Freedom when Threatened outright by an aggressor.

    I am still trying To reconcile how a none violent person like myself could Kill another. I pray that I will never have to resort to violence, that some how The Lord will protect me.

      No don’t own a sloop,the movie is fairly accurate in it’s historical context, but i don’t think that the acting can really portray the emotional status of what these men endured.

      I don’t go much for war movies specially recent ones, the violence is to graphic.
      Gallipoli is not so graphic, enjoy it for it’s Historical value.

    Lynn, The destruction and loss of life described in Psalm 83 could not possibly have taken place in 67! There will be few surviors of that event. Keep up the good work!

    Dr, Lynn,

    This story reminds me greatly of the Branch Davidians near Waco in 1993 when their home or “Compound” as the MSM repeatedly referred to it was raided. When the ATF made their now infamous raid on men, women and children, it was what many believed (including me) a test run on any who CALL themselves Christians and their beliefs if they run anywhere near opposite of what the current Government wants them to be. By that I mean closed mouth, owning no guns, making no noise about corruption and especially end time prophecy just to name a few. In other words, shut up, be quiet, preach the “Good Book” and you’ll be OK.

    I was running the board at the only Christian radio station that carried David Koresh’s speech to the media near the final day and was interviewed by the number one TV station in Dallas regarding my thoughts on what was going on. I was a young 29 year old a the time and the only thing I knew was that the Davidians had broken no laws but because the ATF wanted to make a big splash (hence the one camera crew thinking that it would be an easy kill…literally) there was not being fair media coverage. I also made it clear that in NO way did I agree with Koresh or ANY of his teachings or what he was doing there with underage children which would be the only way he was breaking the law and that would be a clear violation. But that is not why the ATF went there. Their warrant had nothing to do with minors.

    I know I am opening up a whole can of worms because I am merely making a patch work of the whole sad Davidian/Government saga that took place. I am sure we all vividly remember the flames that shot up on April 19, 1993. I was in shock and horror as I kept waiting to see at the very least the women and children come out but never did.

    In short I am trying to say that what happened yesterday could be the continuation of what had begun in 1993. The only difference is that the Davidian episode in our Government’s history was so ugly they let off the gas, no pun intended. Well, perhaps now it is time to begin to fill the tank up and ramp up the rhetoric against any and all Militia type (Good or bad) or anybody who wants to rightly protect what is theirs under the Second Amendment. Now with Obama in office, he can begin the new purge of these fringe “Christian” groups with the cooperation of the MSM as a brain washed public sits in their easy chairs and says, ‘Yeah, get rid of all these threats to national security’. You start slow and do what APPEARS right to the sheep and the sheep will follow what they ignorantly believe. I know my argument isn’t the best and maybe not even sound.

    I just can’t help but think of this being the modern day 1993 with a new green light and Obama sitting in the Oval Office saying, “GO!”

    This could be what they wanted then but couldn’t get it because of how bad it turned out. Maybe this is their new test run.

    I pray I am wrong.

    May we seek God’s Face in these troubling times.

    But don’t worry Democrats are back in the White House and they’re already rounding up all of those extremely dangerous Christians. Great, isn’t it , that we’re wasting incredibly valuable FBI resources to arrest people that just want to read the Bible and be left alone.

    Thank God Obama is all over these groups or they might do something really terrible like open a food bank or a soup kitchen for the poor!

    The media is all over this “Christian” group Hutaree.
    They (the media) will have field day with this. When I first heard the news that a radical fringe Christian group might be involved, I knew it would be just another way for the media to say all Christians are lunatics and are not stable people as a whole. I have heard many reports since the news broke and the media makes absolutely certain to put the emphases on “Christian” group.
    Religion in any fanatical form is dangerous, but groups like the Hutaree, damage the real gospel and the followers of Christ.

      Whoa, i just finished reading this…

      what the article failed to mention is that a physical resurrection is totally possible. I think when Lynn describes the Turin shroud it says it best. there will be some sort of law of physics that is able to resurrect us into remade bodies.

      Think about it, if God can create the universe from nothing, is reforming and transforming a dead body that difficult? i think not.

      I don’t know, I just don’t want to be cremated. I know God can resurrect even dust,
      however,I would hate to be cremated then find out somewhere down the line I needed my body or parts or atleast some of it to be resurrected.
      Im not making light of the discussion, but really, wouldnt that be tragic?

      Take heart Matt. Remember there have been THOUSANDS if not hundreds of thousands of Christians over the past two millennia that have been burned at the stake, burned alive, burned to ashes after being shot et al. So methinks you need not worry. When you have the early church fathers that were burned at the stake with nothing left but their ashes, rest assured that you too will have your ashes resurrected to WHOLENESS without any problem.

      Virginia, I’m beginning to suspect that BHO may not be a Muslim after all. Even though he was caught in a video saying “his Muslim faith”, that could just as easily have been a mistake (you know when your thoughts are going too fast to keep up with your mouth) albeit a rather embarrassing mistake in the circumstance. Or it could have been a well-placed whisper in the ear in order to throw people off more.       ALL TYPES OF ORGANIZATIONS HAVE BEEN INFILTRATED IN OUR SOCIETY AND THEY SEEK TO REMOVE GOD OUT OF EVERYTHING, THEN THEY’LL COME FOR HTE CHRISTIANS AS PART OF THIS PROCESS INSPIRED BY THEIR DARK MASTER AND LORD.
