John L. Owens grew up in Coastal Florida, (a beach bum) life-guarding and trimming palm trees for spending money. Graduating from FSU, he began his career in business with Procter & Gamble and served with the U.S. Coast Guard, involved in rescues and smuggling deterrence in the North Atlantic. Later, he was hired as a writer by a creative agency on St. Simons Island, and then started his own, publishing Challenge in Business magazine for business leaders – a Christian outreach following his spiritual conversion in “74. He went on to earn an MDiv at Luther Rice Seminary and became active in evangelism.

In 1992, with the opening of the Soviet Union to Christian missions, John and his family departed to the former USSR, helping to equip nationals for ministry, serving as Academic Dean of the first “above-ground” Bible school.

After three years, the training had become nationalized and John returned from Moscow with his family to Coastal Georgia. He has served as a pastor, as well as a science teacher. He remains active in missionary work and serves as a volunteer chaplain to truck drivers with Transport for Christ. John’s first novel was published in 2008 – The Ninth Generation.

    Hi L.A.,

I really appreciate your blog. I have been watching this new TV series called V (2009), and something struck me, it’s like it was taken out of your book: Alien motherships come hover over every major town of the world (29 ships), with aliens telling people that they come in peace although the audience knows that they really want to take over the world and kill every human being. So a very small resistance cell forms, but they face many difficulties because nobody believes them and they can’t trust anyone. Inside families, children turn against their parents, … because they have to decide which side they are on.
You should really watch it. Now I was wondering, if some demonic powers were behind this show, why would they tell the world what they are about to do? This simply doesn’t make sense. In all other TV shows, the thing, they are trying to tell us that we might have supernatural powers (like in heroes, …). or that supernatural stuff is just normal (which it is, but not to everyone), like in FlashFoward.
What do you make of it?

sometimes dis-information….sometimes mis-information…sometimes tricksterism. He will send tricks and delusions like a hall of mirrors. You’ll be so confused if you watch the shiney flashy things you won’t even see the knock out punch comming. Its easy…when you are the father of lies there are sooooooo many to tell…so-so many.

Aliens are currently all around us, and are watching us all the time,” Mr Filipov told Bulgarian media.

Work on deciphering a complex set of symbols sent to them is underway, scientists from the country’s Space Research Institute said.

They claim aliens are currently answering 30 questions posed to them.

Lachezar Filipov, deputy director of the Space Research Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, confirmed the research.

He said the centre’s researchers were analysing 150 crop circles from around the world, which they believe answer the questions.

“Aliens are currently all around us, and are watching us all the time,” Mr Filipov told Bulgarian media.

“They are not hostile towards us, rather, they want to help us but we have not grown enough in order to establish direct contact with them.”

Mr Filipov said that even the seat of the Catholic church, the Vatican, had agreed that aliens existed.

He said humans were not going to be able to establish contact with the extraterrestrials through radio waves but through the (power of thought).

“The human race was certainly going to have direct contact with the aliens in the next 10 to 15 years,” he said.

“Extraterrestrials are critical of the people’s amoral behavior referring to the humans’ interference in nature’s processes.”

The publication of the BAS researchers report concerning communicating with aliens comes in the midst of a controversy over the role, feasibility, and reform of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
